Something on my todo list for the coming turn is waystones in Laurelorn or some similarly close to brettonia location, such that they can actually see them in action (since boney said they can't see the ones in sylvannia or Kislev for the purpose of bargaining power/demand generation).

I want to do elfcation same turn so that the visibility of said waystones has time to cook - this is about what I expected to do in the coming turn, during this closing turn's turn vote.

Then on the turn after, we can do Bretonnia adventures and get the best deal.

Is making new nexuses hard? We don't know that yet, and making new waystones turned out to be way simpler than I think anyone would have guessed prior to the project. It turned out that when everyone put their heads together, there were very simple solutions for things the old methods made very complicated, like how we completely eliminated Titan-Metal from the design, and found three different ways to replace it no less.
We don't know for sure how hard it will be, but we can be pretty damn sure it'll be quite dangerous.

From the same principle for why Cataclysm Magic is more dangerous that Petty Magic- massively increasing the amount of magic throughput massively increases the danger.

Boney straight-up said that if you screw up with a nexus, the consequences could obliterate a province because the amounts of magic that are being stored and handled there are much much higher. It's a different scale and Boney has previously cautioned us against thinking of figuring out nexuses as the next logical step of the Project.

And I think it says a lot that Ulthuan decided to use a literally irreplaceable Old One monolith to replace the Old World nexus that got destroyed during the Great War Against Chaos. I think that, even if they probably can make new nexuses without the need of those, then they probably can't make them very quickly.

Given that, I'd assume that yes, it's hard.
Also this quote, which I had to go find:

The amount of trouble that magical energies can cause if you fumble them does not scale linearly. That's why you might get hand cramps if you mess up a simple spell but can explode if you mess up Battle Magic. The amount of energies involved in a nexus would mess up an entire province in really exotic ways if things go wrong.

Per the accords, the elves no longer have any say in what non-elven nations do with the portions of the network within their borders. The Vortex is Ulthuan's property, but most human nations aren't allied or particularly friendly with Ulthuan, and as long as they aren't using it to sabotage Ulthuan, they have every right to establish a link with their well-established Dwarven allies who have just as many uses for the energy as Ulthuan does.
We're pretty sure it will be at least pretty hard, and more to the point extremely risky. That being said, the path forward on next isn't making new ones, it's recovering old but undeployed ones and deploying them. I think getting an old nexus and using it to either add redundancy to the network or just have on hand as a backup bit of hardware would be a difficult but realistic stretch goal.

Of course when messing up with that much magic the results are completely unpredictable. It could even give everyone a puppy and a pocket full of gold.

We do not get a chance to speak to mages of this scale in social votes often and for once we have much to potentially offer assuming we can trust him and I do not just meant that in a personal sense. In the abstract this guy could be the perfect person to trust with the Second Secret of Dhar since he has no reason to be tempted by the First. Still long road first step etc... talk to him and try to get his measure

[X] Pan's Treehouse

I was curious if she would do this and now that I know she did I want to see it

[X] Orb Reveal

ORB!!!

[X] Silk

SILK!!!
(For Sheets and potentially robes next turn)

[X] Karak Vlag books

And finally I am curious about the Fire Spire books and what the Runesmiths of Vlag may have thought of them

It's voting time!
Trying to give first vote to things we see for the first time!

[X] Wissenland
[X] Druchii Diplomats
[X] Skull River Ambush

But let's face it, at least three of new option are pretty much guaranteed, and two others have pretty good chances as well.

2) Develop other Waystone designs with other niches. E.g. a cheap mobile riverine Waystones that can be deployed on boats, for example. That's something our current design is incapable of. We don't need a land only design because it's not much different to our current one, but a riverine spirit one can be made much simpler.
Our current Waystone is too expensive to be used in land. So, we should rather go for a cheaper version that can actually be affordably replicated to fill any gaps inland.

[X] Orb Reveal
[X] Silk
So those two are pretty much mandatory...

[X] Pan's Treehouse
...and Panoramia has literally never lost a social vote even once...

So that leaves 2. One has to be...
[X] Karak Vlag books
Long lost magical lore is cool. Karak Vlag is very cool. The two of them put together are so cool that I'm getting frostbite.

But I am a Free Thinker, I'm not just going to vote for the 5 new options. This Seliph guy sounds cool, but he'll still be cool next turn. And speaking of delaying things for next turn...

[X] Middenland
[X] Skull River Ambush
...can we please finally follow up on at least one of those?

[X] Lord Seilph, the Mystic
[X] Pan's Treehouse
[X] Orb Reveal
[X] Silk
[X] Skull River Ambush
[X] Niedzwenka

There books will still be there next turn, but everything else is time-limited

I'm not sure we should be including (New) into the votes...

Just, uh, pushing back on any Dhar secret sharing talk. Sharing any such thing is not acceptable.
