Iz dat sum 8-bit Theater reference?!
Just checked, I think it is Luftwaffe. The tie seems to indicate it.
On that topic, what do you think Luftwaffe "Hauptmann" Asuka Langley Soryu's aircraft of choice would have been?
Sorry, having a dense moment but I still don't follow.
Misato basically assumes the role of J. Jonah Jameson.
That tends to happen when people communicate through pictures rather than words. Especially when they don't draw those pictures themselves.
Asuka: "Shinji... Where are my pants?"
No, it's the one where there's an air combat unit composed of underage girls in hotpants flying on brooms. Is Strike Witches the one where the airplanes are all teenage girls, and also for some reason they have cat ears and whatnot?
Since I've first seen the tilde used in that manner with ND!Rei, I will forever associate it with her.

Heee~ey.Since I've first seen the tilde used in that manner with ND!Rei, I will forever associate it with her.
*shudder*
Well, it's really more 'WWII Aces turned into teenaged girls who fly magical versions of their historical aircraft against aliens'. Really, the appeal is that the characters are cute and fun to watch, and it has plenty of references to things the historical aces are famous for. Such as the one based on Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier at one point. While injured, no less.Yeah, it is. Just as with Kancolle more recently, I never did see much of an appeal in the idea.
I mean, something like 'Girls und Panzer' might be silly, but at least the overall idea is simple and fairly solid: academy girls driving tanks around in mock battles because reasons. But Strike Witches? Turning Zeros, Spitfires and 109s into flying-moe-catgirls? I can't vouch for if it's actually any good or not, but I don't really follow the logic of whoever came up with that idea.

Wonder what that sign's advertising?
It's fireworks. You don't need a reason.
Non.
At least that's a proper language.
And what do they drink with those cheeseburgers? Iced tea.Next scene: Asuka and Shinji eat cheeseburgers and set off fireworks, for no reason, while removing extraneous 'u's from signs. Honor! Color! Armor!
Reminds me of that one classic Polandball comic.
Asuka would be one to browbeat her boyfriend into embracing the American way of life.Next scene: Asuka and Shinji eat cheeseburgers and set off fireworks, for no reason, while removing extraneous 'u's from signs. Honor! Color! Armor!
