*Disentangles from Mami and approaches Homura*

*Questioning look*

"Come on now, it's tradition."

*Wild eyed look at Madoka and Mami*

*Puzzled look?*

*Puzzled look*
"We could do this later-"

*Hugs Homura*

"..."
"Oh..."
*Giggles*

*Hugs Sabrina*

That went well. I still wonder why Kyuubey never removed Hitmommy's knowledge of magical girls though, if she nearly forgot about it on her own it should have been child's play to just erase that knowledge completely.
Actually...

I'm thinking we've misunderstood his method.

Recall that she had forgotten, but remembered "recently."

I wonder if "recently" was right after Sabrina asked Kyubey to stop erasing the memories of her friends and their families. Kyubey apparently decided to restore lost memories in that category as well...which makes sense if it's an effect that has to be maintained. Suppressing memories, not simply deleting them.

If that were the case, Mikiparents would have remembered things, too.

I don't think the wording of KB's agreement with us would fit that, anyway.

Really liking the dynamics between Sabrina and Sayaka, Sayaka and Madoka, and Hitomi and Sabrina. That Mami seems to just "get" what Sabrina's going for in the whole "nonchalant breaking the shocking news" act immediately is just a nice bonus. Sabrina has a good sense of humor, and Sayaka makes for a great foil to that.

It's interesting that Mami is so big on physical affection/comfort, given the whole Japanese background. By no means bad--just the opposite--but interesting. It also shows just how much it helps her, too.

And yeah, that meeting went really well. That's a relief. Haruka is pretty awesome.

As for the vote...why not leave the metabomb for once they finish their homework and stuff?

This chapter should've been titled "Much Ado About Nothing". :V

Not just rules, some kind of alien ethical code. He tells Madoka that the Incubators view humans like humans view cattle, but recognize them as fellow sentients/sapients, and as such feel obligated to at least try to pretend to deal with them fairly. That's why magical girls are a thing, and we aren't all in some kind of global Matrix being farmed for our nightmares.
Also, doing it like that might not work - the gain is from emotions. If the world as a whole was made terrible instead of keeping things restricted to the most efficiently emotional people, they might end up only being able to harvest depressed apathy. People would burn out.

I think we can do this timestop now. The heavy timestop will be the actual metabomb, that should be after hw.

I think we should address the future of Mami's and Sabrina's relationship. Namely, the next increase of affection from Sabrina towards Mami.

... I think Sabrina should soon start kissing Mami on both cheeks.

Let's vary our displays of affection. Have we ever given Mami a Luminous?

Edit to avoid doublepost: Going into timestop now seems redundant. What are we gonna do, enter timestop to tell people we will want to speak to them in timestop later? Let's talk after they finish their homework.

Well, glad we're done with THAT stressful situation. We did decently well, though I feel a bit bad anyway. Both that we had to get into that topic at all right now and that we haven't even gotten to the worst parts.

IIRC the mods said that they would allow one chaste kiss on the lips for the whole quest? Because I guess 15 year olds are too young for kissing.

I'm just going to register my general bafflement at this.

There's always a bunch of creepers ready to jump and creep all over any thread if you don't draw line well, well into the safe side.

[x] Now
- [x] Ask about metabombing Sayaka and Hitomi
- [x] All relevant points. Answer all questions they have
- [x] At Mami's home as soon as convenient bluntly over tea
[x] Find out the status of TsuchiyaRitsuko from Kyuubey, later.

Is time now, yes?

[X] Not exactly now, but sometime before everyone splits up.
-[X] Once that happens, Privacy implements for extra security.
-[X] Discuss metabombing Sayaka and Hitomi
-[X] If everyone agrees, pull one or both into the conversation
-[X] Metabomb them
-[X] While in there, no point in not having a meeting about what you discussed with Hitomi's mother.
-[X] Add in that you've been pondering making a business deal with the Shizuki's for a while now, and go over what you might do to earn your money. What do the Shizuki's do for a living, as a family?
[X] If everything goes smoothly, dissolve privacy constructs and then drop timestop.
[X] Thank Homura for being so accommodating with your use of her power. You really appreciate how much she puts into your relationship.
[X] Head back to Mami's place with the Pleiades, chatting amicably

Point 1: If we're using timestop, it doesn't matter when exactly we do it, as long as we haven't said our goodbyes.

