Gabriella was on the list as a vampire and not marked as blackmailed. She most likely had at least some influence. I am also not worried about what information she gave, but rather which she got and what strings she could pull.
Hmm. Yeah, maybe the original vampire 'Heidi' was impersonating was a member of the conspiracy? Then Heidi/Gabriella kept up that pretence as part of the 'Countess of Nachthafen' identity.
Recall, she told us she assumed the identify of a Lamian who tried to recruit her.

Though... that'd require that messages to her weren't encrypted in the same eyelid way... the mechanics of it would be a bit odd. The actual-vampire Gabriella was a more prominent, willing member than two blackmailed wizards?
Still, aside from this topic, I'm happy to spend time with Reggie.

On the gyrocarrier idea, waste of time for Mathilde to learn herself. She can pay for someone else to get trained, have that dude fly her places. It's about time we got a servant.

Alternatively ... most of the things we'd use a Gyrocopter for the Dawi would be in favor of, and it's not like they'd stop us from making one of their Gyrocopter's better.

Just continue borrowing one of Belegar's Gyrocopters nad Pilots whenever we need to.

Even the idea that inspired this, robing Marienburg ... in this context they'd be sort of at war with the Dawi, the Dawi would probably be in favor of us robbing their enemy.

What's the thread's interest in learning Ritual Magic?

I'm interested because I know Rituals are more powerful then non-ritual magic ..... but it's also very risky, and none of the rituals I've found in any of the books seem worthwhile.

We'd either need to find an OC ritual or create one from scratch for this to useful.

The Greys don't have the institutional knowledge of enchantment that the Bright and Gold Orders have, so we're starting to become the upper echelon of enchanters, which in turn means that if we want to progress we're going to have to start getting creative and experiment.

I wonder .... do you think the Gold Order would let us sit in on their Enchantment lessons?

They approach magic in a different way, sure, and we can't do the Chamon stuff, but the enchantment stuff should be similar enough, right?

Just. As. Planned.
A through occurs. Anyone remember that time Mat wrote a book about an Exile from Ulthuan and made a lot of money off it? How the Phoenix Court banned that book? Also, remember the Liber Mortis and being a Loremaster of a resurgent Karak Eight Peaks? And the EIC?

Now advising the Empire to go to war with Marienburgh? It seems to me that some Tzinchian sorcerer could not have asked for a finer brew to sell to the Phoenix King's Court.

Just. As. Planned.

The dreams of the Phoneix King were ever troubled, but that night a particularly annoying bird had somehow managed to breach the wards and bother him with its endless squawking.

"Oh look, that Evil Wizard that wrote that damaging book about the Dragonlord you hate is now spilling her poison into the ears of the second most influential dwarf king on the continent, agitating for the start of a dwarven civil war with her teachings. Even if civil war does not result, the dwarves are filled with such glorious change! Tearing the Empire apart from Ulthuan by telling them misinformation about the waystones network and how you are stealing all that magic from the Empire while encouraging them to reach ever deeper into magic and sorcery. Why, she will soon start experimenting with multiple winds and our lord has seen fit to bless her with the vision to do so. All while getting to dwarves to build cannals that will make the Empire dependent on dwarven trade and free them from your influence. All while filling her EIC coffers with great wealth to fund her further schemes. Plot within scheme within plan, such wonderful work, hitting numerous goals with one working, such complexity!"

"Getting Barak Varr to go war on your only landhold in the Old World, and generally positioning herself to be unassailable amidst a massive network of favor and influence, fit to let her become the second coming of Neferata, or better yet, Nagash! Or don't you know oh great King, Mathilde Weber, the Loremaster of Karak Eight Peaks has and has read the Liber Mortis. Haahahhahahahahha!"

"Are you sure you want to allow her plots to drive Ulthani influence from the Old World and get you cut off from the siphons all over the old world as another undead terror eats the entirety of the Empire and undermines the dwarves from within? Are you not the chief champion of Order in the World? Act glorious King! I'm sure the dwarves will believe you when you accuse their most favored human of being part of the Great Plan! Especially when you do it!" Mad laughter rang all through the dream.

"How foolish, the dwarvers, to allow such a schemer so close to fill their heads with her lies? And all it took was arranging for the fall and apparent reclamation of Karag Eight Peaks. Eight Peaks and the Citadel in the middle, for Nine, the holy number of Tzeentch! All is going just as planned and only you can save them, noble king of Ulthuan! Or this is all a lie and I'm pandering to your arrogance? But can you tell which is which, Noble King?"

All that followed was mad laughter as the bird was finally expelled. The morn found the Phoenix King reexamining the reports from the White Tower of Hoeth. Karak Eight Peaks had reconnected, that much was proven truth. The rest would need to be investigated. Closely. Humans who rose so fast and so high were rare. Far too often, whatever their contribution in their rise, the fall erased it all and did far worse. If this Loremaster was compromised, a quiet end would be for the best. If the quiet swords of Khaine could not end this threat, another war might become a necessity.

The Phoenix kings days and duties knew little else but necessity, in these waning days.

I've got a quick question, how much distance does this cover?

Arm's length for Journeymen, even a Lord Magister isn't going to get more than a 20 meter bubble or so. Square-cube law. Amount of oomph requires goes up fast.

Would the distance scale up if it was enchanted on something particularly large? Like, say, a fortress, or a wall, or a mountain?

It's not that scalable. Square-cube law, amount of oomph required goes up fast.

1. Would it be possible to enchant a gun with Move so it flies into your hand as you reach for it? The idea is to give a boost to Initiative by getting quick draws off faster.
2. What about Move to reduce recoil?
3. Does our shadow magic let us reduce bang and muzzle flash?
4. One of the runes you mentioned for gun runes was reliability. If reliability is something we ought to care about, would Cleansing Glow to clear out dirt and such increase reliability?
5. How much money/favours to get a gyrocarrier?
6. What about to have someone that isn't us trained as a pilot?
7. What's the deal with the Boots of Bovva? Its fluff doesn't mention magic at all and I don't even know what wind of magic went into upping kick damage of all things.

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. Illusion does.
4. Technically yes, but that sort of maintenance takes place off-screen anyway so it wouldn't have on-screen effects.
5. 6 for an unarmed personal transport, 8 for armed, 16 for gyrocarriage.
6. Same price as Mathilde, but it would have to be one of the Undumgi or the Ducklings, they won't teach just anyone. And whoever you teach isn't likely to be an improvement over the K8P motor pool.
7. Not all artifacts fall into the sensible Teclisean framework. No, you can't replicate it.

As you make your way out of the Palace some time later, you find yourself tailed by someone that's so overflowing with nervousness that you can feel them coming. You seriously consider summoning Branulhune as they finally summon their courage enough to approach, but instead of coming at you with a knife, they bow nervously and stutter, "Dame Weber! I am Baronet Holzkrug, in the service of the Chamberlain of the Seal. He would like to meet with you, and talk of matters of state."
Hey BoneyM, if our Diplomacy had been higher could we have guessed why he was nervous?
AFAIK this could be nervousness because we're a wizard, because we're intimidating and he thinkgs we might hurt him if annoyed, because he fears we're disloyal and would try to mindwipe him and run instead of answering the Graf's questions, because he's junior somehow and we're considered more important than him (and could wreck his job if we complain about him to the Graf or the Empress, I guess?)...

Would enchanting our guns with silence actually succeed in making them not make sound when shooting?

Yes. No. Misread the question, sorry.

If you had a more prolonged interaction, maybe.
