[ ] Send out an emergency call to all of Team Mitakihara and Team Oracle as you head up the stairs
-[ ] We're currently under a "Empty Quiver" Scenario - a Clear Seed has been stolen from our allies in Asunaro
-[ ] Consider Mitakihara currently under a MAJCOM 1 threat level. We have unknown actors with effectively unlimited power at large in the world.
-[ ] All active Magical Girls are to report to Mami's apartment rooftop ASAP for briefing and positioning (If Homura would assist Sayaka, we'd appreciate it). All Potentiates and Human Resources are to remain on high alert for threats and stay in communication with Sabrina or Mami. Detainee's are to remain on standby in case we require them.

[ ] Once Homu and Sayaka arrive, Timestop planning
-[ ] If Homura agrees, bring in the Pleiades. If not, we can brief them on the way.
-[ ] We currently have at least one individual free and active with a Clear Seed. Individual has an unknown means of subduing magical girls for extended periods of time and should be treated as a dangerous and hostile entity.
-[ ] We'd prefer to leave a large rearguard - if Asunaro was attacked, Mitakihara could be as well.
-[ ] We intend to go in, investigate the scene and try to find and destroy the target as soon as possible. If everyone's metabombed, mention that metaknowledge suggests the thief is mentally unhinged and possibly beyond redemption. Gem if possible. Mulch if not.
-[ ] Collateral damage is regrettable, but not a concern. We're going to stomp on their throat as hard as we can, and we don't care how much pavement that cracks.

Again, once we're done with her Hijiri's either going to look like Jack Skellington fell in a vat of white paint, or look like a pile of oddly human hamburger meat. We need to send a message here, and this message needs to be NO so loudly and firmly that Kim Jong Un flinches away from his nuclear button for a minute.

[x] Wake Homura and Sayaka and inform them Asunaro's in crisis. You'd like to work out a plan with them and Mami using Homura's power.
-[x] Ask Homura to pick up Sayaka and come over.

[x] Keep gathering information and calming the situation down as you wait.

[x] In Timestop: Go over the Asunaro situation. Rehash Oriko/metaknowledge as needed to fill Sayaka in and refresh memories. Hypothesize potential enemy actors.
-[x] In addition to not leaving Mami's friends in a crisis, you can't let the precedent of people stealing Clear Seeds and getting away develop.

[x] Who's coming, who's staying on Mitakihara overwatch?
-[x] You'd like at least one anti-mind control trump card to come along, be that Homura's timestop, or access to antimagic. Sayaka can copy it from Kirika.

[x] Don't be pushy, accept others insights and opinions, and respect both Sayaka's desire to contribute and Homura's wishes.

I understand that the theft of the Clear Seed is a big concern, but all this throwing around of "empty quiver" and MAJCON1 is seeming rather histrionic and overdone.

I'm appreciative of Redshirt's measured tone in their vote.

More relevant is that the other girls probably won't understand the references, sowing confusion rather than instilling purpose. Code phrases only work if they've been established ahead of time or the participants have enough shared context to deduce their meaning.

Get moving towards the roof instead of waiting inside. Moving will help calm everyone's nerves.
Concerned that changing location might make it harder for Homura to find us when she arrives.

Have the Asunaro girls spend the time packing their bags instead, since that's a thing they'll need to do if they're leaving.

I suspect that some of the overreaction was mostly because hyperbole and overreaction is fun. [In certain situations that don't result in Sabrina suddenly becoming a /k/ operator by accident because jokevotes are still votes]

Mmm, you know, it's really unfortunate that dropping nukes on people isn't going to work. For one thing, y'all need to know who to nuke.

Well Homura's most useful here. Sayaka might be reasonable for extra firepower but she actually needs the sleep for school and there's no info on the situation that warrants her particular skillset.

A sleepy, 5-second threat assessment suggests that some kind of sensor-type magical girl would be useful for detecting and tracking the Mystery Assailant. Dunno if that's something Sayaka can do, but doesn't sound like it.
We're definitely taking Sayaka. Are you kidding me? We just got done telling her that she's useful and important and that she's not a burden, and you're suggesting leaving her behind on the first crisis that has happened since she contracted?

Clearly we need to establish a good threat severity chart for future use.

I suggest we go by Mami reaction. We could put a picture of Mami with the appropriate emotional response to the current situation.

So, it would be like:

Current Threat Status:
-- Happy
-- Frowny
-- Angry
-- Worried
-- Drinking Tea
-- Oh, Sabrina

Also, I just had a thought, Madoka's smart.

