Catching a... typo? Missing keyboard punches of -space- + d , I suppose:

Iunno if that's a typo :V
Let Asuka use her lazy approximation of language I say!

Hope to see how the discussion between Misato and Kaji about these revelations go!

It'd be a surprise for Kaji, expecting to get chewed out for getting shot only for Misato to start about wanting to know more about his past!
Because there's still a bit of tension between them and how secretive Kaji tends to be about himself. Might need to resolve that before they get closer together (that and Kaji needs to stop gallivanting around the world every few days, probably doesn't help his case :V)

Hik: "Because it is my mom, Toji!"
T: "Yeah I still don't understand it…"

Asuka: What's hard to understand? Souls exist, right?
Toji: Yeah...?
Asuka: And everyone knows what a soul is, especially since everyone knows that souls are semi-tangible objects, yeah?
Toji: Okay... I'm with you so far.
Asuka: So, somehow NERV captured Mrs Horoki's soul in a pokeball, and then uploaded it to Unit-03
Toji: See, that's where the difficulty comes in.
Rei: At least you grasp as much as most of us.

I still don't know how the LDP got in again after everything that happened with the Incursion

Probably the same reason the LDP has been the ruling party for the last 70 years in our universe - the tendency of Japanese culture to want to avoid rocking the boat

2012 p-presidential election

IIRC, in our universe Obama was reelected in a landslide... well, as much of a landslide that you can get with US elections...

T: "Worse than?"
A: "Well only the bad people go to hell, y'know? Good people get thrown into war and that's why it's worse."

Maya: You've been into Ritsuko's collection of M*A*S*H tapes, haven't you?

"Like c'mon! How young were the pilots when they started wearing this?!"

Trixie, don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to

"I… don't know, okay? I was thinking that showing off my intelligence to others, being this savant at something… that would make me happy. That would give me purpose. I… don't really have much more outside that. Heck, Evangelion's been good in that sense, giving me something else I can satisfy myself with."

Asuka: I have this strange urge to beat some sense into some American guy...

"Call it my love language if you want."

"Heh… shut up, Derek."

Their sync rate would tick up a couple more points.

Oh no... I ship it

"Oh it sings to my poor shipper's heart, Dipper!"

Oh no... Mabel ships it.
Also, big same, Mabes.

Catching a... typo? Missing keyboard punches of -space- + d , I suppose:

"Iunno" is a common portmanteau slash shorthand for "I dunno" - dunno how common, but I know a lot of people who use it, in text and in speach

I was not expecting Toji to show up here.
This was some nightmare fuel for Shinji.

Mi: "I'm disappointed Kaji stopped you."
Hir: "I think we all are at this point."
Both Kaji and Gendo were fucking SHOCKED that Shinji try to take a swing at his father.

Misato grumbled. "That's his own thinking. Shinji shouldn't have had the burden and couldn't have known the consequences of his actions which were made in good faith. We can always say what could've been done but you gotta think about what would've been realistic for him to do."
S: "I mean… Kaji did have a point with that, I suppose. Like it or not, you did die when I could have done something to protect you, Toji. Same as with Kaji, or Misato. Even if at the time they didn't have another option, that's how they came to terms with it."

Misato may not like what he says but Kaji did had point and he does not seem the type of man that would say any of this lightly.
R: "It resulted in your demise in the Laserdiscs…"
A: "I can't imagine it'd be any different there."
Oh it's different Asuka but... you're not going to care for your manga counterpart in that instance.:rofl::rofl:
Kaworu would give a slight chuckle. "The more things change, the more they stay the same…"
Oh things are VERY different Kaworu... you're not going to like it.:rofl::rofl:

It's a lot more dramatic in Chronicles, believe me.
Could call it a bit of a noodle incident if you wanted :p

That was part of my challenge in putting Derek Croft in Chronicles and I'm glad to see it's working!

Oh no... Mabel ships it.
Also, big same, Mabes.

She can't help it, she's always been like that!
Call it making up for her own atrocious love life, at least with how thing were like before her and Paz had the big damn moment!

Both Kaji and Gendo were fucking SHOCKED that Shinji try to take a swing at his father.

I was pretty surprised seeing it for myself honestly, like seeing just how angry he was (and seeing how close we got to Gendo actually getting some sort of punishment for everything he put Shinji through).
The manga's full of those sort of shocking moments that differ from canon, Toji's demise being one of them.
And skimming through the next few chapters that we'll be covering, there'll be a few more I reckon!

Goes to show just because one series changes...drastically between mediums(like how FMA did between it's first anime(which is what i saw first and its manga) doesn't mean it's bad, even if there are negative changes. On the one hand Eva this Eva manga(...is this the first one?) completely destroyed the dynamic between Shinji and our resident fish, which i hear a lot of people were angry about. On the other we get scenes like Shinji almost slugging Gendo and Toji actually dying that flips the script and does keep us on our toes.

