@BoneyM how official and of what nature is our new order?
 
The boon vote is only 6 votes apart. I have seen biggest upsets. And even if it doesn't win, the Karak will be wealthier soon enough. Do not be so melodramatic guys.
 
@BoneyM What's the relationship between K8P and Imperial Magical law? Like, as a practical matter I assume Mathilda could easily have any Dar wielding humans who were stupid enough to show up killed, but I wonder if that's been handled in any formal way.

It would be the Loremaster's responsibility to handle it. By default, complaints and extraditions to the Empire is the normal response to any wizard shenanigans, assuming they haven't done anything severe enough for the Order of the Guardians to get involved.
 
Ugh. I'm looking at the boon stuff. And I really like the center of learning thing, except that the wizard sanctuary thing rubs me wrong. I want a grand center of learning, science, and a resumption of the fusions of elf magic and runecraft with the humans as the elf magic peeps. I want K8P to be a center of learning, but not at the expense of Altdorf, if that makes sense.

Not sure what to vote for.

But you may be making the unstated assumption that Altdorf is able to do the things that you identified the Center of Learning in the Eight Peaks does. Altdorf probably would not work as a Center of the resumption of Wind-Runecraft research and work creation. Altdorf probably cannot work as a Center for Studying the Waystone Network. Altdorf is not in proximity to the Southlands, to Nekehara, to the Badlands, to the Darklands , to the Silk Road and so on, and as such as a terrible base for any College or Scholarly expeditions to these lands, or as a base of operations for future would be Dragomas who will walk off into the Dark Lands (who obviously would not stick around in Altdorf, but the Eight Peaks Sanctum could be a difference between returning alive and sane and dying or falling to Dhar). So yes, you'd have to explain further why you think that Altdorf vs Karak Eight Peaks is a zero-sum game, in face of the unique position of the Karak Eight Peaks on the edge of the Karaz Ankor. You are going to need to explain how the Karak Eight Peaks Center of Learning is going to come at the expense of Altdorf (and for the matter, whether Mathilde would actually care about this theoretical possibility), precisely, because, I apologize if this is overly blunt, it doesn't make sense the way you currently phrase it.

There is a reason why our ducklings journeyed all the way to the Eight Peaks, as opposed to working for the Burghers of Altdorf, after all. To say a Center of Learning in the Karak Eight Peaks occupies the same intellectual niches as Altdorf (and therefore is locked in zero-sum game with Altdorf as a Center of Learning) is tantamount to the making the claim that the Journeymen currently in the Eight Peaks could have gotten the same studies they are already conducting in the safety of Altdorf, which is obviously untrue.

So, assuming the gyrocopter hanger loses the vote here, do we want to build the better version using our Penthouse action next turn? Or do we want to construct our fifth Tower room?
[ ] Have a gyrocopter landing pad built into your balcony.
[ ] Have a tower built atop Karag Nar: -100gc for 1 room, bonus to room's purpose.

Also: opinions on our EIC action next turn? Rumor mill or spy organization?
[ ] Put policies in place that local news should be collected and sent to you (rumour mill).
[ ] Start hiring handlers who can then start hiring informers and begin to collect non-public information.

(I'm interested in seeing discussion on the relatively minor "free" actions we get, because most of the discussion has been over big-picture differences, but good lord will people argue about the small stuff if it's not taken into consideration.)

You don't sit on your Elixirs forever just because they're too 'Valuable to use'

Stuff like this takes time to profit from, which means the sooner we can put the ball in motion, the better.

And the "Royal Society of Eight Peaks" idea so far has excellent plot hook potential.

I'm actually not voting for the Gyrocopter Hanger for this vote, because I want the Gyrocopter Landing Pad instead. I am not sure about the others though, but I suspect that there are enough people who do want that Gyrocopter Hanger that want the better version instead, that there should be enough votes for a Gyrocopter Landing Pad to win. At least, I hope so.
