If only more than three partying options could win! Oh well, we'll just have to win more wars and therefore have more parties.
[ ] Drinking
[ ] More drinking
[ ] Drinking games
I am extremely wary of these because of the "testing the ale" social votes above; if that wins and then drinking wins, Mathilde could get very boozed very quickly. And no one wants drunken and extremely powerful wizards running around, even the wizards.
Sad Mathilde would be nice to see from a characterization perspective but I don't know that I want to vote for it and thereby push her into being sad at a party.
This seems like a silly investment of our limited options.
[ ] Listening to Longbeards grumble
Sure to be amusing but I don't know that I want to do it. Besides, all their best grumbling will be done in Khazalid and we don't speak it.
[ ] Telling war stories
[ ] Sparring
[ ] Target shooting
These could be a great way to bond with any of the warrior types, of whom there are quite a few running around. Mathilde has some serious mundane combatant chops and cred, and flashing it is a good way to make friends. Solid choices.
[ ] Put on a magic display (Petty and Lesser only)
I would love to see what Mathilde does for this, and if she can pull it off in a way that will be enough to overcome the general bad PR of mages. I suppose it might also be a good way to rapidly gather a group of more pro-magic humans into our circle of acquaintances, since anyone who views and enjoys the show obviously isn't against magic in general. Maybe we could even recruit some future prospects for hosting a Matrix and going on crazy suicidal missions while enhanced with one-shot magical powers here, if we want to be insufferably businesslike about it. Note that this option combines very poorly with the various forms of drinking and I would strongly advise against voting for both, lest Mathilde end up needing to make casting checks due to drunkenness.
[ ] Play with a giant wolf
[ ] Play with a demigryph
Giant wolf, we could probably get away with. Wolves are social and we have wolfing experience thanks to Wolf. Perhaps we could even have our small wolf play with the large wolf and have it be cute. A demigryph will just maul us and we'll deserve it for being an idiot.
[ ] Valayan religious service
[ ] Ulrican religious service
[ ] Taalite religious service
Valayan religious service could be very interesting to see but it'll be in Khazalid and we don't speak it, so no. Ulrican or Taalite could be a good way to bond with/show respect for either of those gods. But given our limited time, if we're going to worship someone...
[ ] Gambling
[ ] Hold a Ranaldan religious service
Do you want to worship Ranald, on the night of his triumph? I know I do. I can't think of any night on which it would be more appropriate to roll some dice in exaltation of his name.
[ ] Help move the Karag Nar hoard
Do you want to be responsible and work while everyone else is partying? If yes, vote this.

That sounds more than reasonable, but the reliability of Mathilde's magic is something we should know before the final push. Is she feeling back to normal casting-wise after her rest?

Yes, back to firing on all cylinders.

What about spending time with her familiar?

She'll be doing so regardless.

Did we remove the illusion from the treasure and turn it in?

It dissipates after a few hours on its own.

So, please correct me if this was mentioned in the updates, but the small hill of gold in Nar has been safely transported to the treasury by Belegar in secret?

Yes lets tell Belegar and Kragg that we worship Ranald the God of Thieves after we spent
hours alone in the vault full of money. I am sure their will be no consequences for that.

The fact that we worship him is and open secret. We made him the patron of the Sirland guard and he is known to be a god favored by grey wizards . Secondly yous seem to have a very poor opinion of what Dwarf reputation 20 (among the highest of any living non-dwarf) means.

[X] Tell Belegar and Kragg.
Not certain about this, but they do kind of deserve to know (and while Kragg might not have known the exact details of tomfoolery that's going on, he knows somethings' foolin' tom)

[X] More drinking

"Good. Off you go." She flees, and you sigh.
That was an excellent lecture which I have no doubt will be followed. Kudos @BoneyM , that's not an easy thing to do in my experience. Starting with something as shocking and personal as the Asp to get the foot in, and almost ending with something as blatant and immediately visible as our shadow, and then topping that as having come off lightly seems to be particularly effective.

takes notes

[X] Tell Belegar and Kragg.
Very much this. It's not against Ranald to speak of it, they should know, and it's safe to tell them. Humans might care about Ranald getting stronger, competing with their own favorites, but these two don't care.

[X] Join the hunting with Ulthar
Might be due to how excellently done Dwarven Rangers are written in Recursive Nightmare, but I like them a lot. Extremely competent guys. Might help our stealth skill and I like Ulthar.

[X] Sparring
Few have a chance to spar with a mage. Should help them get used to magic and provide them with invaluable experience, and Mat could use the experience too.

