My point is that there's lots of ways KB could screw things up right now, and we might be forced to talk to it, because we know it is entirely willing to push and keep causing trouble even when we try to get it to go away.

We could start by telling it to go away, but if it doesn't comply, we might have to ask what it wants.

First, it will probably answer what it already did: it is his job as an Incubator to oversee incidents such as these.

Second, I agree ( edit: shit, does anyone know why document saver keeps eating up my words when I go from page to page? ), killing it or throwing it away is going to work only if QB itself allows it. QB is like a troll on a forum with no moderators: insufferable and impossible to get rid of.

Sadly, unless, someone thinks of a valid, logical reason why QB should go away for a moment, the most effective course of action seems to be letting it to say it's piece while mitigating the consequences. Reactionary af, I know.

... We could always try punting him as far as we can again. Maybe we'd score a new record. Too bad it was rainy on that day, so we don't know what the old record was.

Are you hitting the "Save Draft" button before you change pages? Also, don't use the back button on your browser while writing a post, because that will bring up the cached version from when you were on that page previously instead of your latest draft.

The white thing is here because it has need to be, action scene and all that. Anri had witnesses, we made a big entrance, flying saucer(s), Mirai renovating the building, etc. It happened, SNAFU. Likewise, our actions figure into the outcome. On the one had, it has an investment to manage in each Magical Girl, it doesn't cash them in willy nilly. Opportunity is the thing that might set it off. As such, shape the exchange and dosh Kyuubey with our conversation, thus making others less likely to gain its baleful gaze. Try the 'big topic question' approach, as in my prior message? And literally give it Grief. Between fabricating something to say to us, and having to stand about while we load it up with Grief, we can give it a 'highly useful errand' 'feeling.' That's my hope. OTOH, if it tries to use negative social, we would be in the best possible position like this. Therefore, not Kyuubey's style, less likely to happen now. No cute violence needed today, we got more things to do, don't get delayed. And would we feel better by letting Mami see us hold our own in front of it, in a cool and reliable way?

Show some prospective votes? What other actions are each of us wanting right now, or coming soon?

Tangentally, I just learned/remembered that Umika's book isn't just capable of reading minds, but also of copying and reproducing spells, and of applying 'Target: Self' magic it learns to other people (c.f. Rosso Phantasma, however the fuck she discovered it. Ask her if she's ever been to Kasamino/met Kyouko?). There's a little ambiguity as to what exactly constitutes a 'spell', but she's a de facto power copier, like Kazumi and Sayaka. She'd be invaluable to have on the dewitching project, and we should at the very least get her to copy our favorite Mode Of Flying and privacy sphere.

So, Kyuubey...

I'm thinking we do have business with him. Given our current theories on dewitching, our knowledge tells us we need both the witch and a good friend of theirs do do the thing we and Mami do when we use magic on each other. As such, finding whether Aurora, as the first prospect among grief seeds we're involved with, has a friend among living magical girls could prove important to any experiments in dewitching. The alternative is to find the grief seed of a close friend of a magical girl who we know who like knows the witchbomb, which probably means Kato Setsuko's seed. Either way there's a good chance Kyuubey's cooperation would prove necessary, be it to identify the proper seed, or the proper girl. (And if the track is correct, we'll probably want to do both.)

Though, yes, that is something that should be discussed in private.

More immediately, there's both why he's speaking with us here to be concerned with and possibly what exactly he originally said, and is saying, to Anri and Hijiri. (Though current affairs of that is something I'd much rather ask Hijiri herself.)

To the first, it's a simple matter of outright asking.

Something like
[] Ask him why he's specifically speaking to us instead of acting from afar.

Track wise, I'm also kinda inclined to find a way to fit in the fact that he's distressing Mami.

EDIT: Onmur, I don't think that's wise. If you really think this is a trap then us doing what we've been seen to do most frequently and reliably is the option most likely to play into Kyuubey's hand.

Since Niko is shaken, would you consider asking Kazumi to OK bringing up such those heavy topics she knows are so bad, both Niko and us keep secret from her?

Because Niko is shaken, I don't expect her to be up for talking, and I don't want or intend for us to push or pressure her at all. I just want us to set up an appointment to talk at some point, because if we keep always waiting for the perfect opportunity to do thing, thing never gets done. Asking Kazumi for permission to talk to Niko about the things she just told us Niko knows but she doesn't seems... odd?

I would see even bringing up such heavy topics to someone who's currently so emotionally shaken to be something of a faux pas... and a nice way to piss off their friends/family once they find out.

Kazumi's the leader of the group, not just their primary cuddle provider ( :V ).

If we're to prod Niko about bombs, I'd either check with Kazumi if she feels that's an OK thing to ask of Niko right now, or wait until she's better and ask then.

... Actually, I'm feeling maybe we should wait on this. I know, sounds like procrastination, but Niko's badly shaken and Hijiri's still out there. I wouldn't spring the SV SPECIAL SUBTLE infohazards-hints on her right now.

I somehow feel like I didn't make the conditionals obvious or explicit enough, because you don't seem to have noticed them? We bring up anything at all IF she feels like talking about research, WHEN she feels well enough to do so. Additionally, probing for hazards with Kazumi went absolutely as optimally is it could have, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I think it's a little premature to pester the Saints, since they're still convening amongst themselves and the Kures haven't even started on Airi.

First of all: There's a 150 word limit on votes. This vote is over 460 words long. Please, try to trim it down. You're spending a lot of time rambling about things that can be done in a single line with the particulars left to Sabrina.

Now, onto more content based issues. The Pleiades are currently calming down. Saying "Hijiri is IN YOUR HOUSE" is extremely counterproductive. Kazumi and Niko aren't idiots, and knowing both Hijiri's motives and her powers, they can prepare appropriately themselves.

By the same token, pressuring Niko re Hijiri is very premature. Let her come to terms with this first. And using Mami's puppets specifically to help with some weird roleplay therapy thing is an idea you seem... very unusually attached to, given how many words you spent on it.

I'm not sure how an anti-telepathy enchantment is useful as a backup in addition to the anti-magic one - if Airi regains her magic, it'll be trivial for her to remove any other enchantments we placed on her. That said, keeping her out of touch of Hijiri so their issues don't feed on each other is probably prudent, and anti-magic on its own might not actually prevent telepathy.

Hijiri only ran away like 10 minutes ago. Give her some freaking time! Also, I'm not at all sure where you're going with your whole "etiquette is important" thing. Also, bringing up the original Yuuri while trying not to discuss Airi seems very counterproductive.

I'm very much against talking to QB about general science at the current point in time, and I'm especially against discussing grief seeds and soul gems in front of Mami what the hell are you doing

Contacting Hitomi is fine, but I'm not sure why it's so terse when you spent >100 words talking about puppets earlier.

Earlier I was all "I trust Kazumi, let's go through her", but the volatile moods thing and the not-being-witchbombed are changing my mind on that.
It sounds like Niko's in charge of Niko; let's try talking to Niko.