What do you mean by that?
If i recall the manga right, unlike the anime version of our Fish(who's name i still can't spell and don't want to look up), it had our Fish and Shinji as hostile to each other, mainly cause of the former's actions. As a result instead of the anime's "Fish shows Shinji love and acceptance at a time no one else does with no strings attached(...well, he was an Angel that Shinji had to kill but the warmth he showed Shinji was separate from that)" we instead get someone who has a "Blue and Orange morality" thing going in a way that tends to upset Shinji in understandable ways.

In anime, it is a stretch to call Tabris a character.
He was basically a walking plot device, "how to make Shinji even more screwed than Asuka after mind-rape".
He was bland, boring and had no characterization apart from the "free will" talk.
He was like a bad OC from a bad yaoi fic (I would never believe that the plot from ep24 is canon, if I didn't see this myself). The fact that the writing of the episode was bad (except Asuka parts), did not help.
Hard to say that there was even a dynamic between those two.
Manga made him weird or alien, sure. But at least he was an interesting one there, even if he was an asshole. You may argue that Gendo or Asuka are bad or unlikeable people, but you can't claim that they are not amazingly written characters.

Tabris(thank you for reminding me of that name) didn't have much screen time and we didn't get much yeah, but i wouldn't go that far. Even less so about the "OC" part. I mean what we got was pretty decent on it's own; a supposed Angel Of Free Will(...or is it Freewill) who didn't actually have a choice in a lot of things. But what he did choose was to spend his little time on earth helping Shinji out; that says something. I mean yeah, maybe it did more damage to Shinji, seeing as how he had to kill Tabris, but at least he tried to be unconditionally kind unlike everyone else, who had their own issues mucking up any positive actions.
As for Gendo and Asuka, they were pretty interesting characters yes, but i don't think the anime had her amazingly written. Mainly cause what we saw was what we always got, with any changes was her deteriorating until she broke. Was it interesting? Yes, but not because of her character, but because of events done to her. ...Wait, is that the same thing? ... ... ...Am i just splitting hairs here?

Any way on another note while writing this i had a thought brought on by the latest Chronicles. What if, for whatever reason, whenever Shinji said "i quite" he stuck too it? What would canon be like? I mean, some would be obvious; the Angel Of Curbstomp would have killed them all(...probably. Exactly how long did they have between Shiji quitting and said Angel showing up? Cause if they had time they could have probably though of some "Plan B" to at least put up a better fight) but for the rest? And how would the characters respond to any and all headaches this brought?

Maybe this is the problem. He did not have much screen time, so the result is a boring and flat NPC.
Was it interesting? Yes, but not because of her character, but because of events done to her.
This is much more true, considering Tabris, than Asuka.
He is remembered mostly because what effect he has on Shinji (and how it ended the world in the long run). Not because he has any interesting qualities.
Asuka has some good (almost never seen, but existing) personality parts, she is flawed, and not one-dimensional (even if she is selfish by the most of the time; her "bad childhood" excuse is bullshit).
Tabris has nothing of that.

, and people ask why comics aren't popular anymore.

You know, between conspirancies by space soul eaters cults, bunny cats douches and Eliza deadpanning lewd everywhere, the last thing that the crew needs is their evil counterparts coming into their universe and wrecking havoc.
Come to think of it, Evangelion Anima Has what can be an evil version of Shinji.

The main antagonist Armaros is revealed to be Shinji from another timeline in which Asuka and Rei died in the final battle.

So what you're saying is...

Armaros is canon Shinji?

I read Anima a long time ago. Maybe I should check it again, because I do not remember this.

Couldn't believe that was the work of a "professional" writer.
I refer the reader to the kind of material cited in Nick Lowe's "The Well-Tempered Plot Device":

Article:
For instance, Lionel Fanthorpe could never have existed in any genre but SF. Everyone knows, I imagine, the story of the Flaz Gaz Heat Ray, perhaps the most outrageous deus ex machina ending in all literature. There the heroes were, stranded deep in an enemy sector of space, surrounded by an entire enemy fleet with the guns trained on them, when the maestro realized all of a sudden he had only one page left to finish the book. Quick as a flash, the captain barks out: "It's no use, men. We'll have to use the Flaz Gaz Heat Ray." "Not – not the Flaz Gaz Heat Ray!" So they open up this cupboard, and there's this weapon that just blasts the entire fleet into interstellar dust. One almighty zap and the thousand remaining loose ends are quietly incinerated. Where, but in SF, could you do that?

I have a question inspired by the most recent chapter of "the 2nd try short stories". Would Asuka in Advice and trust be sensitive about her height?
