It would be an enormously dick move if Boney had put the dragon on the list of romance options (a list that included most but not all characters), set the cutoff so that it moved on to the next round, put it on the list for social options, but then punished the voters for taking it. Like, that is "drop the quest and never touch anything they write again" levels of dickery. The worst-case scenario I can imagine is just "Sparklebutt is not interested in any sort of peer relationship and we have wasted a social action," and I am happy to offer good odds to people on the matter.
