Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[]Ask to direct an Episode: You have no experience, practically or otherwise, to direct an episode. But what you have is the ability of an actor's perspective. That will be something that will be amazing to show off. DC: 50
We got an Emmy for direction, come on! We have some experience! Is there any chance we can get a lower DC?

[]Distributing Deals: Since you have a Distribution Company, or rather, are one… You can meet the major movie theater companies and strike a Deal with them. Even when you had really nothing to offer them. DC: ???
Come on, we've got at least a few Japanese movies, that's gotta interest some of them right?

Might want to try and convince George that Christmas of 76 might be a good time... if you're willing to overwork the Boys and girls at ILM? :V
Maybe we overwork stalone's crew and get Rocky Balboa released that year?

environment?
I expect the Japanese movies we are releasing will have more people watching yhem as well. Something like a +20 audience reception to all movies during this time period just to represent how little competition the movies that come out right now will have.

Oh you're wondering how that will affect distribution.

Wait, shit I forgot to factor that in... I was too busy laughing at other Hollywood studio's incompetence.:V

Um...

Lets see... whats a good way to fuck over these people...

Ah, I know:

+30 to Audience and Critic rolls.

Increase profits by a factor of 2.

Meaning the profit roll will be multiplied.

Bruh, that moment when Hollywood wants to make money and one Filipino Sphere Boi said NO.

@Magoose So in regards to the strike deals, will movies that have finished post-production and haven't been released yet still be able to go to the movies during the strike or does some contract stuff prevent finished films from seeing the theaters? Has Godfather Part II come out yet? And if we don't chose the contract action, does that mean our contract stays the same? Cause I can live with the same terms.

1. Yes, there will still be movies being released, just not at the huge potential that other studios wanted to have.

2. Godfather Part 2 has been released.

3. The contract will remain the same, but things might happen.

As Lucille really wants to try and... uh... Keep you on for as long as possible, and not lose you to Film. or other productions.

"Breaking News from the LA Area, Hollywood Screen Actors, Screenwriter and Producers Guild representatives have all but said that the Strike, planned at the beginning of November of 1974, has stopped all production of over 300 films and TV shows. The Guild has released a statement that 'The Current Studio heads had violated several contracts for numerous films that were released earlier this year, as well as trying to influence awards for Television, and films.'"

Well well look who is up shit creek, hope we can continue to put tge squeeze on them on the other hand the unions might get too much power

I say we take advantage of this and start distributing our films to take proper advantage.

Aside from that, let's buy the rights for Conan and prepare to take the role... of SOLOMON KANE!!! (Yes, I will die on this hill if I have to!)

We should also buy the Iron Lung script and perhaps, if we have time, arrange a meeting with Frank Herbert. Unless you guys prefer we schedule it for after Star Wars.

-[X]A Strange Deal: Alan Ladd Jr, has a deal he wants to make.
-[X]And The Great Friendship Between Debbie Reynolds and Clint Eastwood: You never expected Clint and Debbie to actually spend time together as friends. Isn't that surprising? DC: 30
-[X]Investments: You want to invest your hard-earned cash into something that you feel will be a good return on investment. And as well as diversify your assets DC: 0 (Linetail what you wish to invest in below this action, and the amount of money you want to invest in)
--[X] $100,000. Purchase Conan Film Rights.

Okay, so now we must adapt to a post Bryanfran world and take full advantage of the chaos inflicted upon Hollywood.

For MASH, we do contract negotiations in order to get a good deal and lay down our newfound worth. Hang out with Loretta for fluff, and try to be on good terms with the new people before we don't see each other again for possibly a long time.

We distribute Godzilla vs Gigan and take advantage of the current landscape to push it to major success. Come up with a New Year's resolution plan with Carrie. These four are what I consider to be reasonable and attainable goals for Bruce. I can take out or add any offers. And for children I wanted to make it clear that Bruce is in full agreement with Carrie from last turn, just that he wants to be a father by the 80's which I think is reasonable since it still fits with what Carrie wants.

Deal with Alan. Hang out with Debbie and Clint since they are likely unemployed for the moment and it's been months since we last tried to hang out with them. Also purchase Conan film rights while the other studios are on fire.

@Magoose Whatever happened to the contract negotiations since you said that we would find out this turn? Or are you planning on revealing that and the ILM work in the turn results?
In the turn results.

Because thats where its most appropriate.

But, since I'm a good QM:

Mark Hamil:
D100 => 66

He's in, though he's making the canon amount of money that he was paid. So... there is that.

[X] Plan: Futureproof During Hollywood's Oof
Forgive me @Orion Ultor
Alright, now that I ain't at work and forced to type on phone, here's the basic idea:

1) Ingratiate ourselves with our fellow castmembers, many of whom are going to be out of work for the next year, and ensure fair pay for all involved.
[The Contract for This Season, The New People in Camp, The Best of Times, and the Swift of Times]

2) Ensure affordable housing and jobs are on offer for those that will be losing jobs this year, and are likely to face homelessness if their needs aren't met.
[Investing in the Future: Mando's Gym Pt.1, A Charitable Heart: Civil Engineer Contract]

3) Ensure LucasFilms gets ahead of the problem and actually distributes any and all films are available, ensuring the worst affected at least get a fair shake.
[Look for Investors, Distributing Deals, A Strange Deal]

All in all, the plan isn't about capitalizing on people's misfortunes [but fuck corrupt Corpos] and winning in the short term, it's about ensuring that we ensure the disenfranchised have somebody on their side with both the capital and the gumption to actually do something about their situation winning hearts and minds for the long term.
