So, I believe I've mentioned a list of things that Sayaka would have prevented had things gone exactly according to canon. (Faster Mami response time for Charlotte hatching, not starting a fight with Kyousuke over the music player, preempting Hitomi's ultimatum.)

To make it a testable hypothesis, I decided I'd look for something she should have interacted with in some way if that's consistent. First thing that comes to mind is Hitomi's witch kiss. On April 5th, in PMMM, Hitomi is kissed by a witch, and absent from school.

Before I lay out the findings, I should lay out the caveat: On April 4th, in PMAS, we lichbomb Sayaka, and there's a fair amount of discussion of her feelings about Hitomi.


Regardless as we walk to school the next morning we see this:

A few minutes later, Hitomi's car pulls up, a middle-aged man -her father, presumably- bidding her farewell. Sayaka moves forward, taking Hitomi's bag, while the green haired girl disembarks from the car, manoeuvring her cast carefully. "Good morning, everyone. Ah, thanks, Sayaka."

"Good morning, Hitomi!" Madoka greets brightly, and the rest of you echo greetings.

"So anyway, guess I'll see you girls later," you say.

"Ah, see you later, Sabrina!" Madoka says.

"See you!" Sayaka says, a school bag in either hand.

"See you, Sabrina," Hitomi says.

Homura nods. "See you."

Nothing suspicious in particular seems to happen for the rest of the day. (The only notable other things that happens is that it's the day with clue in Hitomi and start healing Kyousuke. Sayaka is initially on the fence but decided by an argument for how it would affect their relationship. Which is, ah, not exactly much. At the end of the day Hitomi says she'll be staying at the hospital for her father to pick her up. Nobody really comments on it.)

Even so, on the day Hitomi would be absent and in danger in PMMM, Sayaka waits for her to show up at school.
 
This vote conga line is stupid and just serves to make the thread harder to understand for any newbies hoping to vote.

If you mean arranging a business meeting, we kind of should go one thing at a time. We've already agreed to help Haruka bring Fujio into the magical side of things.

Also, us being who we are, we will have words with the Shizukis about the fact that most potential magical employees are minors.

For now, we should try to impress them next time we meet.
 
So let me get this straight.

Sayaka copies powers, but she copies POWERS, while Kazumi copies the effects of powers?

So if Sayaka sees a trick that she isn't skilled enough to replicate with her on-hand powers, she can cheat by copying the end result by emulating it with Kazumi's powers?

I can get that, basically.

But how does the reverse work? Kazumi emulating Sayaka's powers? Or does she copy the result of creating a power gem?
 
Kazumi copying a thing Sayaka makes should work just like any other meguca. We don't know how or if copying power gems might work.

When I imagine an unsubtle conversation with Sayaka in a Privacy Sphere, it always ends with her saying: "No, I'm not an angel of Madoka. What makes you think that? What do you know that I don't?" and then we have to share a whole lot more information than we intended or we'll lose her trust.

Maybe you've got a line of questioning that gets the information we want without oversharing, but I can't think of one.

I'm not opposed to talking to her about being happy, but I think we should offer something more productive than that she deserves it. "I've thought about your question more, and..." or something like that. We kinda really dropped the ball with our last answer.
