I'm certainly up for buying Esoteric Dwarf books on Skaven. And buying Esoteric books on the Karaz Ankor is also a good idea. :)

Ah, though, somebody remind me again -- what are the barriers to buying Esoteric Imperial books on Skaven? I remember that we can't just buy them with money, double especially because the topic is Skaven, but I can't remember if College Favor would allow us to bypass that?

Skaven: Esoteric Dwarf, Esoteric Imperial
The Karaz Ankor: Esoteric Dwarf, Esoteric Imperial

(Would probably prioritize getting the Skaven books over the Karaz Ankor books, but would prefer both.)

That would be cool to get, if we can. Hm. Maybe round out our culture and stuff a bit more. Finally get the Imperial books on Ulthuan, to counteract the Dwarf ones. ... I wonder if books on the Border Princes are worth getting. Since, I mean... We may be next door to them. But they're also so fractious that any books written on them may not be very good. Hm.

Also, to help with the Quintessence thing... More books on Chemistry, in case it'd help. Books on Alchemy, if we can get it. As a long-term thing, I'd also like to get up to Esoteric on Sevir and Aethyr if possible. And Esoteric Ulgu. All these Esoteric ones are certainly stretch-goals and long-term want-to-have purchases though, because we'd be running out of favor fast if we did that.

So this means that the MAP works with fire. Which wind do people think will adapt it next
I think the idea is that it was already adapted as lesser magic and works for all colleges no? If you think about it, Ulgu is probably the worst wind to make a map with, so it should be the hardest, and it's already simplified by that bright guy

When the current Emperor dies the next Emperor will be elected by the Empire Counts. They won't vote for a child so there will not be a need for an Empress Regent. I''m not sure if there has been an Empress yet, but I'm resonably sure those they can happen if the Elector counts vote for one.
There have been Empresses throughout the Empires history, though none recently.

Lore question, though: can a woman become Empress Regnant, not just Empress Consort? That is to say, if Heidi has a girl, is this the presumed heir of the Empire of Man, or can only men gain the imperial throne?

Certainly. Women can be Elector Countesses (e.g. Roswita) and all of them are eligible for ascending to the throne of the Empire. One of the claimants who started Age of the Three Emperors was Ottilia, Countess of Talabecland - a woman.

Thank you, I wasn't sure if the Empire of Man needed a Pragmatic Sanction or something.

The barrier is "we already own them" :)
Skaven +9 - Extensive and Esoteric Imperial / Extensive Bretonnian / Extensive Dwarven
EDIT: @chocolote12, you posted after me, but you should see this.

It's college favor, if I recall correctly. They exist, but they're locked behind the Conspiracy.

It is incredible that people are making strategic use of the information we delivered, but Order races actually using this opportunity to kick Skaven in the teeth while they are down most likely sharply decreases time until Horned Rat's direct intervention.

We really should kick Skavens out of K8P as soon as possible, before we are presented with united skaven front. It is a difficult task, but I really don't feel like getting fucked by what ninja-wizard-warrior skaven clan trifecta can accomplish together.

I'm just glad that the one to build on our work was a Lord Magister rather than some nominal equal styling over us.
That is what L.M. Olenus (Bright) indicates, yes?

At least two women have claimed the imperial throne in the past acording to warhammer lore. Empress Ottilia the first of Talabecland, whose refuseal to except the, suposedlly rigged by the Cult of Sigmar, election of the, male, stirland emperor and Empress Margraritha of Nuln, who the Cult of Sigmar refused to acknowledge. Their accession started the Age of Three Emperors and completed the dissolution of the Empire respectivly.

While those being the only two mentioned by GW doesn't paint the best picture of their chances no one seems to have a problem with female Elector Counts so I'd be suprised if they are the only Empresses.

It does stand as further evidence the the Cult of Sigmar is crap and follows a crap god though.

True. Though, suddenly the Order races all stomping on Skaven Under-cities might lead to some panicked redeployment of forces away from Karak Eight Peaks, which might weaken the Skaven we have to fight.

This does leave Clan Mors in a better spot in the longer term, but they've been on their last legs for a while now, so if things go well, we might have a window of opportunity when the Skaven are weaker. If so, we need to hire every mercenary we can to help bulk up our forces.

Come to think of it, I wonder how the interrogation of that Druchii has gone. If the whole Moulder-Dark Elf diplomacy was something major, maybe we'll see Ulthuan jumping in to help kick the Skaven as well.

Hey y'all, I just came up with the perfect Deceiver lie to Quesh considering Mathildes particular background:
"I promise I wont share any Queekish you teach me! I just want to add your species literature to my collection! Look, I have already got a bunch Druuchi novels and learned Eltharin to be able to appreciate them!":V

Some things are baked into the setting. I'd hope nobody takes Mathilde's internal monologue as real-world advocacy.
Yeah that's about what I figured, it's just that the idea that torture is unpleasant but a necessary evil is pervasive, so I try to make a point of calling it out to push back whenever I see it.

Just as a heads-up to purchase planners, since I am likely to be AFK for the actual update dropping:
If we go for one of the non-checkpoint options, can we still shell out Dwarf Favor to have our entrance secured?
Yes, it'll be an option for the penthouse slot in future turns.
The time to pay Dwarf Favour to secure our home is not during the coming purchase phase, it is in the action plan next turn, so we want to conserve Dwarf Favour to be able to pay what that will cost.
EDIT:
Am I the only one a bit worried that his name is literally one letter off from Manfred the disappointment.
Are you devoted to Ranald or not? A single-face rotation of the die is all it takes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Such redeployment is unlikely. Most (all?) fronts mentioned are against Pestilence-aligned clans. It is not "let's kick Skaven when they have civil war", it is "let's kick Pestilence because no one will help them"

I think we want to secure our home/prisoner as soon as possible given the kicking that the skaven are likely to get out of only the first interogation action.

I agree completely, and I will spend Dwarf Favour like water on this the moment we are allowed, but Boney indicated what the correct time to do that for bookkeeping purposes is, and it's not the purchase phase of this turn, it's the penthouse action in the next turn, where presumably he will give us options to vote on. We don't get it any sooner by doing it now.

I mean, unless he's changed his mind since the post I cited. @BoneyM, no need to answer this in the thread, but I think a note of clarification under the voting options about "If you want to secure Mathilde's home base further, the correct time to do that is [now/later]" would be useful so that people understand how to translate intent into mechanics.

No, the Colleges operate on a Master-Apprentice system so there's no formalized methods for managing groups of wizards. Improving action economy for wizard underlings is trait territory, not skills.
Does this mean we could invent those methods/skills eventually and teach them to the colleges for College favor?
