Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

This Memorial Day, you want to do something good for veterans by helping them connect with service animals who can provide physical or emotional support, especially for those suffering from PTSD. Work with the O'Reilly Foundation to rescue animals from shelters and help them find a purpose and good home with veterans.
-[X]Modeling (Advertisements): Thankfully another Call Came in, one from an ad firm. They need you to have some pictures taken so that they are used for saner things. Like selling cars, or ice cream. DC: 40
-[X] Invite Mom and Dad over to California for some nice family time. Little Sarah and Joseph should get to know their namesakes and you can just have a nice small vacation.

Deal with Francis and Dune, get him to finally make his movie. Bruce experiencing voice acting for the first time and becoming Paptimus Scirocco. Really hopes he succeeds in that and he can have a very prolific VA career cause that would be awesome. Deal with Don and John and settle things before they do something stupid.

Release Basil of Baker Street, a nice kids movie for Mary to enjoy and also a treat for our beloved niece whom Bruce purchased the film rights for. Release Accident, which for those who don't know if a film of Sergiu Nicolescau's which is basically about a pair of criminals who steal a car and through a series of events, see escalation to them becoming wanted criminals for a plethora of crimes. Decent crime thriller and we keep our promise with Sergiu.

Carrie bonding time, NASA hopefully develops the Seadragon and some nice family time. Find out another fan. Also invite the parents over for some nice family fun in line with the other options.

For fun stuff, since we're free for the moment I want to take the opportunity to do two things that we have neglected up until this point, game shows and advertising. Game shows can be really fun for Bruce to do or him to do with Carrie and is a nice celebrity thing. I'm also really eager to see what Bruce will become the spokesman of.

Try to buy apartment complexes once more. For charity, rescue some dogs and help provide veterans in need with service animals. Wanted to do this for a long time but I've been holding off due to fear of failure with the doggos. But at least here with the bonuses from film rewards we should pass.

Good enough for me!

Perhaps next turn we can try and contact Wendy Pini. After thinking it over, I think it would make for a good idea to try and make her dream come true by making an Elfquest movie or TV Show.

Ballblazer

Ballblazer
Game Developer
: LucasArts Entertainment
Director: David Lavine
Genre: Sports, Science Fiction
Doing for the 80s what Pong did for the 70s, Ballblazer is LucasArts debut into sports games by taking the classic of soccer and giving it a twist through a fast paced Sci-Fi lense.

Ballblazer is a simple one-on-one sports-style game bearing similarities to basketball and soccer. Each side is represented by a craft called a "rotofoil", which can be controlled by either a human player or a computer-controlled "droid" with ten levels of difficulty. The game allows for human vs. human, human vs. droid, and droid vs. droid matches. The basic objective of the game is to score points by either firing or carrying a floating ball into the opponent's goal.

At the start of the match, a ball is placed into the center of the arena with players racing to take control. When players get a ball, they hold it and can launch the ball away from them. Players and droids have access to a blaster function on their rotofoils which can fire laser shots at their opponent to disorient them or make them drop the ball. To take a ball away from an enemy, knock into or fire their force field in front of the ball to deplete it so the ball can be grabbed by contact or knocked out by a blaster shot.

There are ten stages ranging in complexity. The base stage is a flat arena with a green checkers like floor while more advanced stages can range from a city to beach, the complexity in geography allowing players a chance to evade and engage in tight manuvers.

A/N: For those who don't know, Ballblazer is LucasArts first video game OTL. It hasn't aged well but it's got a pretty solid core concept and seems to have been pretty fun for an 80s game. Here with greater tech, basically think F-Zero but Basketball, or a proto Rocket League.

Reward: HEMA will see explosive growth in the next few years, with many European nations having entire sections dedicated to their nations martial past and how they learned to fight.

And how to fight like knights and soldiers of yor.

In Britian however, there is a hilarious thing happening. Most major organizations discovered obscure laws and ordinances about men needing to train to be longbowmen, and many people are beginning to form longbow clubs so as to not "break the Queen's laws" in addition to football clubs that seem to be springing up all over the place as many weapons and pieces that would be scrapped found a second life as places for these amateur blacksmiths and knights in armor, train.

There has also been a hilarious scene, where a member of Parliment, supporting these clubs who should get governmental funding for the good of The UK... was arrested for wearing a sword and suit of armor in the Parliment.
The extras for the Lord of the ring, and its talier/add movie: the Hobbit are slowly being made.

