Are we all of the opinion that Rebuilds are canon? As I saw it, this was simply Anno's way of saying that the original production run didn't sit well with him.
 
The Rebuilds have good ideas, but they have too little built on their foundations for me to fully consider them canon to Evangelion. Something adjacent, kind of like the EU of Star Wars, but not fully in line, even with the idea of time loops being broached in the final movie.

And believe me, we have big plans for the next half decade as well! Might take some time to get there but we'll get there eventually! I hope you can all stick around for that :D
Even recently, we've only started touching on subjects that had first been planned almost 3 years ago, and we have a few big stories planned for the future that I'm already in the process of writing out (and that I've subtly hinted at before :p).
Three points for folks who can guess what we might be doing :V
 
Kinda "hoping" to see Kaji be around for his backstory which ... may be accurate for the chronicles timeline? Is the manga only Evangelion media which sheds light on that?

Yes, as far as I know, the manga is the only Evangelion media to delve more deeply into Kaji's past beyond "went to college with Misato and Ritsuko, and started dating Misato before breaking up with her in this period".

I do also expect Kaji to be there when his story is told, actually, but maybe it would be an interesting scene if Misato called Kaji and asked about the story, but I don't know which would be more dramatic, so I'll trust BG_Character_592 to do what's best in the story.
 
Do want to caution that manga backstory is the first to get axed when anime movies are on the way. This is especially true for Mari's if you look at Mari from Rebuild. Although, she does seem to mingle with Gehirn staff?

Oi! Advice & Trust is the quote unquote "canon" universe, everything else is an AU. It says so right there in the Commandments of Rei, the 12th to be precise.

You're well on your way to out-living A&T, seeing as Stryp's approaching endgame. I for one am looking forward to when (slash if) this thread gets too full and a new one has to be started in order to continue the story.

Anno can become a vtuber to combat depression, just like everybody else does.

I think that may depend on what the SV post limit for a single thread is (I think its pretty high), among other things such as how much activity this thread continues to see after the fic is wrapped up.

Are we certain that the thought hasn't already struck Anno or Anno's staff? I mean, Evangelion is all about disasters of biblical proportions. Especially if there is opportunity to call out the fanbase for their petty infighting (a strong characteristic of any Vtuber).
