Install in on our Gyrocopter, no idea what we'd have it do but it would be spectacular.
...I've been thinking this for a while, unrelated to the latest update, but if we permanently enchanted our gyrocarriage's blades and maybe engine with Silence, it'd probably be both more comfortable for long-term trips and also stealthy.

With an Orb, what the hell would be the result? I can't imagine it'd be less than invisible and silent at will. Maybe a stronger engine, capable of working longer and more efficiently? Armored? The sky's the limit.

Now, if We wins the vote, we have to let them read Liber Mortis as a part of library, right? Could We possibly become a Dhar magic theorist without danger of actually doing something stupid with it?
they also think copies are inherently worthless and mentally cant give books away.

that is bad for a library. copying and lending are want they do in this type of time setting.

Lending really isn't a thing. If someone else wants to read your books, they either do it in the library or send scribes to make a copy to take home. The original copies don't actually leave the library.

I remember some kind of discussion about that. If I recall correctly, consensus was that it is not safe, because without sound you can easily miss a lot of problems with gyrocarriage.

Not exactly?
- A note on libraries: The possessiveness of some potential recruits is not as much of a concern as you might think. in this era, most libraries only ever lend out books if they have multiple copies or to exceptionally trusted individuals. They don't work the same way as modern libraries, where almost everything is expected to go out the door on a regular basis.

Actually the gifts should be a expensive suit and the 8 new orbs.
I think the gift should be one shitty colored glass orb we pretend is an orb of sorcery, and then we present him the actual real ones.

Oh, that's fair, I didn't consider that. But is enchanting the gyrocarriage in different ways still viable?

Silence only affects speech.

I believe Boney previously stated you need Illusion to mask noise.

I really like the idea of tying the library into the culture of the Karak, and I'm still a little bit wary of the more exotic options.

Would be fun if we present the Orbs to Algard and initially make him believe that we were able steal them from each college without anyone noticing, then saying that is a lie and that we just made our own.

orphans are a plain downgrade from the we. the spiders don't have divided loyalties and can become supernaatural levels of eficient given time.

If Cython becomes Librarian, what happens to the Library if Cython moves?

It's changed lairs before. If it decides to do it again, and to take its hoard - the Library - with it...

This could be a problem.

Well we would make a deal with him so he does not do that, now he could of course break it... but as the GM put it if he wanted to steal our library he could do it anyway with or without a title.

It's just that they might be more likely to do it with a title, since there's still a difference between "moving my stash" and "adding someone else's stuff (that they often let me use in the past) to my stash and then moving it all". The second is considered theft, and while Cython might not respect local laws as much as everyone else, it's still impolite, and they don't strike me as someone who's that tactless.

A dragon with a job that allows his hoard to grow with both gold and books. I do not see Cython leaving unless the Karak looks to fall. Than him taking the library is not a bad thing since it will still exist.
