Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

I'm not sure if anyone brought it up, but wouldn't Aperions new faux robot body kick up something fierce with Welds metal body?
How long before PHO starts kicking up AperionxWeld once that gets revealed?

Not necessarily. It's probably like the problem Echidna has with Apeiron. She can't remake him (At least not his current form, or if it was when he had the heart modified), because her Shard has no idea what it's looking at. Shards aren't creative, but they aren't stupid, and even assuming it can do the metal absorbing stuff with materials it doesn't understand it might not want to risk anything.

Then, I hope his various memory perks allow him to remember the following scene:

Just so that he knows everything that Dinah has been going thru? Is all 100% totally his fault. His fault for providing the weapons for the distraction. His fault for totally ignoring his passenger warning him about this very event, but he was too angry to listen to it. It's the one thing that has happened in the entire story that I'm actually angry at Jozef about.
I don't think he needs memory perks for that and I'm pretty sure it's gonna hit him hard.

I find it weird to fault Joe for Dinah's situation. I get being angry but the fault 100% lies with Coil there. Plus, the Undersiders (mainly Lisa since she's the only one who'd have known/figured out the purpose of the bank robbery). The distraction was literally gonna happen with or without the weapons.

The only thing you can fault Joe for is ignoring the passenger and therefore the only thing you can say Joe is responsible for is his ignorance of Dinah's situation. Still, even in that case, I'd say a portion of the fault in that lies with the passenger's poor communication, timing, and handling of the situation. Also, remember that the kidnapping already had happened by the time the passenger tried to draw Joe's attention to it. There's not a lot Joe could have done then and even if he did listen, the amount of useful information he could've obtain and the actions he could have taken are limited. Plus, if Joe found out about Dinah then, there's a good likelihood that Coil would have killed Joe.

That's just it.. he specifically didn't think that.. instead he just ignored what his passenger was trying to warn him about because he was angry at it. It's the same as if a person had had an argument and was in a bad mood, and then ignored the child playing in the street with a car zooming towards it.
I don't think it is the same. I know the analogy is probably more to convey your frustrations on the situation than literally equating the two, but I feel the need to argue it nonetheless. If anything, it's more like being in a parked car and ignoring the news report on the radio of the ongoing aftermath of a car accident (or similarly ignoring the amber alert on your phone) while arguing with your trusted friend who's badly conveying something via Charades. This being after you've learned the money you loaned him was used to do something incredibly stupid like buying an illegal firearm or crazy hard drugs rather than something you were more willing to let pass like weed or gambling. The analogy got a bit away from me but you get the point.

Also, in this situation, you'd blame the driver. Responsibility for dealing with things also would fall to the parents/guardians as well as the paramedics or police who are trusted to handle the situation.

I get there's this idea that as the out of context protagonist, Joe's the only one who can actually change/do anything and therefore responsible for fixing stuff, but let's be realistic and look at the actual circumstances here.
Can Joe be blamed for not seeing the critical importance of that particular news article right after he was given a very good reason to stop relying so much on his passenger's directions and perception of things (ie the bank robbery)? Of course not.

Will he blame himself for not seeing it at the time once he puts the pieces together, and FEEL personally responsible for everything she's suffered through at coil's hands?
Absolutely.
This. Sums up my thoughts on that perfectly.

His Cyborg Hindu Godbody is hidden unless he reveals it when using Mantra. Also, I feel the look is different enough (it's more clay textured with gold and bronze looking flesh) that any similarities drawn to Weld would be pretty superficial since publicly there's no connection between the two. People are just gonna take the changes at face value of it being cybernetics (probably due to surgery/treatment post-Ungodly Hour). Additionally, when the Godbody is revealed, the situation would be one where there'd be better things to freak over (an Endbringer attack probably).

Joe: one, at sufficient velocity. *cocks FTL gun*
Joe pulled the trigger, and at that moment, the bullet became a sun. 10 grams of lead traveling at 1000c fused everything in front of it at the atomic level, creating the biggest explosion in human history. The whole of the eastern coast of North America turned into plasma hot enough to rival a supernova.
The stream of particles accelerated by the FTL bullet ripped through the planet's crust like a kid with ADHD through a Christmas present package with a nunchuck inside, shooting atomically fused matter like a railgun. The atmosphere, at least that part of it that was not instantly boiled, followed the FTL missile that was now Earth's crust into the blackness of space. And it would fly through it for the next million years, till one day some poor species, barely reaching industrial stage would be annihilated by that Relatavisitic Kill Vehicle. But, alas, the Earth's Moon stud in its way. The stream of particles hit it like a discount-hungry mob on Black Friday, cracking it like a Jawbreaker under a hydraulic press.
Back on Earth, in the continent-sized crater filled with liquid innards of a planet once full of life, stud Apeiron. He looked in the spot where a villain named Coil once stood and opened his mouth, to give the best one-liner the sparce atmosphere of volcanic gasses would ever hear.
"Yeah, that'll teach him."

