I think it is a bad idea to make a move on Ziflin at the moment. The Dragon is still pissed and sneaking into it's lair right now would definitely see it turn out bad independent of the mystery creature from Mhonar that moved in.

So take assault Rhyn, fortify Ziflin entrances and talk to dragon. Also see about taking Mhonar since it appear to be empty and will link up the hold independent of the caldera.
 
Welp, I was wrong. Skryre was not even a speedbump to the Dragon, and it luckily went after remaining Skaven.

I was kinda hoping that the two problems would take each other out, same as trolls and greenskins, but oh well.

Another thing in favor of the argument that Mhonar mystery is a dwarf revenant.

I still can't believe that we were so lucky that the Destro factions basically self-destructed.

Ps. Although Mathilde's generalship was likely critical, I am still sad that it will be us doing the reconquest rather than Belegar (or even Dreng).

Wait the dragon went into yar and is murdering them ... thats a cheap victory espcially if it doesnt attack us. Only thing im not thrilled about is that the loot wont be for us there and stuff will get destroyed . This might also affect our mors loot we are getting aswell if we cant get a thourgh loot in.

There is a point of falling back to under citadel for now to avoid getting into a conflict with the dragon after it finishes cleaning up yar to avoi issues when it goes to annihilate mors cause it seems to be treating the skaven as the enemy currently.

It should know that mors is based in under caldera and sees the skaven as the enemy currently is the hope more or less.

If it initates diplo that would be best tough after he gets done with skaven , maybe cause he notices the waagh thats incoming after it is done .

we dont know enough about the dragon to try diplomacy i think especially since im not sure wich language it would understand so it opening up contact would be best. My thought is probably fall back to under citadel after we loot the mors as fast as possible so when it goes to check mors he finds them dead outside the karagil faction , wich he might take out tough. Then he goes groundside and hopefully notices us and the incoming waagh and initates contact maybe . Even if its motivation is to use us as meatsheilds it wont know about our tower strategy .

That's not a bad idea, except Yar is a three-way war zone involving Clan Eshin. It's going to be hard enough to infiltrate without someone tagging along. We would get the expert killed.
 
Sooo we have a few trolls occupied in Rhyn,
the skavan are hosting a pissed dragon in Yar,
warp and river trolls in Wyr guarded by static defenses,
and Ziflin appears to be inhabited by whatever was in Mhonar.

I'm thinking we occupy Mhonar with a mixed force. Assault Ziflin with dwarf forces, and fortify and garrison the other two. Secure the unclaimed karags. Also while the dragon's away, the dwarfs and mage will steal his hoard... and maybe make it look like the trolls or greenskins that are coming took it.

Hence why I said she should translate. Personaly given that this is not an Ulthuani Dragon and it has been sleeping for an unkown amount of time I would not be suprised if the only humaniod languages it knows are Khazalid and Queekish.
 
Additionally, if our guesses as to nature of Mhonar Mystery are right, we want to send priests and runepriests/runesmiths there.

Well, that's assuming we want to send anything there at all, of course. I think we should keep avoiding poking dragon's lair.

  1. I seem to remember @BoneyM saying that Mathilde suspects the dragon is more likely to speak elf than dwarf
  2. Not sure how well diplomacy by translation works, but I guess we could take Johan with us, he has decent diplomacy

Belegar has sent of the grudge records for this dragon. They are not here yet but anyone with good diplomacy in the hold will know that Belegar doesn't want to fight the dragon if he doesn't have to. We have WoG that the Dwarfs take dragons on a case by case basis.

Now that you mention it, i can't find the supposed Hysh X-Ray vision spell that everyone has been talking about since we knew about the dragon...
 
Did we ever find out if the dragon had grudges against it? I remember Belegar sending for the information but it has been a bit and I can't remember if we ever got an answer.

I was not really worried about dwarf diplomats being rude, more the dragon reacting badly to a dwarf approaching due to said history, since let's face it dwarfs going right to negotiations with a dragon is unusual and they do not really act out of pattern often. Mathilde on the other hand is a curiosity a mono-wind human wizard. Depending on how long the dragon has been sleeping it may not even know those exist and might listen from sheer curiosity