[X] Plan: Happy Saint Patty's Day!

want that native help, even if the money amount seem a litle low

261: by Carrie O'Brian and Farrah Alistair [ Biopic ] (Note: To Be Released alongside the 1984 Olympics)

Chronicling the remarkable journey of Katherine Switzer, a trailblazing athlete who shattered barriers and transformed the world of women's long-distance running. Set against the backdrop of the 1967 Boston Marathon, the film delves into Switzer's audacious decision to register for the race, becoming the first woman to officially participate. The defiance she displayed in the face of prejudice and discrimination resonated far beyond the finish line, sparking a global movement for gender equality in sports.

As the film progresses, it portrays the challenges Switzer faced both on and off the track. With gripping realism, it showcases the relentless determination with which she trained and prepared for subsequent marathons. Switzer's persistence and unwavering belief in herself inspired countless women to challenge societal norms and embrace their own athletic potential. The film captures the growing momentum of the women's running revolution, as Switzer's iconic image of being physically attacked during the Boston Marathon serves as a catalyst for change.

The biopic highlights Switzer's pivotal role in championing women's rights in sports. Drawing from real-life interviews and archival footage, viewers witness Switzer's tireless advocacy efforts to establish women's marathons and promote gender equality in racing. The film showcases her collaboration with fellow athletes and influential figures, leading to the inclusion of women's marathons in major competitions. Switzer's unwavering commitment and resilience lay the foundation for a legacy that continues to inspire women athletes worldwide.

The climax of the film culminates at the 1984 Olympics, where Switzer, now a respected figure in the running community, competes alongside a new generation of female athletes. The film captures the spirit of camaraderie and triumph as she demonstrates the transformative power of pursuing one's dreams against all odds.

A/N: Wanted to try something different, so I wrote this after watching one of Doug's videos, released yesterday:

The film's name derives itself from the numbers she wore during her run, and given that we're not that far off from 1984, felt it prudent to plan something for those Olympics.

Comic Pitch: Bubblegum Crisis
Let me tell you about an anime that while a bit out of my zone of comfort, nonetheless managed to charm me thanks to a high concept story, fun and quirky characters, and a tone that could perfectly bounce between serious, comic, and dramatic at the drop of a hat. One that had A.I. and exoskeleton warriors facing against all kinds of rogue A.I. elements that occasionally went rogue, where the police itself was inept in facing them, and thus mercenary/vigilantes known as the Knight Sabers rushed in to save the day, while also having to escape from the pursuit of said police members.

This pitch...is not about them. Well, not completely at least.

Truth be told, when I first saw Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 I was not even aware that it was a... spiritual sequel? Reboot?, well, whatever it was to an OVA series that had previously gained a following around the 80's/90's. But, I can see the potential in it. Using the original OVAs as a concept to begin a comic based on Cyberpunk themes that will get us a following, and expand Marvel's genre of comics like we promised in order to no longer depend so much on Superhero's. It will also allow the artist and writers to expand their own creativity in working on the series and the world where the Genom corporation tried to rule the world.

Plus, if it all goes well, we can make the Anime series later on. Hopefully with the same kind of tone that it had when made here.

Thus, I bring you:

Comic Pitch:
Bubblegum Crisis

GENRE: Action/Adventure/Cyberpunk

SUBGENRE: Comedy/Science Fiction

FORMAT: Comic

Set Up: Set in late 2032, seven years after the Second Great Kanto earthquake has split Tokyo geographically and culturally in two, forcing the United States of America to annex Japan in the legitimate name of keeping the peace and from it descending into anarchy. Disparities in wealth are more pronounced than in previous periods in post-war Japan with Genom, a megacorporation with immense power and global influence, introducing its main product; Boomers. Artificial cybernetic life forms that are usually in the form of humans, with most of their bodies being machine (also known as "cyberoids"). While Boomers are intended to serve mankind, they can also become deadly instruments in the hands of ruthless individuals. For this, the AD Police (Advanced Police) are tasked to deal with Boomer-related crimes, yet the infighting and red tape more often than not hinders them. Into this the Knight Sabers, an all-female group of mercenaries who don powered exoskeletons, take the fight to the Boomers, often clashing against the AD Police as well.

Writer: Steve Englehart
Artist: Herb Trimpe & Marc Silvestri

Sylia Stingray: She is the ringleader of the Knight Sabers. Very calm and cool-headed, she does not show much emotion. She is the daughter of Dr. Katsuhito Stingray, the man who originally created the boomers, and was murdered by Genom executive Brian J. Mason, with his death being covered up as an accident, until an unknown individual managed to send Sylia a data unit, providing her with Genom's future plans and the technological means of creating the Knight Sabers' hardsuits. She wears a blue and silver Hard Suit equipped with retractable sword blades in the forearms, laser cannons in the palms and wings for full flight capability. Professionally, Sylia is a wealthy businesswoman whose business ventures, aside from the mercenaries' fee, finance the team.

