That went well. I still wonder why Kyuubey never removed Hitmommy's knowledge of magical girls though, if she nearly forgot about it on her own it should have been child's play to just erase that knowledge completely.

I imagine because it wasn't just a one time exposure, but a long stretch of it over many months or years.

It probably didn't see the need to expend the effort completely rewriting her brain like that. Just break a few associations and watch as the average human becomes unable to access part of their memories ever again. Versus editing an entire year or so of memories.

If you squint, efficiency is just an elaborate way to say 'lazy'. :p

That went the best way possible, dissapointingly mundane. I need more excitement.

[Q] Hey girls! I have another Shocking news to share!
-[Q] Not only you are basically bound to fight forever. If your soul reach full black, you are becoming the very monster you are fighting against!
--[Q] Oh dear, it's seems my girlfriend can't handle the truth! Time for hammer... *shot*

[:V] Soul gem break. Game over.

Keeping all those friends of meguca amnesia'd is probably outside of Coobie's budget. Come to think of it, maybe it's willing to risk Madoka Wishing in canon because it's already in trouble with its superiors for wasting energy? :V
Edit: damn English and its apostrophes

I'm pretty sure KB just doesn't mindwipe meguca friends.

Or Tsuchiya asked.

Still don't see what the fuss is about.

Why does Kyubey never lie? He operates under rules.

Not erasing the memories of people who magical girls want to be in the know seems to be one of them.

This is likely what happened. Especially if Haruka was unlikely to say something in the intervening time it took to properly forget.

As for the metabomb, I don't think we need to do it right now, but I think we should do it before everybody splits up and heads home, that way we can pull aside seikyu and/or Hitomi for a private conversation with some measure of tact... intact.

The real question is where? Haruka or MOUNT FUJI might notice a giant ball of darkest despair floating in their living room when we raise the privacy barrier, but is that better than locking down a bathroom for however long we talk with Homura? Should we fly up to the roof?

This chapter should've been titled "Much Ado About Nothing". :V

Not just rules, some kind of alien ethical code. He tells Madoka that the Incubators view humans like humans view cattle, but recognize them as fellow sentients/sapients, and as such feel obligated to at least try to pretend to deal with them fairly. That's why magical girls are a thing, and we aren't all in some kind of global Matrix being farmed for our nightmares.

[x] Now
- [x] Ask about metabombing Sayaka and Hitomi
- [x] All relevant points. Answer all questions they have
- [x] At Mami's home as soon as convenient bluntly over tea
[x] Find out the status of Tsuchiya Ritsuko from Kyuubey, later.

Honestly I think the rule might very well be that it can't take anyone's memories against their, or a proxy's, will. But since it ensures to never reveal itself to anyone it mindwipes it's never explicitly rebuffed from doing so and thus doesn't know for sure that it's against the subject's will and so can continue.

Sort of like someone programmed it not to lie, mess with people's minds, etc but they failed to quite test how it actually worked. And so Kyubey is left following the letter of the law but the letter of the law doesn't quite encompass the spirit.

So, the alternate reading for Sayaka here is hilarious.

Sabrina: It's like we're some kind of larval form
Sayaka: Are you joking about the fucking Witchbomb?

Mind you, this one could be completely innocent no matter how much of an "Angel" Sayaka is given how it came up. But it does have me laughing.

Also, Hitomi is probably going to stay after we go home, so either we drop the metabomb before leaving today, or wait for the next opportunity.