Point 2: Adding privacy implements is good sense. Even if they're useless, if we throw up a privacy shield every time we have a big conversation, it will obscure when we actually need it and help to keep the extent of our knowledge quiet.

Point 3: The most efficient way to do this would be to pull the others into the timestop with us rather than have two separate timestops. That's another reason I'm flexible on when we do this timestop - we'd want it to come at the least awkward time, preferably after homework is done but before everyone's ready to stop chilling with friends. I think we should get Homura and Mami's input on if we should let the Pleiades know we're having a team meeting. Probably doesn't really matter, but worth a bit of discussion to make sure Mami can curb our autism if it's present.

Point 4: Especially if we bring Hitomi in, and even if not, we should discuss what we talked about with Hitomi's mom. Just as a general information sharing excercise, and to help obscure how long and what about we discussed, but also because it'll help put everyone on the same track of mind vis-a-vis Letting select adults into the masquerade for business or other reasons. If she lives long enough, Sayaka may want to get married, presumably to a boy, who probably wasn't a meguca. Gucabombing adults should have some kind of standardized procedures, even if it's a rough list of guidelines.

Point 5: Bring up the business deal part of our conversation. Haruka hinted she'd be open to it, so it'd be nice to have an idea from Hitomi what she does as a business so that we can start to plan ways of helping her make dosh so we can have dosh. And perhaps others in our group would have novel ideas - Perhaps Mami's parents were CEOs of a local company which she still holds significant shares in, and perhaps we can get backing from them as well or alternatively to the Shizukis. Or maybe the Mikiparents are more direct hirers and can provide an easy access point for young girls to get jobs, especially under the table without IDs.

Point 6: The conversation may be long, but it could be short if everyone's passive about their bank account, like most 14 year olds. If that's the case, the end of the vote provides additional instruction to pad out the end of the update.

[X] Now.
-[X] Ask about metabombing Sayaka and Hitomi.

[X] After timestop, and after everybody's done their homework, comment:
-[X] What Hitomi's mom knows about magic.
-[X] Hitomi's dad needs to be brought into the know.
-[X] Points you'll look to hit next conversation with Hitomiparents: System Breaking; magic+adult business = meguca care.

Hmm, yeah, doubt Hitomi herself should recieve the whole System-Break Adult-Supervision Speech, but maybe mention it after the timestop. I think bringing Hitodad in the know was already mentioned by Hitomom? For now, Onmur's vote seems good.

So, the alternate reading for Sayaka here is hilarious.
Sabrina: It's like we're some kind of larval form
Sayaka: Are you joking about the fucking Witchbomb?
Mind you, this one could be completely innocent no matter how much of an "Angel" Sayaka is given how it came up. But it does have me laughing.

Relatedly to this brilliant observation, notice this... its a bit redundant, but is Sayaka acknowledging Madokami and beseeching her help here? :V
"Oh my god stop," Sayaka complains. "Madoka, make her stop."

We need to have more sleep overs at Madokas place to check if Madoka's mom new a Guca.

Also the look on Homura's face when we propose it.
Sabrina: Sleepover at Madoka's!
Madoka: yay!
Homura: [panics internally]

....Fine, guess we're gonna have to see how long before she lets slip "Madokami", which totally isn't going to take forever.
>: (
A angel doesn't fuck up soon, nor does she fuck up late. She fucks up precisely when she needs to.

We've already had a sleepover at the Kaname's, and nobody said anything. I think Tatsuya made a odd face? But that's all, and he's like, two.

We should definitely Gucabomb the Kaname's at some point since they have casual access to Madoka and thus have the best means of keeping an eye on her, but I don't think they're coming primed like Hitommy. We also ought to bomb the Miki's, but we have to be careful since they have a daughter who is Meguca and thus are very likely to have a much stronger reaction. Sayaka will be involved.

Preferably, we use our experience with the other two to build a plan on how to bomb the Miki's. We could probably even get the other adults to help, although I doubt they'd be too much good there personally - if one of Sayaka's parents flips a lid, Haruka telling them to calm down is only going to irritate them further.

It's a bad situation, but it could be far worse. We have an opportunity to fix it - let's not make the U.S Government proud and let a problem sit for 70+ years.

Kami is gender-neutral, and it seems likely that that is the word that she would have used.
If she sings "God is a girl" at our next karaoke session, then we can start taking the Mikiel conspiracy seriously. :V
