I mean, yes, probably she's the actual and only culprit. But we would feel awfully bad if it turned out that we were missing key facts and there's another troublemaker out there that we're ignoring because we jumped on the first shady person we met and blamed her for everything wrong, when she might only be responsible for 50% of what's wrong.

That's similar to what I was thinking with her being mind-whammied. As there would still be someone out there who mind-whammied her to cause this distraction.

Right. She could be the whole problem, but it's possible she had a partner. Or she's being used as a stooge by somebody else. Or she's been in the memory field so long she doesn't even know what's going on.

Or, this could be a comic book plot, and Niko was attacked by another magical girl out to steal the memory thingy, and Hijiri was nearby and intervened to protect her, grabbed the McGuffin, and ran, and thinks we're the bad guys out to finish the job.

Or something. The point being, just because you have one suspect in hand, doesn't mean the case is solved.

You know what's irksome about this situation? The Memory Device is shutting down all our hug-based takedown measures.

It does, however, constitute a hard lead.

If Hijiri can identify the true culprit further, then we'll have a much tighter search area, or at least much tighter search parameters.

There's only so deep this rabbit hole goes. Let's use the bird in our hand to see if there are any other birds out in the bushes.

Although I do agree there should be something in there about asking the basic things first. Like if there's any particular reason she's so scared of us or if she's just assuming, or why she has the memory device. It would be good to get the big things out of the way so we can focus on calming her down.
 
I've read through the past 9 pages and pretty much agree with most of what's been up. But Karne's most especially rings well with me.

Looks good enough to me. The big, important thing is that we aren't fucking handcuffing her holy shit are you insane? It's fucking useless anyway! She's a goddamn magical girl! Anything we make out of mundane materials might as well be made of tissue paper. And it's guarantee to make everything worse - the Pleiades won't like it, Mami and Sayaka won't like it, and it is the only thing I've yet seen proposed that would guarantee that Kanna tries to kill us on the spot. If this is how you intend to treat her, no wonder you're worried about her going nuts at us!

Handcuffing Hijiri is worse than useless. She can break out of them, and they're guaranteed to rile her up and make her feel not safe and that she has no leverage. When you have someone in total hysterics over being cornered you don't box them in further.

Actually, fuck - how much magic do we think she spent there? I remember someone saying that the move she was using was Kazumi's finisher, plus she's probably feeding the memory device, and we can't monitor her grief right now. And her behavior right now - Is she spiraling?

I do not want to time-skip here - even if Hijiri isn't spiralling right now, if she keeps behaving like this, she's going to be spiralling unless we do something about it. The "if she's cooperating" probably makes it worse, since it implies a vote-path where she isn't cooperating.

Maybe even add something like:

[] If Hijiri isn't calming down, declare grief spiral, get immediate party reactions, and break to voting.
