A little of both. When you start a physics proof with "assume [such and such] reference frame" with no actual reasoning behind it, I feel you're already cheating. You don't invoke relativity just because classical physics gives you weird answers. You invoke relativity when there is a disconnect between two IFR. For flipping someone across balconies, the observer has a pretty reasonable frame of reference.
And looking a little further down, how did a Heavyside Step function get invoked?
But I'm with you @Hexokinase. I'm calling shenanigans.

You don't seem particularly interested in disuadding the shippers...

Why would you want to?

It's part of the long con... See, the more ship tease you put out while the shippers wait for their ship to finally fire its canon, the more the shippers will raise their expectations. Then I go ahead disappoint them with bait-and-switch at the very end as a giant middle finger to all of them. Worked with Naruto and more recently, Bleach. All I'm hoping is that Stryp is setting up a similar one for the SS Israfel.

I was actually on board when they invoked taking them as a rotating FOR. I mean, sure, that's completely unnecessary but I might just have missed something (I'm a chemist, after all, not a physicist)... But then when I tried to follow the derivation from the initial dp/dt line, they introduced a bunch of unnecessary variables.

THEN they brought out the triple integral and Maxwell's equations. And I'm like... uhh, no.

I find it hilarious that they also invoked Japan's latitude into the mix. That's when I realized they're just pulling bullshit out of thin air.

I stopped following Bleach almost 6 months ago, but you're gonna have to remind me about Naruto.

Naruto never had any indication of returning Hinata's feelings, likewise with Sasuke returning Sakura's. Kishimoto's ship tease was basically no ships, or NaruSaku being canon. Instead, NaruHina and SasuSaku became canon after the timeskip.

It's not infallible. I shipped NaruHina and IchiHime.

You think that's bad? Mahou Sensei Negima didn't even bother to say who, if anybody, the main character ended up with out of his 20+ harem (but it did say that it wasn't any of the most popular pairings). Admittedly, the series had been cut short to prevent the editors from stealing the rights to the series, but still...

At least we got KonoSetsu.

Given what we've been seeing in the sequel series, UQ Holder it's possible he didn't end up with any of them. :(

The theoretical physicist is in. Physics consultation: 5 cents.

The guy in the first post just states the equation for coordinate acceleration in a rotating reference frame. He says that various integral theorems still hold (though he confuses the divergence theorem with Gauss's Law), which...doesn't really matter for this problem. Then, he tries to attack it using an action principle, which is massive overkill.

In other words, hogwash. Nothing to see here.

Unless there's a different kind of action here, if you know what I mean.

I don't know about you...but that assortment of colours doesn't look too dissimilar to a rainbow...
Rei: "....Stop looking at the scan of me naked, Rainbow Trout."

Kaworu: "I know I should look away... but I can't!"

Rei: "Do not start getting ideas, Stupid Fish!"

Kaworu: "Too late!" :)
And that's why they're so perfect for each other. <3
Oooh, the next update is going to hurt, then...
IRC denizens got a preview. After 4 days of writer's block, I got hit yesterday with the concept for the next 3 scenes, including a very detailed one for the conversation Rei and Kaworu have on the way out of the party.

Its not a happy one. :(

Sorry, Rainbow Trout. You're going to be the victim of your own success here...

Read A&T! WAFF, and it's educational! Alas, my own degree in History is not of terribly great use here, nor my experience as a Soldier. ...maybe I should have Shinji and Asuka visit Iraq? :V

You know Strypgia, after reading a lot of history, ancient, medieval and modern alike...I don't think they would like to go there. Not where hell is a daily life, where one of its few saving graces is that it may grant innocent and sinner alike their passage into heaven. Not to a place of vengeance where the sins of the empires of the west have now come to haunt us again and again. Not to the land of the children's crusade.

Unless of course, they come not as children, but as heroes, clad not in chainmail but ideals and good will. And even so, may God aid them, so they won't be betrayed by their actions there.

I think An EVA will protect you better than any chain mail or ideals.

Asuka's Prayer

"Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil, for I am Piloting an 80 meter tall God-cyborg of mass destruction that laughs at the Laws of Physics. My Pallet Rifle and my Progressive knife, they comfort me. He prepareth an Umbilical Plug in the presence of mine enemies. He restoreth my AT-Field. Surely awesomeness and victory will follow me all of the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the GeoFront forever."

Quotes without Context, post it there now.

No. Shit gun is shit. :p

Still prefer the Nobody dies version. "Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no evil! For I am driving 35,000 tons of FUCK YOU."