Nah don't worry, Spiral Energy.

And then the mantic cores reset everything, resurrecting everyone but coil. Meaning he could totally do this guilt free as everyone but his target would be fine in the end. Although that would not help with him not wanting a cult because how the fuck do you crack a planet to kill one dude, then proceeded to effectively rewind time so only said dude was harmed and NOT get some cult started, if only out of fear.

I wonder if Joe or his duplicates have ever or will ever just. build/create something really bloody dumb for the hell of it. Like a potato cannon that converts the potato into a boxing glove (full of styrofoam so it keeps its shape) the instant it leaves the barrel. Or a bucket of invisible paint. What sort of things do the duplicates make when they're dissociating or just doing something with their hands while trying to think of an actual project?

I mean, the duplicates do that all the time. There's a reason why he has a super-imax theater in the lab - the dupes built it for a giggle.

... is that a paint that renders whatever it's applied to invisible? Would covering a wall in it appear to expose the studs and infrastructure behind it? Would applying it to a person cause them to look like very accurate AoT cosplay?

That feels like something that would be developed in THAT lab.
It is both that and paint that can't be seen at the same time. Its effects depend on the applier's interpretation of "invisible paint."

If its a potato gun I hope it shoots curly fries

Coil: At least he isn't using a giant robot like in the other timeline.
I can imagine Joe just making a bomb or laser/particle-beam or something set to take out Coil if it detects itself being simulated. That or to interfere with communications systems and whatnot to mess with information gathering efforts.

Probably a decent idea to get some pseudo-biological metals to make the cybernetics out of though.

Actually is it not possible for him to use a perk he got with his Megaman armor to switch from Cyborg to practically full Organic?

Even then, he has a sample of Weld's body to study along with access to some pretty high tier materials. The only things better would be Ur Metal from Marvel at the top of my head.

News update: According to Ao3 WOG, we're getting an extended prelude serving as an interlude this week due to Lord having some troubles nailing down the tattletale call.

Aside from that: I wonder if Joe would ever be into wargames. I read some bits and pieces about Warhammer 40k today and now I'm imagining Apeiron just painting hand-made miniatures to relax.

Just a quick reply to acknowledge corrections and omakes. Additionally, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words after last weeks short-notice delay announcement. I hated having to do that, but the chapter definitely wasn't ready for posting at the time and, given it's importance in the broader story, I felt I needed to get it right before I released it. Unfortunately, that is proving a bit of a challenging task, so this week we will have a short interlude in place of the main chapter, with Tattletale's call being covered the following week. Part of this was the complexity of the chapter, and part was the pace I've been putting in this year catching up with me to some degree. There isn't the risk of burnout, but the occasional week off would probably be a good idea, considering the other commitments I'm dealing with in my own life. In the future I'll endeavor to provide more advance notice in the event of a delay.

Now, on to thanks and awknowledgements:

The Wardrobe
"Are... are we sure this is a good idea?" Taylor asked as Alec adjusted the camera hanging from his neck and Lisa taped the end of a thick spool of yarn to the floor. She eyed the walls -what she could see of them, that is- nervously. It had taken some luck, some deception, and a few plundered goods, but the Undersiders (including Rachel and her dogs, thanks to a bottle of endless water and an endless bag of dog food, both courtesies of Joe) had managed to sneak into Joe's base as he and his team were leaving it.
Thanks for the omake.
Hey, who let Garment configure the security system?

Thank you, corrected.
Thank you, nice chapter.

likely something was meant to be before 'and'.

Thank you, corrected.
Pretty sure this is meant to be 'see' at universities.

Wonderful chapter, even if the conversation with Alena gave me stomach-twisting knots.
Thank you, corrected.

Thank you, corrected.
Apeiron vs. the Internal Revenue Service

The sky of Brockton Bay was an inky, smokey black. Fires raged uncontained due to how preoccupied my entire team, duplicates included, were. I was sweaty, I was exhausted, and my ribs ached something fierce, what with being fractured every way to Sunday.
Thanks for the omake.
You know, in honor of the chapter/snippet coming out within 6 hours. I present to you all...

Celestial Forge's Day Off 2: Stardust Vacation!

Thanks for the omake.
Ah, it's time for another omake. I've had this idea in my head for a while, but I kept putting off writing it.

Apeiron's drones helping

Thank you. Incredible work, as always. It's fascinating to see someone else's impression of moments from the story. Sometimes they are exactly like I pictured them when writing and sometimes they are something completely new and incredible. I really appreciate the talent and effort you've devoted towards my story and really can't thank you enough.
