Orcs are infighting more? Why, that sounds like practically a benefit! :V Thus I propose this plan to Acquire Currency, both in the form of Ranald's Coin, and in the form of extremely valuable papers that become college favor currency. I could be persuaded to swap in Memories of Companionship for Wolf if the negathread prefers easier social maneuvering to best dog. (Or maybe lose more spells.) But the general idea is this: Mathilde arrives back in the Grey College in Altdorf as an apprentice, sets off to Algard's office, requests a demon-check, and proceeds to demonstrate who and what she is from her knowledge of future papers, her knowledge of classified and near-future events in the Grey College, and her ability to cast spells well above apprentice level. All very classified of course.

(Re)Write Queekish earlier, let the Empire discover the Skaven Civil War earlier, derail the timeline real hard. With future Mathilde's Magic and Learning and Ranald's Blessing, blaze through recovering the lost spell list. The Skaven lose. The Orcs lose. Go help out at Sylvania later so the Undead lose - even with the timeline derailed, Verena's Guidance means we'll know a lot of the stuff we committed to paper as Spymaster, which means people who are already in place, locations to check, etc.

Personally I'd like having Branulhune since it's kind of integral to our fighting style, but if we're going back to Apprenticeship we can just lean harder on Mathidle being a caster and enchanter. Hopefully we keep Shadow Knives and the Shiv mastery.

Mathilde can fight quite well without Branulhune; it's a skill I'm willing to lose, not least so Kragg the Grim doesn't decide to murder us for being in possession of work that has his Master Rune and that he knows damn well he didn't make.

If "Default Drunkard" is the Everchosen, does that mean "Recurring Villain" is a Black Magister, or just a wealthy noble trying to become a Chaos Sorcerer?
Neither. Recurring Villain is an Altdorf stage actor who specialized in playing recurring villains and got WAY too into it after drinking some warpstone liqueur on a dare. Hence the nom de villainy.

Everyone watch in shock and horror as he alone triggers and carries the end times. That what happens when one mocks another dreams to often.

Tzeentch's plan to set Gork against Mork failed because of you. This time around it won't fail, Tzeentch will warn itself that the ritual must be rearranged - and provide a burst of energy allowing it to do so sooner, and more securely. You will not be able to stop it a second time. Unavailable with Late Arrival.
Is this even a minus? I mean, I know it's a chaos plot, but isn't anything that weakens the greenskins good for the forces of Order?

It's a plot by Tzeentch, so it's definitely a minus - and has a hell of an endgame in my mind. Might only be +1 shiny worth, but I went with a higher bonus because it's something that allows for big waves to happen, and 'cause I didn't want people to be too risk averse to pick up any flaws.

Would people actually like me to make a recursive fanfiction quest?
Because if so I'd be willing to try, 'though I'll freely admit it would be slower updating and lower quality than Divided Loyalties.

not a smart idea.

one, even a small princedom will be murder to run and maintain without a reliable source of income-tax.

two, Taxes arent liked, but they perform vital social functions, even in medieval times.

even outside of paying for the running of the territory. they are proof of citisationship and rights, an early form of population cense, early crime deterrent (extra taxes) and economic/black market control (only tax-paying peddlers can work inside the towns etc etc.)

and finally, game it out: I'm a border princer, and I want a farm in the lands that dont get taxed, but so does everyone else.

It would not just cause unproductive over migration and over population, but infighting over limited land among the farmers.
I mean avoid taxing more. And the idea that it would lead to unproductive overpopulation to Sylvania is silly. People who move to a place like that over taxes are people who currently feel like taxes take too much from them, are people who do stuff.
The reason Vampires can tax less is that they care less about getting rich in a normal lifetime and, more importantly, that their standing army is much much cheaper to mantain.
But we could make use of a smaller standing army with a large amount of battle mages.
As for alternative income I was thinking of pushing the EIC into Sylvania so hard that we control the market and can sneakily push the price of certain goods up that don't hit all the peasants equally as hard. If big enough, we can use all of our EIC profits (which cover much more than just our personal piece of Sylvania) to reinvest here. And since we are a Markgraf the taxes we ourselves owe to Roswita should be minimal.

I don't trust Algard's trust in us at that point in time. Or rather, I think he is too competent to not keep is locked in the Grey College and milk us fkr knowledge until we can be safely discarded. Even if we apparently aren't marked by Tzeentch in any way and may well have our free will intact, the whole thing just screams Tzeentch plot. So I'd rather get the shiny for waking up in Wurtbad and keep the awesome spells we learned and invented.

Otherwise your plan is fine as is.

And a Grey Wizard now wields it. He doesn't actually know the Grey Wizard spell list but he knows enough to know that "forget stuff" should fall into the domain of Ulgu.

Definetly not a bad idea at all. I in your place wouldn´t do it, as that would be directly measuring your skill against Boneys, but if you go for it I´d be willing to give it a try.

I mean, the idea that a Grey Wizard could Mindhole Kragg the Grim into forgetting his own craftsmanship seems pretty outlandish... but... well, the evidence is right there.

On the other hand, that still implies said Grey Wizard somehow convinced him to make it in the first place. Which is the real kicker, because there's absolutely no way we could do that by force, especially without shoving enough magic into him that he would be little more than a grumpy statue. So we must have earned it somehow... but still had to erase his memory for some reason.

Actually, thought, but is this omake before or after the Dum expedition? Because we could totally try replicating Vlag, if it's after. Really good way to get into the dwarf good books again.

Can someone remind what happened with kragg grim making something for us, then us making him forgot that?
They're talking about the omake @kingreaper posted yesterday:
forums.sufficientvelocity.com

Warhammer Fantasy: Divided Loyalties - an Advisor's Quest Fantasy - Users' Choice!

As a Journeywoman, Grey Wizard Mathilde Weber is dropped into the deep end of intrigue and double-dealing after a surprise assignment to the necromancer-afflicted province of Stirland. Follow her trials, travails, feats and discoveries as she makes her way in the world and does her best to...

@BoneyM How would you feel about me attempting to turn the Broken Mirror omake into a recursive fanfiction quest? Following the journeys of a Mathilde Peggy Sued from right about now.

All personality disparities would be blamed on damage from the Wisdom Asp, and all continuity errors blamed on Tzeentch messing with the past. :p

You're sleeping on the worst consequence of Enemies Forewarned: the Lahmian plot. Remember, Regimand handled most of the list, but we killed one of them! Unless you take Late Arrival, the risk that the noblewoman we murdered will ripple out to the rest of the plotters is super, super bad.
Would people actually like me to make a recursive fanfiction quest?

I will participate if you do this thing, but in your position I would not do it; turning a goofy gimmick into its own being is really hard.

"Kragg recognizing his own work but not remembering making it" was actually an idea I had for a hypothetical crossover between DL and DoDA, with Freddy having the Steelfist Kragg made when he gets dropped into DL.

Mostly because I can't see any other way he could convince someone he's not just crazy when he says he's from an alternate timeline in the past.

Heck, at that point, I'd say let's roll in the omake scenario somebody did where Snorri from Rhunrikki Strollar got dropped in DL. WHFQuest Avengers, assemble! :V
