"I think I'll change it up today, maybe pink hair ribbons." As she reaches for the hair ribbons that she previously was wearing all morning but now are inexplicably sitting on the dresser and ties them into the exact same hairstyle she had earlier when waking up.
Homura then proceeds downstairs into the empty kitchen "good morning Mom,"
"Good morning Madoka," says Homura, suddenly behind the counter in a business suit speaking to the empty air that she previously occupied, "I made you a nice breakfast so you may enjoy your first day at school. Also I booked the family for a vacation to visit The World's Strongest Bomb Shelter April 30th. It shall be explicitly not 'a blast.'" as she slides a plate of pancakes and bacon to a empty spot at the counter.
"Thanks Mom! That sounds like fun!" says Homura, suddenly back in her 'Madoka' costume and sitting at the spot where breakfast was 'served', "While I am certain nothing bad will happen April 30th, I am sure I will enjoy our trip to the most secure building in the world!"
"Bye Mom, Bye Tasyuya!" Homura says after finishing breakfast. Walking out the front door.
"Goo Goo, Gaa Gaa. I am a baby and therefore cannot understand anything," Says Homura in her standard Magical Girl Outfit while sitting on Tasyuya's highchair.
Back in her 'Madoka' costume Homura is running down the path to Mitihara Middle School, when she suddenly stops and starts waving at empty air, "Sayaka, Hitomi! Wait up!"

"Yes, it is very concerning." says Homura, suddenly a few feet to the side and wearing yet another Mitihara Middle School Uniform, this time with a nametag that says 'Hitomi' stapled to the front and the palms of her hands never leaving her cheeks. "You see, both Sayaka and I have inexplicable crushes on Dumb Violin Kid, however I have been actively dating him for a while now and he hasn't shown any romantic interest in Sayaka at all."
"Yeah!" Responds 'Sayaka' Homura, "And I've never asked Dumb Violin Kid if he would ever go out with me, and he seems more interested in his violin than me (or any other girl). We are at a real conundrum here, since we are both friends and don't want to fight over a guy that we both have clearly equal chances at seducing. We would ask his opinion but he just whines about his violin."
"Well, since Hitomi is actually dating Dumb Violin Kid," says 'Madoka' Homura "Why don't you try looking for someone who actually cares about your opinion and has actually positive character traits? I would go out with you, but I have a feeling I am going to meet my cool, beautiful, suave, strong, smart, soulmate/bodyguard in roughly 30 minutes. How about that random sempai just over there, she looks like she could use a friend!" Pointing out into empty space.
"Who, me?" Says Homura now occupying the indicated space with yet another School Uniform on, this time with her head tucked into the shirt and two large boring drill bits tied to the collar. "I-I would love to meet new friends! The one I currently have is kinda terrible and I have been hoping to find a new one to replace him anyways!"
"Or maybe that homeless girl" Says 'Madoka' Indicating a separate empty space.
"Me?" Says Homura, dressed in Kyoko's Magical Girl Outfit and occupying the indicated space, "I am currently a very grumpy person who acts like she doesn't need anyone, but actually really does and will turn out to be a rather nice a funloving girlfriend once I work through my issues."
"But Madoka!" says 'Sayaka' Homura, "I am not a lesbian!"
"Yes, cause your Bisexual." responds 'Madoka' Homura.
"You're right Madoka, thank you for solving our pointless drama over a Violin Obsessed Nerd. I might have done something crazy and overdramatic to 'make him mine'" says 'Sayaka' Homura as she bows and spills the blueberries all over the ground.
"Do you want to make a contract and become a Magical Girl?" ask Homura sitting on the fence wearing the stitched together hides of Incubators assembled into a surprisingly comfortable and clean Incubator Costume.
"No, my parents told me not to talk to strangers and I will not suddenly go against that advice just because you look cute." says 'Madoka' Homura.
"Also, your not my friend anymore!" Says 'Random Sempai' Homura.
"Alright, I will go away forever and stop making things worse for everybody." says 'Incubator' Homura.
"Today is looking to be a fine day!" says 'Madoka' Homura, "I should strive to make every day like today!"
And then Homura shared a group laugh with all of her friends in the silent streets of Mitihara, The morning sun bright off of the shatter glass of the fallen skyscrapers and support beams strewn about like so many twigs blown about in a heavy wind.

If we're getting Kyuubey in on this science session, shouldn't we change the experiments to things that we'd get the most out of Kyuubey contributing to? Or are we planning on making a habit of this?
I don't see how we can determine whether or not she's in a desperate situation without contacting her. If we ask Kyubey, he could just give a misleading answer.

So broadly it ended up being the original social side of things, but I wanted to get another question to Kyuubey in. Went with "any other reasons he wanted us to contact her" since it's broad as hell. (Alternative was "any reasons for us to contract her" rather than why Kyuubey's doing it. Which feels stronger in some ways, but weaker in others. ) It feels like a good question with which to just shotgun at potential issues to me.
On which note, the science and social halves are about the same size in both votes, so if you like the latter but not the former, just stapling the science half to your original vote , with no alterations, winds up at 152 words. 157 words with the below old version of the ribbon test. The edit to the first vote should give it all the same points.

Ehhhhh I can't say I agree with any vote that involves kyubey in our experiments, even tangentially. Even asking is giving him intel, and quite possibly valuable intel at that.
On the one hand, I totally agree that any attempt to cooperate with Kyubey seems certain to end in betrayal. On the other hand, since we don't do our experiments in a privacy field, Kyubey is probably observing them anyway, so we're not telling him anything he wouldn't already know.
It's quite possible that Kyubey deduced from our asking Mami for a ribbon that we planned to experiment with extending our range, and the whole point of approaching us right now is to distract us from that. On the other hand, I'm not sure that we can afford to not take the bait. A magical girl's life could be on the line.

I'm pretty sure that we're not going to get to the science until next update anyway, at which point we can tackle some of those ideas. This vote is all about how to handle the curveball Kyubey just threw at us.
The science can easily be done after this conversation or this afternoon, but I don't think that a potential contact with a new meguca can just be put off until later in the week. Depending on her circumstances, that could be too late.