Why that is currently relevant is that many have suggested that Madoka wouldn't contract if we explain how she would transform into a powerful witch.

However after having been around Sabrina for so long she could easily point out, "What if I wish for powers like yours?"

I'll be voting for no timestop conference, just to be different.

[X] Get moving to the roof for take off.

[X] Telepathy all your friends, including Oriko and Kirika. Apologize for waking them; explain the emergency.
-[X] Ask for meguca volunteers.
--[X] In case O/K volunteer and Homura denies them, argue that their help would be very useful, considering what you'll have to deal with. Don't push.
-[X] Reassure people as necessary.

[X] Confer with the Pleiades while moving:
-[X] Ask about their tracking measures.
-[X] Ask that they stick together and wait for reinforcements.
-[X] Ask Umika if her powers would help in finding out exactly what happened to Niko.

[X] Take off, maximum speed. Pick up anyone who volunteered to help.

Yep. The actual reason we don't want Madoka to contract is that it would make Homura sad. Nothing more, nothing less, and unless our explanation includes the loopbomb, it's flawed.

And if Madoka makes a wish that both prevents her from becoming a witch and somehow gets Homura's approval? Mission. Fucking. Accomplished. Those are all the grievances I have with the idea of her wishing addressed.

It's an awkward situation, because someone needs to stay behind on Madoka duty, but who? Mami's already insisted that she's coming. We probably want Homura's timestop for this, but she may not want to come. Sayaka could potentially be super useful and will probably want to come, unless we explain to her the true importance of protecting Madoka.

I've brought up that scenario before. There are two wrong things I'm aware of.

1. Homura' s PTSD
2. If she wishes for our exact powerset, that's putting all our eggs in one basket. If there's no discovery that could be made or facilitated via grief control to improve the system further than what we're doing then the game is over.

I have hypothesized other ideas though, they can't address 1, but they can at least address 2.

Like Madoka wishing Sabrina's powers could von Neumann other Magical Girls powers, then us making her into a griefbender and we all spread griefbending to the masses. With widespread contracting, easy ability to become a griefbender, and viable grief transhumanism this leads to the weird Rakshasa parties past the heat death of the universe scenario.

Sayaka is not rational. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that she only feel satisfied when she is Doing Something. Even if she stops an attack while on guard duty she would have trouble forming positive emotions about it. If she doesn't get attacked, which I feel is by far the more likely scenario, she'll absolutely see it as having been sidelined no matter how much we argue with her. She needs to come with us.

"Okay Meduka-"

"Who?"

"I meant Madoka. Anyway it's like this: once upon a time there was a sickly depressed girl who had a shitty life and nobody loved. Naturally she was total witch bait, but she got saved by a super cool magical girl sempai who cared about her when nobody else did."

"..."
"Uh-"

"That girls name was Akemi Homura, and her senpai was Kaname Madoka. Anyway, Kaname Madoka tried to protect her city from Walpurgisnacht, but she failed and died. Hameru was so upset that she made a wish to go back in time and see Meduka again, but be the one doing the protec this time."

"What!?"

"But then Hameru and her new timeline friends discovered something horrible: that QB is an alien used car salesman who totally caused the witch problem in the first place, since magical girls become witches when their gems are full-"

"Bwuh?!"

"Yeah, it's super clever wordplay, see - "mahou shoujo" becomes "majo"? Eh? Ehh? Tough crowd."

"..."
"..."

"Anyway finding out she'd been used as a recruiter for years to farm her students eternal suffering to power alien smoothie makers made Mumi go crazy for some reason, so she tried to murder-suicide all her friends, but Meduka killed her after only a few deaths. Then her and Hameru got smooshed by Walpurgisnacht and Meduka made Hameru promise not to let her get tricked next time before forcing Hameru to kill her."

"...oh no..."

"Naturally all this trauma made Hameru psychotic on the point of never ever letting Meduka contract ever again, as she tried to kill Walmart a few dozen dozen more times but failed because she's a scrub, somehow never realizing that her tying all those timelines together was what was making Meduka's potential fucking explode in size despite how obvious it is."

"...what."
"Um."

"And then in the last timeline before this one, Meduka wished to fix everything and shot a "fix everything" arrow at the european witch Walmart, and in a totally unrelated event, a totally OP european guca showed up in this timeline with no memories or past. (Psst, that's me!)"

"...what."

"So anyway that's everything. Any questions?"

"...what."
"Sabrina, why?"