Priscilla S. Asagiri: She is the moody and defiant member of the Knight Sabers, fighting boomers with ferocious abandon in her slick dark blue Hard Suit, which features a railgun in the right hand as well as a laser gun, and her signature knuckle bombers (explosive charges in both hands of her hard suit). An orphan of the 2025 Kantō earthquake who joined a biker gang, after her boyfriend was killed and his death declared insignificant by the police (giving her a dislike for the law enforcement), she attempted to hunt down the killers, but she was recruited into the Sabers instead. Priss' rebellious streak is tempered by a good heart and sense of humor, which may explain her ability to function in Sylia Stingray's demanding and disciplined operation.

Linna Yamazaki: She is a member of the Knight Sabers, the only member that is fully Japanese. Linna dons a green Hard Suit equipped with "ribbon cutters" - long, electrically charged nanomolecular ropes mounted behind the helmet that can be used to slash through Boomers and other high-tech opponents. She works as an aerobics instructor, though she once hoped to pursue a career in professional dancing, but her efforts in the trials went unappreciated by all but Sylia, who recruited her into her team. Eventually, her constant greed for money makes her switch to stockbroker consulting later on. She is perhaps the most socially conventional of the Sabers, but is an excellent team player, with a heartfelt warmth and decency that grounds the team in a way.

Nene Romanova: She is a member of the Knight Sabers, acting as a technical conductor and hacker, and is an employee of the AD Police, functioning as the Knight Saber's mole in the ADP world. She is of Russian descent, bubbly, naive, with an affinity for candy and junk food, and is blissfully inept with real world logic. Due to her lack of (and unwillingness to engage in) regular exercise, she is often teased by Priss and Linna for not being more physically durable. Nene's blue and pink Hard Suit's offensive weapon is a weak laser gun unsuited for taking out enemies; instead, it is used to scribble the Knight Sabers' signature onto their scene of actions. She relies on her suit's computer and electronic warfare systems to stay away from an enemy.
Mackie Stingray: He is Sylia's younger brother and her only family. He serves as the Knight Sabers' backup and mechanic along with Sylia's friend, Dr. Raven. Mackie is a whiz kid with computers and technology, and has to constantly make repairs to Priss's bike because of her driving and the situations she gets into. He can pilot an armored suit himself and drives a large truck that delivers the Knight Sabers and their bikes to a situation. Mackie's is also extremely perverted, trying to catch his sister (as well as the other Knight Sabers) in the nude as much as he can.

Fargo: He is an informant, and though his background is unknown, his information includes data from the government, Genom, and the various criminal syndicates and underworlds, so he has a lot of connections. He has found the Knight Sabers a few Genom-related contracts, and Sylia trusts him to the point that he knows her true identity. He even has the audacity to ask Sylia into dangerous parts of Megatokyo after dark for meetings, and is constantly pursuing her as a sexual conquest. Sylia, however, does not have any interest in this and makes it very obvious.
Brian J. Mason/Largo: He is a high-level executive in the GENOM corporation who killed Dr. Stingray and stole his Boomer technology. As with Sylia, certain mysteries are created around Mason. It is generally accepted that Mason somehow transferred his personality into a boomer body some time prior to his death, resurfacing later on under the identity of Largo. He succeeded in transferring his memories into the ultimate Boomer, thus creating a God-like being able to vaporize three major GENOM branch towers in a single instant at will using a mental link with the USSD's particle-beam satellites. Despite being killed by the combined efforts of the Knight Sabers; Largo resurfaces to become the primary villain in the comic.

Quincy Rosenkroitz: He is the Chief Executive and founder of GENOM, Quincy is an enigmatic old man who hides many secrets under the face of an unfazeable and ruthless businessman. His company participates in the manufacture of many necessities around the world, but in fact Quincy wants to seize total economic and political domination of the world. He is never truly met personally, and though he is killed twice, in both occasions he is revealed as an android double. It is speculated that he may have downloaded his personality into GENOM's main database; several clues to this are offered during the comic series.

Boomers: They are synthetic life forms produced by the GENOM Corporation. They are developed specifically for specific jobs, such as acting as maids, waiters, bodyguards, store mannequins, and military weapons. Some (very advanced and expensive models) have gained sentience and developed minds of their own, but most are simply machines. Boomers designed for infiltration and combat are capable of appearing human, whether male or female, but tend to "burst" out of their synthetic skin in combat situations, revealing their true selves: large, metallic killing machines armed with built-in weapons such as lasers, machine guns, and arm blades capable of cleaving through a fire hydrant.

