[X] Guard bypass
I'm in zero rush to codify our Shadow Sword mastery, but this is the style upgrade that applies for when we eventually attempt to do so.

I'd argue every single possible advantage very much matters if things get to that point.

Not that it's likely.
If we are in a situation where we are duelling Malekith, then we have already lost and can be considered functionally dead. I suspect that such advantages are along the lines of we die two seconds later as opposed to two seconds earlier.

Anyways I want to mark items off our list and considering the fact that we are told that doing both is a marginal gain and hence not the most efficient use of AP. As the example per Boney if we come up against a foe using equipment that can survive one blow from us, both options should kill the foe (with bypass killing slightly faster)
[X] Double-tap
[X] Guard bypass

[X] Both

While somewhat marginal, where at a point where the majority of improvement we can get is already getting more and more like this, and stacking every margin is how we keep ahead.

[X] Guard Bypass
Double tap is also stronger if the opponent parries us with something magically durable and is themselves out of reach of the sword behind that barrier but otherwise not very armored. Like if they hide behind a magical gate or have a magical bodyguard or just have unnaturally long limbs holding a weapon or shield. With double tap they get a shotgun blast directed towards them.
Yeah but thats a case of "and I hit them again next round".
Guard Bypass seems to solve new problems better - Double Tap makes us more efficient at solving problems we can already solve.

In retrospect that makes a lot of sense. Wilhelmina's primary experience of Wizards is Mathilde. Her natural assumption would be that a Grey Wizard should be swinging a sword about and thus her granddaughter should get started on that early.
That's not exactly wrong. The Sword of Judgment* is the symbol of the Grey Order, one of the available College lessons is swords and swordplay, our Magister examination included a duel where our opponent used a sword (Mathilde used a gun, then a sword), I think some source book actually says Grey Wizards favour swords as a weapon though I don't remember which and I don't know if Boney made that quest canon. Greatswords specifically are a bit more unusual, I think.

*Speaking of which, Mathilde's coat of arms is the symbol of the Grey Order killing the symbol of the Light Order. I wonder how many in the Colleges are aware of this, and what they make of it.

Oh yeah, meant to ask.

What Waystone Project deliverables are we expecting that we can stick silly acronyms on? I'm not just talking about stuff Mathilde is involved with enough to include her name into acronym somehow, I'm talking about anything, I mean look at these:

'Roots of Stone', 'Liminal Germination' and 'Aethyric Impluvium'.
Boring acronyms and as such all of them terrible failures of a ritual.

Mathilde dropped the ball there as manager, and must do better in the future.

Side note, i can't believe nobody brought up the possibility of yeeting Branalhune at things then flickering it back to our hand.

...yes im aware thats what the guns are for and throwing your sword leaves you hideously vulnerable even if only for a split second and yes kragg's rune probably doesnt even work without holding the weapon but it would be really funny

Much like how Mathilde wields a comically large 'dagger', Eike wields a sharp metallic 'stout walking stick'. With a proper bonking style even!

Never before has violence been so adorable and sweet.

It has not been asked in precisely that context, but from previous posts I think it would not do nearly as much as one might hope as the canon part of canon sword only works when you are using is in melee.
