Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Hey man i look back at some posts and i have to ask. Why would(if he doesn't already)Ali hate us personally?

The first SP roll is from Carrie:
D100 + 30 => 94

Yeah this is going to be good if Carrie decided to start it off strong.

And hey maybe everyone else will be able to match her greatness.

Well, the restaurant wasn't the main selling point of the film and just using a restaurant was always going to cause issues.

Makeup:
D100 => 82

The Makeup Team was fantasic though.

Really they did great work.

SFX/Soundtrack:
D100 + 150 => 157

You are starting to think that Carrie was more focused on the film then the music. It was good, hell it could even be called great...

But then again, after Some Nights, you were honestly expecting more from her.

Production Problems:
D100 => 4

Under budget, and ahead of schedule. That was great.

Do you do Reshoots?:
[]Yes
[]No

AN: I did a forget on a roll.

HOT DAMN! A pretty great debut film for the O'Brians as their first step to becoming America's greatest filmmakers. Everyone gave their best designs with Debbie and Carrie absolutely slaying as a mother-daughter team with a nat 100 and nat 94. Joseph not quitting was fortunately for the best with him giving a stellar performance and showing Hollywood that they missed out on a hell of a great actor. Robin and Michael got great film debuts, Mark is great, and production while it could be better is all around solid and thankfully this film is going to be focused on the actors than cinematography. Overall great stuff.

I think a reshoot at this point is just a waste of time and money and completely unnecessary when we got the best start. Everyone gave a great performance with the only meh stuff being Joseph/Robin and Mark/Michael chemistry but I doubt either interaction is critical to the story and we can probably handwave it away as one best friend playing better with the other male Tate. Props is meh but not important cause it's a slice of life romance whose focus is characters. While Carrie could have had a better score, this isn't a musical and a 157 is still pretty damn great. We got what we need, let's wrap it up and continue further to the Olympics.

Alright then, for next turn I have a couple of ideas; First, we need to get the film right for both Lord of the RIngs and the Hobbit so that we can actually make a good film of those properties.

Second, we should meet Frank Herbert sooner rather than later so that we can avoid the feud and anger when he thinks that Star Wars is ripping off of Dune.

I don't want Papa O'Brien's return to Holywood to be spoiled by him corpsing at Robin.

Live-action, or animation?

Because on one hand, I don't think we'll be able to pull off the more fantastical and mythological elements with the current technology, and on the other I don't think it'll resonate with the majority of audiences to this point [Disney is most of the reason for the idea behind 'animation is for kids'].

Either way, I'm game.

"Frank, can I be frank with you? If I've read your work correctly, your series pulls more inspiration from Middle Eastern traditions and philosophies, most notably Islam, and whose major focus is its feudal setting, while mine pulls more from Far Eastern traditions and philosophies, most notably Buddhism, and whose major focus is its more Wild Western setting. About the only things that our series share is the fact it takes place in space, we are introduced to a desert planet, and that their settings are something I like to call a Space Opera."
