Mathilde and Johann devise a spell that points to the location of an object's creation.

They use it.

It doesn't point north. It doesn't point east.

It points south. They now have a compass pointing at Karak Zorn.
That would be pretty cool.

Although it's more likely that it's an Azyr/Chamon windherding thing, which Mathilde would be only tangentially involved in.

Feel like the end result of the Cult of Bogs is Manhorak priests making pilgrimages to Mousillon to meet the Grey Men.

Grey Men

The Grey Men, swamp-dwelling humanoid entities of unknown origin that seem to possess great intelligence but never speak, hold a peculiar place in Mousillon's folklore. On one hand, they are held responsible for the disappearance of any number of peasants who ill-advisedly leave the safety of...

I 100% agree with this post, and am so grateful someone else also voiced how I feel.
Even if it was behind spoilers, I would feel less safe reading this story, and might stop even then.
I want a clarification on this, because while I fully respect people's triggers and want to avoid prying on things, I'm also on a hair trigger and this is coming across the wrong way.

In what way does having a romantic erotic scene locked behind spoilers, not relevant to the story, an attack on anyone's space? I say this because I'm hyper-concious that the discussion revolves around two women here.

Ah, I see how what I said could be taken that way.

I feel similarly about pornography, no matter who or what genders, genotypes, phenotypes etc. are involved.

I feel threatened by it because I feel strongly for personal, cultural, and religious reasons that the inside of my head must be clean of pornography. If I accidentally click on the wrong spoiler, or if anyone fails to label them appropriately (because they are often not labeled clearly, even just in the last few pages of this thread), then I am exposed to things that are difficult to forget and my feeling of safety on this site is damaged.

Ah, that is informative. Then I suppose this rule covers you:

"We do not allow content which is pornographic, sexually or violently exploitative, or which exploits the participation of minors.
  • Content on Sufficient Velocity may be aimed at mature readers and they may contain mature elements, but they cannot be pornographic or exploitative."
We are not talking about pornography. This is not content designed to tittilate. I understand cultural and religous reasons, I'm Muslim although I don't practice, but we are not talking about untagged content that throws explicit pornography at you. We're talking about emotional, meaningful fulfilment through physical contact.

I respect your desires, but I'm also bothered by the implication that we're talking about pornography.

While there will no doubt be stiff competition, given that the only person who has apparently expressed interest in being the Markgraf might be a vampire, I hope that looking into who Roswita might appoint gets to be one of the social votes. It will likely either increase or assuage paranoia, both of which are good outcomes.

I don't know how to express myself correctly, but I'll try. Personally it's not a trigger, but I really don't like to read erotic texts in a non-erotic story. When I'm comfortably reading a story and the suddenly there's explicit sex, i find that extremely jarring. It completely breaks my immersion and enjoyment.

That's fine. I was asking how it was an attack on your space if it's placed in Sidestories or whatever and tagged under spoilers. You can choose to skip it and not miss anything. If I were invited to a party and I was offered alcohol, I would refuse because I don't drink, but I can see that other people drink it and that's fine with me. You don't have to partake and you're not losing anything.

I'm not advocating for explicit content, but the separation between erotic and non-erotic works is personally more jarring to me than anything. It is far more meaningful when there is a scene between two characters that I've grown to see closer if there isn't an erotic scene every chapter.

@Boney , you seem to have a really fleshed out grasp of the WF Endtimes universe setting. Is there any group of books, essays, wikis or posts you'd accredit that to, or otherwise recommend for reading yourself in? I've done Gotrek and Felix and gotten fairly deep into Total War, but every time I reread in this quest it seems like I'm seeing one new reference to a piece of esoterica I've barely heard of.

I'm not Boney, but I can self plug my thread I think:

Let's Read: Warhammer Fantasy: End Times

Introduction: Hello there. Welcome to my study. My name is Codex, and if you’re reading this, you may or may not know me from Divided Loyalties, an excellent quest from this website written and QMed by the lovely @Boney, who kickstarted my interest in and love for the Warhammer Fantasy setting...

I only read the first book and I still have one chapter left to go, and I've taken a hiatus due to being hospitalised, but I cover a fair bit of End Times Nagash I think. Relevant to this is that I covered the fight with Druthor in End Times Nagash. It was similarly hilariously onesided as the one in DL.

I will say that most of the little details are from 2ed WFRP, with the broader details being the from the core books for the TT.

most of 2ed Wfrp can be found as pdfs online as its out of production (it's 4ed now.)

So, @Boney , when are we going to get pending favours for the Rune-Axe, Rakilid un Thaggorhun, and the Anti-Waagh lectures and the salamanders.
Also, question to players, are we never going to check up on the salamander eggs?

Rune-Axe is stalled due to lacking information on its provenance, Rakilid un Thaggorhun / Anti-Waaagh will be pending until there's some proper demonstration of their value, which are largely dependent on outside factors unless Mathilde goes and steals another gas mask.

The main corpus of works I use for the setting is the 2nd Edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and the 8th Edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, but some of the sources I draw from are esoteric even for major fans of the setting. A lot of the time they're not something I already knew about, they're something I read about on the wiki or somewhere else and investigated the original source for more details. Just recently, Tarni is from Stone and Steel, Nyklaus (if it is the same Nyklaus) is from Dreadfleet, the Prophecies of Nospheratus are from Vampireslayer, Druthor the Strigoi was from End Times, and one of the possible results for the looting was the room of a Vampire from a White Dwarf article from 1999, and Goendul is from Norse mythology. I don't expect any one person to be able to catch every reference, the idea is that someone in the thread might and point it out to everyone else.

Sadly, Cython must never learn of how that entire caboodle happened.
IIRC, Boney's stated that we didn't actually start the chemical spill that woke Cython up; Skyre did that themselves a day or two later because... I forget why. I think they'd gotten paranoid and decided to retreat into the heart of their territory while poisoning the rest, or something?

Infighting, from what I vaguely remember. They started trying to kill each other after we upset the power balance, someone did something stupid, and that got to Cython.

My memory is that, with all that toxic sludge they had to move it to their backup dumping grounds.

And some big-brained Warlock Engineer decided that the backup dumping grounds would be the dragon's lair.

Wow, we are just taking everything huh. Honestly expected to leave at least something for someone else, I wonder if there being so many different choices to give to other people lowers the odds of any one option surpassing the You option.

Probably not, since this quest allows you to approval vote for whatever you want, including mutually exclusive options.

People just aren't seeing the value in making friends with other libraries at the expense of making our own library less prestigious.
