Bit busy so not poking at stuff for a couple hours yet but some observations:
Wilhelmina Hochschild, Steward of Stirland
Relation: 9/10 - Wilhelmina sometimes wonders why her sons can't be more like you.
Wilhelmina had decided we're her long lost daughter.
The Honourable Anton Kiesinger II, Chancellor of Stirland
Relation: 8/10 - he's pretty much adopted you as his little sister.
Whereas Anton thinks we're his little sister
Elector Count Abelhelm Van Hal
Relation: 9/10 - You fought by his side. You've tortured by his side. To his surprise, he trusts you.

Van Hal has us as one of two people he trusts.

We need some cute junior to finish the set!

On combat training, would it be useful to learn how to use pistols and/or daggers? They can be hidden, right? Might be good to have a surprise weapon.

The Diplomat and his Dragon Prince.

A powerful tale of charged romance and high adventure by new author, Dame Mathilde Weber

Now I have mental images of Asarnil and Anton taking dragon rides by moonlight.
"Goodness! The view from up here really is quite something, isn't it!"

"Indeed. Never in all my centuries have my eyes lain upon a more bewitching sight."

"Yes, the Fort is rather remarkable. Oh, I can see dear Mathilde on her magic horse! Hellooo!!!"

"Woe, that the words of so transient a flame can burn my immortal soul so! I would dash us to the rocks and end it all! If only you had eyes for someone... closer."

"Oh! Well, you're a jolly nice fellow too, Asarnil." Anton shifts awkwardly in the saddle. "I say, is that your sword hilt back there?"

———

Smiling, Mathilde dips the quill in ink once more. Her muse is singing and inspiration flows.

Voters, take note:

Our GM is probably asleep or something, so there are multiple relevant questions to be answered which may cause further changes in my vote. However, for the moment, I have made the following modifications following other players' input:

The proposed order "[ ] The Wurtbadian Watch is now your attack dog - let its reach spread across Stirland." has been removed. This is because there is the possibility that Watch expansion is currently impossible and we don't want to be open to the possibility of accidentally volunteering for something impossible and then ordered to do it.

The proposed order "[ ] Your intelligence infrastructure is becoming worthy of the title; perhaps you could dedicate some time to expanding it. And, ideally, Stirland could pay for it directly instead of it eating your discretionary income." has been removed. This is because we have already been turned down for more money, so we have no reasonable expectation of being able to expand our intelligence network without additional cash, which we won't get.

The proposed order "[ ] Your intelligence infrastructure is becoming increasingly costly, and Stirland's finances are limited; perhaps you could dedicate some time to pursuing means of making it self-financing so that it can expand without constantly demanding more of the budget." has been added. This is because Van Hal has told us previously that he's not inclined to increase our intelligence budget and basically ordered us to figure out lower-cost ways of doing things or self-finance moving forward.

The private report item "[ ] You suspect that Gustav might be understating the army's casualties a bit, more as a result of his personality than anything malicious. Still, something to keep in mind if he's making a habit of it." has been added. This is because we have that speculation in-character based upon reasonably reliable intelligence and passing it along to Van Hal could be useful.

The private report item "[ ] If Van Hal wishes, you could write the Colleges requesting that wizards come to Stirland for the upcoming campaign. They won't come cheap, but there's a lot to be said for a more battle-oriented wizard than you being part of any venture into Sylvania." has been added. This is because it's a practical offer within our means that will serve Stirland's interests and Van Hal would likely appreciate it.

The private report item "[ ] Are we expecting to confront the Von Carstein believed to live in Castle Drakenhof, who claims the title of Elector Countess, during this campaign? Our information on her from the captured infiltrator is sparse, but she has at least one skilled necromancer in her service based upon the spell they were using, so that could turn ugly fairly quickly." has been added. This serves the double purpose of ensuring that Van Hal was informed about the Countess (the lack of explicit text to that effect following our previous vote to inform him leaving his knowledge somewhat ambiguous) and letting us know what to expect in six months.

Please continue to provide comments and the plan will be updated as appropriate.

Nice. Given van Hal's history, we should probably be... accurate in tattling on the new Marshall.

"You check your mental notes; according to the casualty figures your Network has access to he's underplaying casualties somewhat, but then, most of them were walking wounded and should be back to fitness by year's end."

There seems to be a difference between underestimating casualties, and this- which perhaps speaks more to the over-optimism Mathilde notes, rather than outright fabrication or ignorance.

I am reasonably sure that the vote option I have currently written is accurate. Is it possible that you read "understating" as "underestimating"? If you did not, please clarify where you think the vote has an inaccuracy as I have failed to understand you properly.

I can't think of anything else to add. And I'm always down for adding magic options to the orders list.

Good call on Gustav.

I initially thought that expanding the Watch was outright impossible as well, but then why would the option still be on the defaults? "Stirland Watch: Special Branch formed; covering Purgg and Wurtbad. Further expansion impossible for next two turns." could also imply that it's only the "Special Branch" which can't expand so I went with that interpretation.

That said: @BoneyM, if you could be so kind as to clarify...?

I've made it clearer in the post - expansion altogether is impossible, since all incoming recruits will be dedicated to areas currently covered only by the Special Branch.

@BoneyM How likely would it be for Van Hal to chance his given order to Gustav and instead arrange a full mobilization and march for Drakenhoff, if we told him what we found out?

That there's some sinister power nesting within Drakenhof isn't news, it's been the status quo for millennia. Having a dragon is going to make him consider scaling up operations, however - especially if Anton had more success in Ostermark (yet to be reported) and if he can get Zhufbar in on things.

I thought we wrote to tell Van Hal everything the infiltrator told us which would include the Von Carstein count? Was this not the case @BoneyM?

Yes, Van Hal knows. That the horror currently atop the eternal stack of horrors in Drakenhof is claiming the title of Von Carstein didn't even surprise him.

@BoneyM Is this dragon lord hired full time from now until the assault, then? Or just here to make the arrangements, then he'll be off until the attack starts?

He's going to be around until the Purge, and he'll be making independent forays into Sylvania until then.

Also @BoneyM when stats for Asarnil?

Martial is easily in the thirties, and that's without the dragon.

Good point, option edited; though it'd be an easier sell as a fait accompli than something you ask permission for.

@BoneyM That great-sword proficiency is gone from the char sheet.

And Weber is only a good combatant on her horse. Her magical horse that obeys her like it was a part of her body...

I can see why that would add +5 Martial. A trained warhorse is a weapon. Being a living breathing centaur is probably even better.

On that note, @BoneyM can Mathilda train in jousting and fighting while on horseback? Is a great-sword usable on horseback for her? Since she doesn't need the rains or worrying about falling from horseback at all? Does she know how to use her horse to trample people and beasts?

Or are all these things yet to come? Or impossible?
