Homura must be present for the questioning. She is the only person other than Sabrina that knows anything about this situation and not having her here to participate is a major failure. Call her up front.

We should have Homura pick up Sayaka on the way here, I think. Sayaka's going to want to be involved in this no matter what we do. I bet she'd be annoyed if we went ahead with the questioning without her.

I don't follow this at all. Once we infodump they'll know everything we know. Well, except for the part where we'll need to go back over the entire questioning afterward to ensure they update on the new evidence. So I guess that that's another reason to go first, so we don't have to infodump both the metaknowledge and our conclusions. Hell, not needing to share our conclusions is yet another reason to infodump first - it means that we get four people properly examining the questioning instead of one.

Could someone please provide some arguments for the infodump coming after the questioning? I've gotten a lot of "Why do you want to do it first" but nothing like "Here's why we shouldn't do it first".

I feel like you're imagining the duration of the questioning very differently from me. I'll be more explicit about time commitments.

-[x] Inquire if Niko is alright, and if the thief is still there.
--[x] If the situation in Asunaro is still hot, contact Homura immediately.
--[x] Otherwise, get everyone calmed down and focused, and aquire critical information. Is anyone hurt? Does she know what was stolen and broken? When did the robbery happen? Be expedient - aim to have this information in under two minutes.

[x] Kazumi is the leader of the Pleiades Saints, don't disrespect or undermine her authority with respect to that group. Agree to provide rapid transport to Asunaro for her, and offer Mitakihara's assistance.
-[x] If the Clear Seed was stolen, full battlestations. You need to make an example of how you'll respond to that sort of thing.

Ah, yeah. I was reading that as "Open Telepathy to the entire Saints group and begin an in-depth investigation". A sixty-second brief is much more workable, both from the perspective of not wasting time (Kazumi may not realize that every second counts because she doesn't think she can get there fast enough for seconds to matter) and from the perspective of optimal information analysis.

edit: Yeah, Homura and Sayaka don't necessarily need to be there for a sixty-second who-what-when-where, we can relay that word-for-word once we're stopped and explaining in detail.

I guess, if the situation is urgent (that is, if it is/was recent enough that we still have some information about the attacker's location), we get a short update ending in a timestop and a "what do"?

Thank you for doing this before I did. I'd like to suggest adding a clause about contacting Niko just on the off chance they're getting MitM'd by the clone. (I know it's early in the timeline, but do we have any confirmation at all that we did, in fact, meet the original Niko?)

And yeah, determining if we need Homerun should take all of ten seconds.

Looking at this again, I'm fairly certain now that Niko has been kidnapped.
  • "Apparently" means that Niko having been attacked is an inference instead of a fact.
  • The evidence presented for Niko being attacked is "her lab is damaged and there are things missing", and additionally the evidence is in the past tense.
  • We were told that Niko would not sleep for days while studying the Clear Seed.
  • Why would the subject of the attack be Niko when all of the evidence is the lab?
  • Damage to Niko's lab would only be evidence for Niko having been attacked if Niko was in the lab.
  • Niko was awake and in her lab when it was attacked.
  • If Niko was awake and in her lab, why did she not call for help?
Conclusion: Niko was subdued so fast that she didn't even get a call for help out, the attack was discovered some time after the fact when someone went to check on her and found her lab wrecked and Niko missing, and Niko is still out of communication.


Unrelated: Having asked Mami about seeing connections between people is going to look awfully suspicious when we have her use that to track down Niko.

If Sayaka's copied our illusionist neighbor's power, she should be able to do her tracking thing. If not we should fix that, perhaps at a more reasonable hour.

I don't like arguing.

Anyway, I caught up around the time we started cleansing trips, and then stalked the live thread up until now.
