Given this thread's track record, i'd wonder if this is almost deserving of a full omake at this point, if that hasn't been done already at some point in the past 1832 pages. Would do it myself if I had the right ideas. :p
Alas, the reading of the last will and testament of Yui Ikari shall have to wait.

Didn't Nobody Dies do a whole boot to the head sequence when Kihl dies?

I seem to remember something like that, as well as the group deciding the proper order for desecrating his grave.

EDIT: Yup. NGE: Nobody Dies Chapter 81: Its the Only Way to be Sure, an evangelion fanfic | FanFiction

Good to hear from you again Strypgia. I don't envy the carrier you have. To ask a question, which Fanfic authors do you think the chronicles cast will like?
I don't think Asuka or Shinji would enjoy Amarantos, alas. :V Too painful for them to watch themselves not bond and love.
They'd be confused as f*ck by Nobody Dies. :D
They might like most of GreggHL's stuff, though. He does AsuShin well.
Ok, what happened to Backstage!Rei? She wasn't like this when the Backstages started, now she could give The Ree a run for their money by mere sheer craziness.
She wasn't? ~innocent~
Backstage!Rei has always been a gregarious, hard partying social butterfly, the full opposite of A&T!Rei, per Backstage's paradigm. She's always been a lot like the Ree, or at least someone who'd get along with them like a party. Even from the beginning, she was always a cheery hedonist who was Backstage!Gendo's biggest customer for recreational pharmaceuticals. ;)
... Wait, Stryp, we all know that you're Aku in disguised form or something, but creating your version of the Ree :o no, please everything but that.
Why? The Ree are perfectly nice girls who would get along fine with the Backstage cast, and are always welcome in Avalon! :)
Does this mean you really like my idea of playing the Evangelion theme at the climactic battle? And what about When She Loved Me?
It means I appreciate the ideas, though I might have some music already picked out. Might be Two Steps From Hell, might be Gurren Lagann, etc.
Is this a Rick And Morty Shout Out?
Never seen the show, and don't want to, so no. I find the animation poor and the characters annoying. Rather watch anime.
I thought Aleph was the sharpest object she could find.
She is remarkably pointy in person, yes.

Oh, that explains everything.

Yes, Stryp... I know it's you Daniel.

OAN I found out on Reddit that on the 15th of September some Doujin Studio is going to release the first chapter of their Evangelion Doujin:

r/evangelion - I Launched my Studio working on An EVANGELION Fan Manga

48 votes and 6 comments so far on Reddit

And it made me think, what do you think of the idea of an Advice & Trust doujin?

They get a lifetime supply of ice cream
And the flavour? Boot to the head!
"You know, Misato, most people wait until after they've passed on to have their will read."

"True, but then I wouldn't get to watch the booting, and there's no fun in that."

It did? Huh. Well, it's a fate befitting such a bastard of a man.
Need to get around to reading ND, one of these days.

In terms of Fanfic authors, I think they would like jcmoorehead. His works are hopeful and kind to them. Another one I think they would like is AngelNo13Bardiel (Ironic name). His work tend to be AsuShin as well, although Shinji and Asuka can get rather intimate in some of his stories. Not sure if that would embarres or encourage them.

From the name alone, I can 100% see Kaworu making a confused face and wondering when any version of his sibling found time to write a book. :p

Is it any worse then anything else they've seen in Chronicles?

Can't argue with that. Not that i necessarily only like series that are all "sugar and rainbows" but Rick And Morty take it too far in how...flawed the characters are. Honestly Everyone from Eva are more healthy compared to them. Also would rather deal with anime, outside of a couple shows and reruns of old ones(like Law And Order).
Wasn't there a story in which the dead angels becamed the shoulder angels of the pilots who had killed them, what was it called?
Yes, they even have their own Tvtropes pages. ...Well i think one does and the other is mentioned on the page.

Here are the pages:

A Little Angel on My Shoulder (Fanfic) - TV Tropes

One day, in the Creative Writing section of Spacebattles.com, a discussion was had regarding ideas for Neon Genesis Evangelion fanfictions. Among them, a single question was asked. "What if, when the Angels are killed, they become literal …

My Enemy My Friend (Fanfic) - TV Tropes

One of the many, many fics originating from Space Battles.com, My Enemy, My Friend (written by K 9 Thefirst 1) is basically a more coherent take on the same idea as the Round Robin NGE: A Little Angel On My Shoulder, i.e., after getting killed, …

So I was looking one of the Picture Threads and when I moved to a new page and it told me something about logging in (I'm a guest on the site), I went to the Board Index and it says that they don't have any forums, so did Evageeks had a brainfart or what?

And it made me think, what do you think of the idea of an Advice & Trust doujin?
Speaking from experience - good luck with that. A short one-shot maybe, but a story of several 100k words in length? Not sure how well of a comparison it is, since it's just my working style - but for example my very simple script for AcL looks like this per page:
Page 19:
  • A bit more running
  • They arrive at a platform
  • Standing there panting. S: "Phew, looks like we made it?" small: "Are we actually too early?" "This is the right platform, isn't it?"
  • A peeved: "What on earth was that about?"
  • S: "I saw our train was about to leave, so I figured we'd need to hurry."
A (deadpan): "Yeah, I don't think you had to worry about that..." Background monitor showing departures being late/cancelled.
Sometimes even just:
Page 20:
  • Various shots of landscape while train is running through.
The script like this is about 10 pages for the current chapter. It will result in 50+ pages for the doujin - and since I tend to want pages to be able to stand on their own, I already cram much more on them than you usually find on your avarage manga page. And yeah, I know, you can't compare it 1:1, long descriptive scenes could become a single panel, dialouge scenes would likely become longer, action scenes could go either way...

Sure, it'd be nice to see more doujins (with plot rather than (just >_>) H). But at a dimension of A&T? I could maybe see that when working professionally on it for many, many years (obviously the entire time, not like me :V). As pure fan project though? Again, yeah, can just compare to myself and I'm certainly not the best/fastest/most efficient artist. But still, my verdict would be: Not very likely.

All of this is why I would settle for only the week of insanity getting the comic treatment.

I'd do it myself, but I have the drawing skills of a drunken Chimpanzee.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but very few sets of a thousand words can be adequately described by one picture :)

We can always imagine, though. And hey, if nothing else, I think we can all agree that A&T is more than deserving of the doujin treatment, if any fanfic were to get it. :D

There's so much untapped potential with Mari it's almost criminal.
Exactly, I agree with you, she has so much wasted potential as a character that's actually a shame; from my point of view, you could do alot of things with her.

For example:
  • Deconstruction of the Genki Girl trope.
  • Sister figure to Asuka.
  • Comic relief.
  • Give her an interesting dynamic with some other character (Like Septimus did with Kaworu or Gryphon with Kensuke).
  • Make her a spy from some other organization that's against NERV (probably SEELE), and have her doubt of what she's doing.

I quite like columns A and E, with a side serving of D.

You're right and I was leaning towards this explanation (just take the Manga for example) but as @Notspecialdude said, maybe we could do focal scenes as the "Trolling Misato Week", the complete first chapter or the battle against Armisael.

With Genocide, of course.

I quite like columns A and E, with a side serving of D.
Well, I really like all of them but I'm happy that you find it of inspiration.
