[X] Plan Be the Bigger Witch

[X] Plan: Magic Duties to clean up!
-[X] Enjoy a well-deserved holiday catching up with personal projects and living off your accumulated embezzlement.
--[X] We can't abandon our Sunken Palace until we've figured out the various leaking and/or unsafe magical items (Snake Box, that book, and Shyishkebabs) and worked out how to secure or transport them in our absence.
-[X] Managing your institutions - the EIC, your land, and the Information Network and Gong Farmers if retained.
-[X] Return to Altdorf to face the Magister's tests, and determine what to do with your life later.

I definately prefer the action plan of staying in the Sunken Palace. It lets us keep Ranald's Blessing longer and is super well hidden, unlike the new place in the hills. Plus, we don't need to spend actions moving our stuff and, and if we need to we'll be close enough to meddle in anything really important.

Well, I'm sure we can spend some actions to keep Anton and Wilhelmina as firm and lasting allies. That way we are making sure Anton really isn't a super schemer and Wilhelmina isn't offed by her rotten sons.

Agreed.

Diplomacy 0. Because she could not possibly have been more insulting. We would have been a little salty if she had dismissed us, but would have rolled with it. This though? This is a slap in the face.

Yep. She didn't even manage to work up the guts to talk with Wilhelmina for a few minutes before OR after dismissing her.

Is there currently a plan that covers these points? (The vote tally is still a bit of a mess)

@Zaratustra Plan Keeping the Fruits of our Hard Labor comes close, but not quite. Any chance of tweaking it a bit?

[X] Plan Be the Bigger Witch

What's with all of anger towards her? She has been nothing but polite, offered to write us a recommendation, and has no objections to us beyond our being a constant risk bc of our magic. Magic is always risky in WF, and we are no exception. We simply think the benefits outweigh the risks.

Depends a bit on how the people who already voted would think and how many votes we could get from that.
Persoaly I don't see the point of giving her the micelania and keepin the interesting stuff since it is mostly intesting books so we may a well keep the whole thing, serious what do you think would be left? But I could give her the report now that I know Jack doesn't plan on staying.

ANTON doesns't like her, Anton like everyone... My problem with her is she's in experienced and she's coming in and trying to change things that have been working, with out finding out WHY they are working. She's inexperienced and i think warhammer being warhammer, things are going to go to shit with her in command without someone else making sure everything doesn't fall apart.

Note that Bigger Witch voters should pick another "where are we going to stay" plan as well, as splitting the two plans just makes sense, after some other posters started it.

The new EC is from a bloodline of Witch Hunters and has been (presumably) raised at least somewhat by Witch Hunters. Every anecdote about wizards she would be told would be told by Witch Hunters who had to clean up after them. Witch Hunters are not known for their diplomatic skills, nor would her upbringing emphaize tolerance.

All things considered, for a nervous and inexperienced teenager faced with what she perceived to be someone handling volatile explosives, I'm willing to cut her a bit of slack. Either she'll change her mind or we can correspond via letter.

People arent rational and/or polite when talking to someone they fear but have power over.

as long as we keep the book the network and the saltpeter production, I'm OK with it. I'd rather keep everything except the sword, but I'm not above compromise.

Y'know, I kinda want to see a Negaverse of this little kerfluffle.
The Negaverse would be definite Nat 1 on the side of the new Countess.

Nah the Negaverse knowing they were going to STIRLAND, decided to go with a heavy Anti-Magic build. They took quite a few anti-magic perks... and penalties to make it work.

So basically they built a build that'll wreck against Necromancers and Magic users and all that... but they have a low Diplo/High Martial/Piety, and as a result of their flaws cannot work with friendly magic users.

I bet the train of thought was "Why would we have a trustable magic user in STIRLAND?". And then the GM rolled up the stuff, rolled the Spymaster (us) as a Wizard, and then rolled nat 100 for our usefullness, and laughed, and laughed at the playerbase.

Well, keeping everything seems like a passive-aggressive way of giving her the finger; would prefer not to have the elector countess think more badly of us. (But definitely keep the hat as another sentimental memento!)

@Alliterate 's Plan Be the Bigger Witch also seems to be pretty close to what I'd be ok with, if we'd be able to keep the rifle! :D

I don't want "learning to shoot a Rifle slightly better" to consume two-three actions, better spent on almost anything else.
Then keep it as a memento. I want to vote for your plan, especially as you keep some more personal things of Abelhelm's, but could you please just add the rifle to it? We've had good times with it.

[X] Alliterate

It's better than losing the nitrite, but come on. You are losing a bunch of votes, thus endangering our precious factory, just because you fear we maybe will eventually take an action on the rifle?

I'm really don't want Bigger Witch to win.

What do you find so objectionable?

It amazes me how often questers, once given time to vent, choose to be the good guy.

It's not like we are rolling over for her, we are still keeping the book, the funds and Stirlands biggest potential money maker. Not to mention that if she does ask for advice I imagine our first letter will be 'Don't piss off the second most powerful women in Stirland, don't part ways with your spymaster on bad terms, don't inadvertently purge your court of your only true supporters, and by all that is holy do not do it all on your first day'.

What's with all of anger towards her? She has been nothing but polite, offered to write us a recommendation, and has no objections to us beyond our being a constant risk bc of our magic. Magic is always risky in WF, and we are no exception. We simply think the benefits outweigh the risks.

She might have been very polite about it, but it was still very rude. The proper thing to do would be to deny our application during the actual council meeting, not during the introductions. She should have politely indicated she wanted to go in another direction for intelligence gathering and she didn't have a place for us on the council (easy enough to cite Stirland's poor financial state).

Ultimately it is like Yuckwitte says:

Her decision was made out of fear and inexperience, not hatred. For her father's sake, we can afford to be magnanimous.

Guys, I just realized. We shouldn't give her our network. After all, she seems to be a STUPID zealot, and we forged our network out of all sorts of low types, rogues, thieves, and those with "questionable" worship. Give her the unredacted report and our network, and we'll be painting a target on our own guys' backs.
