Mami already knows about Feathers, and it's a longer term threat anyway. We will probably mention asking other girls for help against it.

Between us and Homura, it shouldn't be impossible to sell Walpy as serious bad news, so if we're lucky, Mami will consider asking Kyoko for help on her own like she did with Oriko. Otherwise, we can mention wanting to warn the surrounding girls and get Mami's permission to talk to Kyouko about it that way.

A valid point. Edited my vote accordingly.
I mean telling SAYAKA about Feathers.

Sabrina wakes up.

Uh, why am I lying on Mami's bed?

"Sabrina!"

A mess of golden unkempt hair, snot, tears and Mami barrels into Sabrina, making her grunt. Her arms automatically wrap around her friend.

"What..." Sabrina tries to speak up, but is drowned by Mami's sobs.

So she just waits. She holds her friend and waits.

A few minutes later, Mami calms down.

"Mami?" Asks Sabrina. "Are you OK?"

Mami doesn't say anything, but Sabrina can feel her nodding into her shoulder.

"Ah..." hesitates Sabrina, "what happened?"

"You were stuck," answers a soft voice.

Sabrina looks up at Homura, having just walked inside the room.

"Stuck?"

Homura frowns.

It's Mami who answers.

"Y-you were... were a-about to..." she sniffs, "say something b-but you..." her voice hitches, and she can't stop herself from crying some more.

"Shhh..." Sabrina rubs at Mami's back, trying to comfort her.

"You stopped," finishes Homura. Her eyes narrow in... anguish? "Then you tried to speak again. It was like... something was stopping you, and setting you back..." her voice fades.

"Oh..." realization dawns on Sabrina, "I got stuck on a loop? Damn, I thought I had better programming than that."

"W-what?" asks a confused Mami.

Homura's eyes bore into Sabrina's.

"... Wait," Sabrina smiles nervously, "did I say that out loud?"

Mami sniffs.

Homura nods slowly.

"A-are you..." starts Mami.

"I mean!" interrupts Sabrina, "did I really just keep doing that for... however long has passed?"

"T-two days..." whispers Mami.

Homura shakes her head. "You... shut down after a few... loops."

"So I've got some sort of failsafe..." mutters Sabrina, looking down at Mami's head, running her fingers through her scalp. "Weird, though, this didn't happen last few times my decision making completed liked this... the brain damage is real..."

Sabrina slowly looks up, "and I'm saying all this out loud also, ain't I?"

The room is filled only with stony silence.

"I think I broke my thought to speech filter," concludes Sabrina.

"Are..." hesitates Mami, immediately biting her lip.

"Yes, Mami?" prods Sabrina.

"... Are you a..." Mami grimaces, "... a robot?"

Sabrina smiles, a hand brushing a lock of Mami's hair behind her ear, "I wish it was that simple..."

Mami's eyes shine with held tears.

"I mean!" backpedals Sabrina, laughing nervously, "I mean, ah... ah-ha... Maybe?"

Mami looks down.

Homura shifts in place.

"Damn," Sabrina sighs, "I guess hooking up once you get better is not on the table anymore, is it? I was really hoping-" Sabrina slaps a hand over her own mouth.

Mami's went completely still, slightly gaping.

Homura looks away. The ceiling seems very interesting all of a sudden.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Mami's eyes rise to meet Sabrina's.

"It's... o-on the t-table?" she answers... uncertainly.

Sabrina gulps.

A minute passes, blue and golden eyes firmly stuck on each other.

Homura calmly and silently shuffles her way out of the bedroom.
We need more Omakes set in that timeline. Sabrina!Sabrina is awesome.

You are Homura.

Things were going pretty well.

You were having lunch with Madoka...
...and everyone else, of course, together up on the rooftop of Mitakihara Middle School.

As usual, Sabrina had something to say: "Does anyone think I should get glasses?"

You would tell her that it's unnecessary, that she could simply heal her eyes if they were damaged (which you doubted), but she'd probably just turn on you and suggest that some red-rimmed glasses would look nice. Or worse, suggest it to Madoka...

"I was thinking I could try some re—" She suddenly cuts off. You reluctantly turn to look.

"Does anyone think I should get glasses?" Sabrina suddenly continues, the tone and enthusiasm strangely resonant.

Mami looks worried. "Sabrina?"

"I was thinking I could try some re—Does anyone think I should get glasses? I was thinking—"

"SABRINA!?"

She doesn't pause. You transform. "—I could try some re—Does anyone think I should get glasses? I was thinking I could try some re—Does anyone think I—"

You rapidly cross the distance between you, but before you reach her, she simply... collapses.

"S-Sabrina...?" Mami's close to tears, and you can hear Madoka making a worried sound behind you. No time. Check her soul gem.

...it's fine? There's barely any grief at all, and it still seems normal to your senses, but Sabrina hasn't moved, though she's still breathing...

Mami. Where was Sabrina before lunch?

She clutches Sabrina tighter, shaking her, trying to wake her. I-I think s-she was going to visit Ori—

Time stops. Time restarts.

