We don't need to use witch materials (which are slow and ping enemy gucas) to do this.

As far as we know, we can accelerate "normal" grief arbitrarily quickly. Just wrap whatever we want to launch in a grief sabot and fling it.

Oh, and excellent update, Firn. I once said that Homura wouldn't be coming out of this conversation the same. And she hasn't. She's taking the final steps on her path to victory.

"What I did" reads to me as referring to a singular event. I think she's talking about the time she killed Madoka.

umm random question. I need a notebook to track this stuff but IIRC there's an older magical girl whose death, IIRC, caused assorted girls to do poorly thought actions. Do we have any idea if in the timeline if she is alive still and if she would be useful as an advisor for all of... this.

I thought she was refering tothe fact she killed Madoka (to prevent her from becoming a witch). But yeah, all of that just sums up to it.

Tsubaki, from Suzune Magica?

She's on our recruit list. We really should get around to contacting her, since she's a bleeding heart who will most likely help us, we can nip all of Suzune Magica's problems in the bud, and having an adultguca who actually has a job on our side would help a lot.

Understand -and decide our reactions to - the sum of the remainder of Homura's ambiguous responses. As expected, one doesn't get a walkover in these situations.

Set up a way to give ongoing support that is interactive. Affirmation must be available to her short term. As long as we avoid infohazards, involve Mami a bit more with Homura? Kyuubey isn't between them now.

Pay attention to Homura's agency. Oriko conversation was ineffective to affirm her agency, because there WAS one right answer. Go beyond "we give her choices" level. It would do her more good if she can invent and pursue a project with others, where she is the authority.
-- Sub goal - ask her if she is gathering and planning for Walpurgisnacht? Can she lead the strategy meeting?
-- Sub goal ask her how old Madoka will be when her ability to contract expires? Get Homura to imagine herself making a realistic future she wants.

How might we involve Madoka in support? That is part of the 'deal' with her. Also, we need to present magic in a continuing harsh light. It helps to run Kyuubey off the rails.

That is her second major trauma. Under that is her strategy of the recent loops to abandon empathy. Homura tried to abandon her humanity to obtain her goal, but that isn't sitting well with her. Is this more what you mean, @Conjured Blade ?

Magical Girls have rough edges, if Kyuubey has anything to say about it. Gun violence isn't what makes Homura special. Her overwhelming ability to attach, more like it.

We have a few goals too, but absolutely, ask her. Be good family to her, it's the missing element in her life.

While close, my line of thought is more like:

1. Homura sees herself as a defective single-purpose machine, worthless, subhuman, trash for her inability to fulfill her intended function of protecting Madoka.
2. Homura will be happier when she reaches a point she can stop seeing herself like that, and deserves to be able to reach that point.

My posted concept was scrap steel mass, with an anti-magic enchanted warhead. I want us to visit the sea shore for BALLISTIC SCIENCE practice, because I think Sabrina may have a range only limited by projectile aerodynamics / friction durability. Cue the Fripside BGM.

While not inaccurate, I resist the exact word "machine," due to Homura not using that herself? Her clockwork graphic theme is one thing, but I would like to be more certain what her inner dialog sounds like, in order to match it. Firn is keeping his cards covered so far.

• Check on Masami/Hiroko/Ono and their Kuroki hunt
• Check on Asunaro, try to contact Hijiri again
• Check with Nakano Mika how her talk with Kyouko went

I think that's all the really urgent stuff?
