If we want not to live like an animal, we should probably take the bath
...you don't need a full decadent bathroom with king-sized tub to not live like an animal. I don't live in an apartment with a bathtub. Sleeping in the same room with all your unpacked stuff is a different matter.
[X] DUCK: Adela's interested in mechanics, see if anyone you can introduce her to would be willing to teach her.

Because we have a harder time finding noncombat uses of wizards than anything else
This is a good point and I will approval-vote it.

Let´s get the mundane pleasures and comodities out of the way first.

Plan: Stop living like an animal.

[X] DUCK: Work with Panoramia for her to finally get around to investigating the greenskin mushrooms she found.

[X] ENTRANCE: Pleasant foyer

[X] Bedroom
Silk sheets will have to wait until Princess Edda finds some weavers. Also includes a nice comfortable dog bed for Wolf, a bookshelf for your recreational reading, and a wardrobe of grey robes.

[X] Library
Separated into three sections: Normal, Magical, and Classified. This allows guests to peruse portions of your library in accordance with their status. Includes a comfortable reading area and a few more private nooks; will be the home of your incredible dragon-skull chair.

[X] Bath Room
Between Dwarven plumbing and a combination of runes and enchantment, you could create a private bathroom that would make Emperors envious.

[X] Sitting Room
A room dedicated to socializing, from morning tea to formal meetings.

get all the basics first, or we will forget them in the next round of digging down.

For the tunnels you need shadows to burn with shadows. Too dark.

I think cannons are perfectly fine there, the maximum bandwidth of a tunnel is much lower
I though you can build a few dwarven runes into the tunnel ceilings that can light up like light bulbs when it senses Skaven to create the shadows for it to work.
That way you don't have dwarfs constantly guarding and shooting all the time.

I've done the same. Teaching them how to Sword Gud and survive is well and good as our most basic responsibility, but they do have other desires and it occurs to me that as a teacher who's basically adopted them we must ensure their desires and aptitudes are encouraged and nurtured.

Gonna sit out the Duckling vote, on account of me being fine with any of them winning.

[X] ENTRANCE: Pleasant foyer
[X] ENTRANCE: Trophy room

I dearly wish we could combine these two. Imagine Aluminum's skull as a footrest, or a cupholder!

[X] ENTRANCE: Escherian Nightmare

Approval vote because it's so Grey Wizardy.

Somewhere to sleep, somewhere to read, somewhere to keep stuff, and somewhere to relax after a long day's work putting the fear of shadows into the enemies of Dwarf- and humankind.

Hahaha. All these afther chapter comments are just hilarious. Took me waaay too long to laugh and read through peeps reactions.

And can I just say? This bit about 'move it move it'
So," he says, seemingly confused. "The problem is that the sun is in the wrong place some of the time, right?"

You blink at him. "Yes?"

"Why don't you just move it, then?"

What. "What?"

"Well, not move it, move it. But just, you know. Swap two parts of the sky for a bit."

What. "What?"

"So the sun can shine the shadow wherever you want it to."

just branded this song back to my head.

It's already been noted that the entrance can be upgraded to be killy, so checkpoint's not really as necessary.
Yeah; we have to spend our own Favour on it, but honestly? I love the notion of an elegant, tastefully decorated beautiful foyer. There's a mural on the wall, there's a balcony with a beautiful view, there's a steel pillar radiating the nega-fire of Hell itself that has a small silver railing and a demure sign saying DO NOT TOUCH.

A checkpoint bristling with security is so... Hysh. We're of the Grey College. It's the stuff that you don't see that you should be scared of. Yeah, I'll shell out Dwarf Favour for that.

Design of your Entrance Hall:
[ ] ENTRANCE: Pleasant foyer
[ ] ENTRANCE: Trophy room
[ ] ENTRANCE: Escherian Nightmare

Hmmm, tempting... On the one hand, nice and pleasant. On the other hand, trophy room!

On the third non-Euclidean hand, "You start with parallel lines that intersect, and then go from there."

[X] Bedroom

Mandatory. Gotta fulfill that "not living like an animal" thing.

[X] Library
Separated into three sections: Normal, Magical, and Classified. This allows guests to peruse portions of your library in accordance with their status. Includes a comfortable reading area and a few more private nooks; will be the home of your incredible dragon-skull chair.

Sold!

[X] Vault
To keep safe your wealth, your secrets, and your miscellaneous esoterica.

This is just quite nice to have.

[X] Shrine to Ranald
The room where you mugged Mork with Him is all well and good, but something convenient and private might be nice.

Ranald IS real
!

Well I mean... Yeah. Yeah, let's do it. We can have multiple shrines after all. Public and private.
