A question about Rei and her status of being sterile and not bleeding.
Is this a fact, or was one of the medications causing it? I mean they REALLY wouldn't want Rei to have a period with hormones, or have the chance to accidentally reproduce.
And them being dicks about it with "Oh, sorry. You're not really a woman." instead of "You're on insane levels of Birth Control" would be very much like what they would do in canon.
it's not like she's been off her meds for 2 months yet, and there have been times that someone who was medicated took months before their cycle started back up properly.
I mean, did we see an x-ray of Rei showing no female parts? Rei 3 had the magic organ replace her womb yes, but this is Rei 2.

Based on the various character notes, it is not the medications. They're psychosuppressives, not super-birth control. Otherwise, Asuka wouldn't have recognized them. And Strypgia's mentioned that Rei's got a 'high possibility (of being) completely sterile' before.
EDIT: Or the author could be giving us an in-depth explanation very soon.

In all honesty if during a pubic exam(unlikely, she's a teen), or more likely some-kind of advanced scanner, they found that her Hymen had been torn, they'd probably chalk it up to her active life style that involves combat training or her delivering a stunning high to someone who probably doesn't deserve it, rather than sexual activity.

Ok, let me try to untangle my half-assed planning and the fact I made that scene up on the fly as I wrote it. The entire 'Rei, drugs, and detoxing' plot arc was unplanned.
So, series canon has Rei mentioning in her trippy internal-monologue in Episode 14 that she doesn't bleed:
It's not really clear what it is referring to. Certainly, Rei has been seen to "bleed" normal human blood from wounds (she doesn't just have LCL running through her veins). So the common assumption is that Rei does not menstruate. I've been writing on that idea, anyhow. My working reasoning is that a combination of clone-body shenanigans and Lilith's genetic material not being fully compatible with Homo Sapiens leaves Rei a mule: Her organs are present and partly functional, but no good as far as being able to bear children. The hormonal contraceptives are unnecessary for that end, but included for regulating the other hormonal surges that go with having a body that is physically 14.
(This is also the monologue where Rei mentions hating the color red. In A&T, this no longer applies, and she's becoming rather fond of it, in one particular shade, at least.
) At this point Rei has been off her meds for almost 3 months. Her hormonal levels are pretty much up to where they should be normally. She's also off all the emotion-suppressing and dissociative drugs for the first time in her life. The combination of these things has lead to her previous experiments with Kensuke and her falling in love with Shinji and Asuka. So Rei is utterly awash in intense feelings right now. Hence things like her strong reaction to Kaworu's thought about getting in close to Shinji or Asuka. Rei is a barely-chained goddess as it is. Now she's off her chain, and has a cause: There is nothing in the world as important to Rei right now as 'Protect Shinji and Asuka. Instrumentality be damned.'
Oh, and Rei II or III? Same body, I'm afraid. They're both just clones from the Reiquarium. No significant physical differences. Assuming that even happens here. You think Shinji and Asuka wouldn't move Heaven and Earth to protect their beloved friend? She's not going to be left fighting Armisael alone like in canon, that's for sure.
Never heard that one before? Listen to the rest of The Planets. Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn are fantastic.
In this case, it would mostly be 'Asuka is paranoid that Doctor Akagi would notice her hymen is very gone, and it was there last time NERV gave her a full physical', with some 'It's reeeeeally obvious I've had sex lately'.
Anyhow, next section 95% done. Just needs a couple of closing lines and a beta check, so we should be up sometime in the next 24 hours.

Um Strypgia did you run your hymen statement by Lilith Prime first? Last I checked a hymen is a piece of skin that doesn't cover the whole of a vagina ,can be moved by having sex instead of being torn during it and it grows back if torn.
Also I have heard that music many times. Each time I do I end up on Braveheart Main Theme afterwards.
Edit: Wait did you mean that Asuka thinks her hymen is gone? Because that just makes Asuka's life even more depressing if nobody explained how a woman's body works to her and she has been cribbing her own knowledge on the topic from her environment instead of being taught it.

Depends on your definition of virginity. There are instances of pregnancy occurring even without penetration. Sperm anywhere near the vaginal canal can make their way into the womb and induce fertilization. Sperm cells are tough bastards, able to live 3-5 days within the female body, which depending on the ovulation cycle, can cause pregnancy, hence why natural contraceptive method is generally unreliable.