Oriko wasn't expecting you. Unless she was, but she's trying to hide it? She says Sabrina was perfectly fine when she left, and that her visions didn't foresee this happening, and that she doesn't know what's wrong. You'd say that she was swearing these things at gunpoint, and it'd be true, but her infuriating calm makes it hard to see it that way.

You could just end this. You want to. It might save Sabrina.
...it might save Madoka.
But you know what Sabrina would want.

The next two days are hard. You had to give Mami some of your grief seeds, because failed attempts at healing Sabrina were magically draining. Because Mami wouldn't stop trying to heal her, because Mami wouldn't survive without them. You chide yourself at the needless waste... then nearly crack your teeth grimacing at the thought you just had.

Then she wakes up.

...

"It's... o-on the t-table?" Mami answers, voice nearly a whisper.

Well. You should get going. Sabrina's turned everything sideways, as usual, but at least you know that she'll be handling this one herself. You slowly begin to slide out of the room, as Sabrina and Mami stare each other down in a rather uncertain-looking battle of wills. You're almost to the door, and you're almost smiling now. Madoka will be overjoyed to hear everything's ok.

"Bye Mom!" Sabrina's voice calls out.

You reappear a few blocks away.

You are Homura.

Things were going pretty well.

Jesus Christ.

I don't think of the consequences of what I write. What happens in the background.

"Bye Mom!" your voice calls out, unbidden.

Homura disappears. Mami's unending stare doesn't know how to react, but it's definitely still staring at you.

"This is... really inconvenient. I mean, it's kind of funny, but this is still a mess. I'm really going to have to avoid thinking anything about how magical girls turn into witches wh"

By authorial fiat I declare that everything in this alternate Omake-verse turns out okay anyway. In fact, in this universe Kyubey was about to witchbomb Mami the second Sabrina couldn't be there for her, so by accidentally blurting out the truth Sabrina actually saved the day. In a few years Sabrina, Mami, Homura, Madoka, Ugo, Mura, Oriko, Kirika, Sayaka, Kyouko, and even Hitomi and Kwijibo all get married in a giant joint wedding ceremony and everyone is happy forever the end.

[x] Be cheerful Sabrina.
[x] Receive Mami with hugs. It feels like months since you last hugged Mami.
Onmur whispering in my dreams said:
Omaaakes. You waaaant to wriiiiite omaaaaaaaakes.

Well, it seems like you got to the rooftop early today. There's probably a couple of minutes 'till lunchtime, and there's probably a couple more before everyone makes their way up. A momentary pause in your hectic life.

There's a lot to think about... but really, you just want to relax for a bit. You've been doing more than enough thinkingplanning, worrying, theorizing, they're all a constant chorus in your head.

Maybe you should take up meditation? You could try clearing your mind with your grief senses, let your awareness of the world around you take over. If manipulating your grief brings such intense concentration that your other senses become all but vestigial, then surely the opposite tack of simply feeling the ever-flow of your wings as they file themselves away, the low bubbling of grief-specks in the school below you know are your friends, the stolid resolve of condensed marbles in your bag...

It doesn't quite work. You've always been a little impatient, you suppose. In any case, you need wait no longer. Try as you might, you couldn't help but focus on one of those grief-specks in particular, and it's almost to the rooftop now, ahead of the rest.

Like always, you greet her with a hug.

"Hi Sabrina!" Mami says brightly. "How are you today?"

"Pretty good now," you reply, still holding onto her. "Feels like it's been months since our last hug. I missed this."

"R-really?" she stutters a bit in surprise.

You may have succeeded in clearing your mind after all. You definitely weren't thinking when you said that, at least.

"I- er, well, I was thinking about you, so it seemed longer?" you venture.

"I-I see." Mami still hasn't let go. The others have started making their way onto the rooftop, so you bring her with you to the nearest bench and sit down, all the while desperately trying to come up with something to say. You've always managed to settle on something to say, or to do, so why isn't this working—

"Sabrina," Mami begins, as she takes your hand. It seems she's sensed you're a bit flustered. "Sometimes, I- I mean, you shouldn't..."

She shakes her head, then smiles.

"Don't get too caught up worrying about me, okay? I'll... be here, when you need me. And you'll be there too. That's how it is, right?"

Your brain finally snaps back into action, a familiar cacophony rising. This one, though, you can handle yourself.

You smile back.

"Right."

* Deep in Sabrina's Grief-vault, a new file folder appears, titled: "Project: Ube Cake with Stawberry Buttercream" *
It says something about Sabrina's thought process's speed that 'making a picture (which can be done very quickly magically) and showing it to someone' is filed as a 'Project'.

Or maybe you mean making the scene actually happen, in which case, you're mad.

Hmm, do you think we need to reverse the positions? I mean, I know Homura started as the uke in the relationship, but I don't think she has it in her to be that much of a sub anymore.

Regardless, the project to bring Hope Mom and Love Mom together continues apace.
