Not really feasible since EoE takes place on New Year's day... unless SEELE waited literally most of a year before doing anything after Kaworu bit it.
Is the next chapter going to be the one where the origins and true nature of both Rei and Kaworu is reviled? (I hope Shinji goes ballistic about his old man's treatment of someone who could be considered his SISTER. Maybe even getting physical with the guy.)

Don't know who to quote, but we already know Kaji dies the day before Misato's birthday, December 7th, so we already know it is in December for the later part of the show. Actually, I think episode 23 takes place on Christmas Eve/Day. After all, we do have someone die and come back from the dead.

Wrong fic for this. For the sister part I mean. You do realize Shinji and Rei have shared a kiss here already, yes? Rei isn't a sister to Shinji. Rei is someone he loves - romantically.
Genetically, Rei would be a sort of half-sister, but that's just genetics. And for that matter just Rei's body; as we know her soul has a completely different source. Just some chemicals in their bodies that happen to be very similar, nothing more. Shinji had never met Rei before coming to Tokyo-3, never even known she existed. By what reasonable measurement could she be considered family then? He has no reason to consider her family! Somebody you grew up with in a family is family, regardless if genetic or adoptive sibling. Some far away person with which you happen to share some body chemicals isn't.
This insistence on the genetic link between Shinji and Rei is... a bit annoying. Especially here in A&T where the romantic link between the two, even if it is secondary to the romantic link between Shinji and Asuka, has already been well established.
