Here there be (Very Very Major) inline spoilers!

(no seriously, this is Big Shit news, not just stat changes, it spoils a major plot point in the upcoming social turn that will be relevant to the council meeting and general situation as well)

...

...
Well that happened.
Uh, wow
That's a thing
A botched attack is not a good sign, but that's only one attack of who knows how many and until we know more assuming our information fell flat is premature
The worst was prevented anyway thankfully

Actually, this sort of thing sometimes happens with quote boxes in general. Sometimes quote boxes just don't work properly. It might happen more often with spoiler boxes, I dunno. On the other hand, that might just be because spoiler boxes sometimes tend to have a ton of quote boxes, in some cases. Or... hm. Might happen more often with quotes in spoilers? Not sure.

Anyway. To fix that, I usually try refreshing my page. =/
That'd be browser specific then, since the only time I see messed up quote boxes is when my internet craps out and service dies or in a spoiler.

It likely won't be bad for our reputation, but it will likely affect the favor we get from how successful/not successful the attacks were. Ultimately we provided the intel and the ones doing the assault botched it. It's not on the intel provider that the follow up to the good intel failed, that's on the planners of the follow-up. While I do think that it is unfortunate that things went so south the Elector Count was in danger, the good news is that Prince Kazarik saved him and Karak-Eight-Peaks has even stronger connections to the Empire.

Well the Nuln attacking being botched isn't all that bad, keep in mind that under-city was noted to be the one with the largest mix of clans. So it only makes sense that Pestilens and Mors plus their lackeys probably got swarmed.

I think we have enough empirical evidence to be fairly sure that our intel isn't bad, in the form of multiple clans doing their level best to wipe out Mors.

Against enough angry people empirical evidence isn't enough most of the time,
we just have to hope that there aren't many people asking for blood.

I was commenting in response to speculation that we've been fed bad intel, rather than on the topic of blame assignment; apologies if that wasn't clear. Though even if our intel was bad, whoever's job it was to verify it shares the blame- the Grey's triggering a mass anti-Skaven campaign on the say-so of one person without first checking their info seems unlikely, after all.

Ugh. The downside to spoiler boxes is that when I open them all to read them, hit the bottom of the page, and come back and hit refresh, the page refreshes with the boxes closed and I'm four posts further down than I'd ever read.

I suppose I could scroll back to the top, refresh then, and hit "jump to new", but trading one keypress for a bunch of scrolling and some clicks is not a trade I'm a particular fan of.

There was an Organizations update with data on our fief:
The Weber Estate

The lands of Dame Weber, Knight of Stirland, are a series of rolling limestone hills suitable for herding sheep and goats and not much else. The locals are a hardy and independent lot. It is being overseen by a steward in your absence.

Estate Coffers: 276 gc as of the beginning of 2479
Estate Profits: 35 gc / turn

Estate Upgrades:

Wooden Bailey
Cobble road to Sonningwiese
Blacksmith
Dairy
Loom
Shrine to Ranald
Well
Granary
I don't know what's new and what's not.

Well, maybe all those angry people died in the botched attack!

I did not realize people distrusted the Grey Order that much. We gave them information in good faith, they checked it, then the attacked. Whether it was botched because of the information or not they will not scapegoat Mathilde in this. If they did Grey Wizards would be afraid to do their job and bring relevant information forward. Seriously I'm one of the Empire's greatest critics here and these fears seem far fetched to me.

Goddamit @Abby Normal. I can usually avoid the Dramatis Personae, but I now know its there, in that spoiler tag, and it's going to taunt me for the rest of the wait.
I mean, at least this way you know not to go clicking on the billions of spoiler tags in the discussion, so you wont run into it without wanting to know :p

Assuming you mean the one this morning at 8:45, i mentioned it earlier, but all thats changed so far is that the in-progress factory got added to the EIC info; nothing on the fief yet

My fears are mostly based on this quote from Algard
I'll have a little word with people who'll have a little word with people. If it all ends in disaster pray you never hear a word of it again
It is starting to look a bit disaster-ish, so...

Regarding our intel, there's a third possibility; our intel is not wrong, just outdated, and the Horned Rat has spoken to end the war.
Nah, not possible. The social turn events occur concurently with the main turn. If that was so, the hostilities between Mors ans Ksryre would cease, and it would be very noticeable in the correspondence we obtained this turn.

I think the implication there is 'if it all ends in desaster and you hear about it that means the Grey Order failed to keep the information that you were the source out of the public eye,' not 'we might throw you to the wolves'. That would be an insane way to run an intelligence apparatus.

we know that at least clan Mors and Skryre are still fighting, and Moulder was still fighting until recently, so if the fighting stopped then Mors were excluded, Eshin seems to be doing nothing tho, so who knows.

"No more fighting, welcome your brother's into the pack yes-yes, except for those guys in the city of pillars, fuck-fuck those guys"

Not necessarily; it might be that only Pestilens was forgiven (again) and Mors thrown under the rat-bus.

Oh, I see no scenario where we will be thrown to the wolves. However, that doesn't meant that the higher-ups of the grey order can't be disappointed with us and won't make their disappointment known and felt.

If the Greys couldn't corroborate the information they wouldn't have launched the attack. If the assault was a dismal failure that's not Mathilde's fault.