Sylvie: It is revealed that she is a Sexaroid (a Boomer designed to be a love-doll) model 33-S designed to feed on human blood as if she is a vampire and pilot "D.D.", a heavily armed mecha with a fail-safe mechanism that can be set to self-destruct with a nuclear reactor if the power runs out. She managed to escape the space station where she and her fellow Sexaroids were held, befriending Priss when they met. Ater the truth is revealed, Priss is left with no choice but to kill Sylvie to deactivate the D.D.'s self-destruct mechanism.

Anri: She is a Sexaroid who fled with Sylvie from the space station Genaros to Earth. During their escape, Anri was badly wounded, which forced Sylvie to kill people around Megatokyo for their blood to keep Anri alive. Later on she is hired by Largo as his assistant. During a confrontation between Largo and Priss, Anri stabs Priss when Largo tells her the truth about Sylvie's death; to which Priss explains her reason and asks Anri for forgiveness. Anri is then killed when she blocks an energy blast fired by Largo toward Priss, but Anri forgives her before she dies, while Largo mocks her sacrifice.
Leon McNichol: He is an A.D. Police officer from America, a dedicated cop with a tendency to rush in without thinking. He is a skilled powered armor pilot, one of the A.D. Police's aces in its K-11 and K-12S powered suits. Leon has a crush on Priss, which she does not like since she has a grudge against the A.D. Police. As the story progresses, he discovers that she is a Knight Saber but continues to help the team as best as he can. Priss and Leon's relationship grows closer during the series.

Daley Wong: He is Leon's partner, and a highly skilled investigator. He is Chinese-American, and portrayed to be loyal and highly competent, both as Leon's underling and as a commander in his own right, being able to command his own AD Police squad. Daley's sense of humor is very dry and understated, though t time he is shown to be heavily sarcastic, not only to his enemies but towards Leon as well, who can take it and respond in kind. Both sides are good friends who can work well together.

Chief Todo: He is the African American Chief of the AD Police (his name could be a mispronunciation of Todd). He is a bad-tempered man who has to put up both with official restrictions and rebellious underlings, Leon in particular. He was originally from Chicago, Illinois but immigrated to Japan after the Second Great Kanto earthquake all but decimated Tokyo's infrastructure. Despite his grouchy personality, Todo cares for his men; he has gone so far as granting Leon the freedom he needs without his 'official' knowledge or approval on several occasions.

Inspector Gina Maiso: She is the former partner of Leon McNichol. Originally a Normal Police officer, she transferred to the A.D. Police for its more action-oriented nature. A slightly rough and tumble woman, Gina possesses a deep hatred of the Boomers she and the rest of A.D. Police battle. After losing her arm to a Boomer she fought, she had the Boomer's arm grafted to her as a replacement.

Naoko: She is Nene's colleague (as an ADP Operator) and best friend outside the Knight Sabers; the two share a common interest in popular music and looking for a boyfriend.
J.B. Gibson: A young man who drives a heavily modified Griffon supercar. Gibson and his girlfriend Naomi were assaulted on the road by a biker gang, which resulted in Naomi's mind locked in a catatonic state. In retaliation, Gibson modified his Griffon with only one goal: to destroy the biker gang responsible. However, his crusade backfires when the car develops a mind of its own after having been equipped with a device that interfaces with his brainwaves.

Reika Chang: She is a Chinese-American singer who performs under the name Vision. She travels to Megatokyo to start her world tour, but her music career is merely a facade. She is the elder sister of Irene Chang, who was murdered by the GENOM Corporation. Moreover, she is an heiress to the "Hou Bang", a powerful Chinese triad organization bent on destroying GENOM and the American firm Gulf & Bradley - both of whom are collaborating on a Super Boomer project.

Lisa Vanette: She is the niece of AD Police Chief Todo and an aspiring photojournalist who sets her sights on exposing the Knight Sabers when she photographs a fight between them and a renegade Boomer and Priss smashes her camera to prevent her from capturing their activities on film. Like her uncle, Lisa is African American. Nene is assigned to accompany Lisa around the city. One night, after a fight between the Knight Sabers and a Boomer, Lisa discovers in one of her photos that Nene is one of them after her helmet is damaged in battle.

Irene Chang: She is a young woman who goes to the same fitness club where Linna teaches an aerobics class. She's the younger sister of Reika Chang, and was engaged to an employee of the GENOM Corporation, but her fiancé went missing, which led her in a quest to expose GENOM's secrets.

A.N.: Alright, I see this as a good stepping stone from which we can generate fans and buzz among the Cyberpunk enthusiasts (and hopefully others) in order to make sure to put the TV Series later on. I mean, the series was one of my favorites so I think that by stacking the deck a bit more we can make sure that it's not forgotten as it seems to be now. With some luck, we might be able to translate the comic and see if we can find anyone interest in publishing it in Japan