[X] Put on a magic display (Petty and Lesser only)
Important I think, though perhaps to only human crowds... gotta get them used to magic, and it would help make mages more approachable in their eyes, which should help with their acceptance.

[X] Help move the Karag Nar hoard
We are uniquely qualified for this.

[X] Yes to Shenanigans
Fun!

Besides, she already was alone in that room for hours. If they trusted us regardless, Ranald is unlikely to change said trust.

edit: and oh yes, Mathilde in lecture mode has absolutely zero chill.

"I summoned a daemon," you say, and you're grimly pleased at the expression on her face. "At the age of sixteen. Wisdom's Asp. It followed me from the other side of mirrors and it wanted so very much to wrap itself around me and bury it's thorns into my skin. It stalked me for seven years until I managed to trap it." She stares at you in horror. "Don't you worry about that - they like Ulgu and Ghur and Hysh. No, mishandled Ghyran calls to Rotwyrms, giant insubstantial daemon-maggots that hunger for flesh." You look away, so Panoramia's horror doesn't dissuade you. "Just last month at Und-Uzgar, my shadow came to life and crushed to death the creature closest to me, which I'm very glad was a Skaven rather than any of my compatriots." You see her look down, and you follow her gaze to your shadow, which as always was flitting around following its own desires, rather than obeying the angle of the sunlight. "Yes, it's been like that ever since. Despite that, I consider myself lucky. During the Battle of Drakenhof, a Magister of the Light Order named Jovi Sunscryer fumbled something he was trying to do and exploded into flames of pure Hysh. Needless to say, he died. So did most of those unlucky enough to be living in that district. Are you starting to see my point?"

ok, so that was a bit harsher than I expected, but also kinda perfect. She didn't respect the danger of miscasts, so we talked her though just how catastrophic miscasts could be. It sounds like we did a fairly good job driving home the point that things can go badly wrong. Not like, life changing, but about as impactful as one lecture will be.

I'm going to refrain from voting in the first group of who to speak to. On one hand, this seems like a really deep secret to be buried because it combined magical dangers and shunned gods, on the other hand, Kragg might know something very interesting and useful, and Belegar is needed to wrangle Kragg.

Pre-celebration: Hunting with normal humans, it'll be a nice distraction from magic and dwarf wars.
And then sneaking early bites at halfling food. Plus, seeing how Panoramia is taking it.

Celebration: Drinking, obviously! And gambling, and perhaps some opportunities to see more of Ruprecht, I like him. No magical displays, not while drunk among Stirlanders and dwarves, that might go over badly even before the chance of a crappy roll and suddenly everyone nearby Drops what they're holding. (I'm not saying that's a trap option, but that might easily be an embarrassing option.)

A protocol had been passed from father to son a dozen times over for how to answer a polite knock rather than an incipient siege, but the knocking had driven it from their minds.
On that note, how many thousand years has this been? Actually, how old do dwarves even get?
If Ranald wishes it to be known that Mork is disadvantaged, he is able to make it so, and in ways that do not reveal your involvement.
This only seems relevant for the question of whether to tell Ulric or Sigmar. I don't see it being relevant to most people. Of course, Ranald is the kind of person who would love to brag about a successful heist…

[ ] Tell Belegar.
[X] Tell Belegar and Kragg.
Actually, the only one I really want to tell is Kragg, who already suspects something is up. Will probably be easier to get to him through Belegar, though, so I'll also vote for this.

I mean dwarves don't like Ranald and sometimes being honest, especially with something like this, tends to do more harm than good.
Citation needed. I suspect they don't know enough about him to actively dislike him. Likely to dislike certain aspects of him, but why focus on those when telling them?

Van Hal, the very much not corrupted witch hunter turned lord of Sirland read the book for anti-undead insights.
Just a note that this is conjecture. It's certainly possible, but it is not a fact.

Vote to be sad and we're guaranteed to make a friend who'll try to cheer us up!

Or maybe people will steer clear of the broody looking Grey Wizard, it's really a coin toss as to which of those would happen.

Because introspection is the greatest of all past times and what kind of Dwarf wouldn't respect a reminiscence of the good ol' days.
Followed by letting off some stress with mindless cruelty on the Grobi.

Everyone voting for the Panoramia option does know it totally undermines the lecture Mathilde just gave her. I understand that the shippers are out on this subject, but come on.

Particularly as Mathilde has a much more valuable nascent friendship with Wulfhart to cement. Not to mention that making sure that some idiots don't stumble over the hoard is very important.
