Unless, I suppose, news of getting the hat trick to retake 7 of 8 Karags of K8P is enough to set off a baby boom in the Karaz Ankor. Hopefully nothing gets dwarves randier than murdered Skaven and revanchist philosophy
Well, we do know that needing additional hands for X reasons is currently the main reason for Dwarven pop growth, so adding a bunch of necessary patrols (to keep Skaven/greenskins from popping up in the basement) and/or a might need of workers for restoring facility Y (there's a bunch of defunct things like smelters/forges/etc. in K8P) probably isn't too bad a strategy for boosting pop growth.

Probably not across the entire Karaz Ankor, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a baby boom among K8P dwarves.

Corrections: 1) We told him to marry for love, not that he could not pursue Mathilde. 2) Anton is the big brother, Mathilde the little sister.
Except he doesn't love Mathilde like that, nor do we him. And hold on, aren't we supposed to be older? I mean, personally, a lot of our interactions have been on the other end of the spectrum, really.

The thing is, taking these peaks isn't about getting new space, not really. It's about removing the severe number of immediate threats, securing our frontlines with the gates, and the cultural and material gains we will get from being able to finally loot the other half of the Karak. like, for example, in one of the recent council meetings Belegar told Gunnars not to set up a shrine to Smednir because his proper place was in Karag Rhyn. We will have, hopefully, the Throne Room in Karag Zilfin, and we might find more rune-lore in some of the vaults we haven't gotten ahold of. hell, if Mhonar does turn out to be full of rune golems, that would be even better. Also, yes, the hope it spawns might have more population-relevant effects.
Ranuld Silverthumb was the last runesmith to make Rune Golems, he was KAK's runesmith. We have Kragg and Thorek, our gods name is only one away from Silverthumbs and our best buddy has a Gold Thumb. With AV I think we have a solid shot at making and empowering a solid company of rune guards.

Anton was already a councilor when Mathilde was still apprenticing at the college. He did look surprisingly young, though.

Also, if you are waiting for a movie-style falling in love, I think you are in the wrong thread. Love is up to vote here. If we vote to pursue Anton, a relationship will develop. Otherwise, it will not. Same with any other characters.

I know that, but Anton literally has the Romantic trait. I'm just saying at the moment it's not a thing, and we're unlikely to be around him enough for something to develop since we're in Eight Peaks, and he has his own territory to rule.

So here's a thing, since we're still in the weird zone while Boney is writing.

This song came out just this morning.

It's got nothing to do with Warhammer, but by sheer chance the theme and the lyrics are incredibly applicable to nearly every aspect of the quest.

"Shadows loom," indeed.

He's older, but we're just kind of more worldly because our main export is murder, I think. Anton doesn't have to face the dark parts of the world and then stab them, so he can afford to be nice.

I have some feelings about Soizic/Anton.

If we got together with him he'd end up elector count of Solland. Or whatever everything from blood river to skull river would be.

It definitely is a very Ranald style of song, after all we "tip the odds and rig the game" a lot.

I question this, if you think about it, he faced this grim world with optimism and kindness and the world returned it.

I think Antion knows what's up, it's everyone else that are silly fools.
Face the prospect of making fifty innocent people and a pile of devoted chaos cultists go away with optimism, then.

It's a nice sentiment, but unrealistic; please don't call people fools for recognizing that.

That he was in position to meet all those people was not solely to his kindness, at least.

Much of what Mathilde thinks of her childhood, applies to Anton in a roundabout way; were he born in a wrong time and place, the world would've chewed him up.

But he got lucky, and was born in a place where his talents and personality and a hefty dose of luck allowed him to bloom.

"Someone kill that fool before his hubris gets Altdorf burned to the ground by mummies!"

Or possibility by angry witch elves assuming the mummies did not catch on for some reason. You do not play those sorts of games when you are a far softer target then your enemy. The Druchi would mostly love slaves to the Curse of Setra's Sacred Toothpick, the Empire would lose vital population.
