With a 100m radius to work with, my first thought would be to make a Corellian Corvette. I didn't think of the Defiant, tho, which is even more awesome.

We probably don't have enough material to make any of those, however. Even the Millenium Falcon might be pushing it. Shuttlecraft is probably about what we can manage.

I think we can make the Falcon provided we have enough open space. It falls well within our control radius.

Or we could make a smaller-scale Constitution-class, just enough to fit within the limits of our control. Everyone recognizes the Enterprise.

Uhm. In the same way that we've proposed using Mami's connection magic to set up Sayaka with a tap to a clear seed. It should be possible, maybeprobably, to do something more... direct. And to replace the clear seed with a soul gem. And Sayaka with ourself. And specifically Mami on the other end.

If you get my drift, we could... potentially... link our soul gem directly to Mami's. It would have... interesting... implications... and would probably also gradually have effects on both sides over time, but, ah... Well... does anyone remember... what's that fic... Amelia, by Tananari? Well...

In Amelia, Amy and Taylor end up with a semi-telepathic sustained link that lets them do all sorts of weird shit. Sharing emotions, mainly, but not sharing-sharing so much as "your partner is feeling this and it's bleeding through."

What's being talked about, here, is nothing less than a direct link between the physical manifestations of two souls -- Mami's, Sabrina's. The potential effects of such a thing would be completely unpredictable, but we'd probably end up with some portion of a laundry list of items which includes:

- Constant empathic link
- Awareness of the other's location
- Shared grief reserve (would let us cleanse Mami at unlimited range!)
- Access to each others' magics
- Constant telepathic link
- Access to each others' senses
- Less or more than any of these things, who knows?

Am I advocating this? No I think it's insane and dangerous. But maybe in twenty years we could fine-tune some limited setup which would be advantageous and nice.
 
The other big thing in Amelia was the idea of the Power Interaction, pairs/groups of parahumans whose powers together were far more powerful than you'd expect. For an example from canon, Scrub and Labyrinth working together can create permanent portals to other dimensions. The core pair in Amelia was Taylor+Amelia, with the two communicating through a city-spanning custom organism that was close enough to being an insect for Taylor to connect to it and big enough that Amelia could always stay in contact.

We're actually seeing hints that this kind of thing is what we're supposed to be doing in this quest. Remember this?

I was actually channeling Amelia there, to some small extent. Not the "strange hive-mind" thing, but the part where working together is effective out of all proportion to sanity. Mami+Sabrina is the most bullshit of those combos by far, but there are other interactions in our party. Mami+Sayaka should give Sayaka ranged power-copying, for example.
 
I'm not adverse to a soul-soul direct telephone line, as long as it can be temporarily severed on command by either of us.


But there's no way I'm not throwing a hissy fit if the thread tries to go full Bugger Mami. Bugger Mami needs to stay the fuck away from my fluffies.

Right, I forgot that I had this thought! We'll clearly need to reserve all of the grief we collect during the upcoming trip. We'll want it for Asunaro tomorrow and then for taking Mami to dinner after that.

Nobody's going to start WW3 over a single something that could be a rocket launch...originating from Japan (as in, a country with no nuclear weapons or ballistic missiles).

And Kyubey will just mindwipe the relevant parties.
