Is it possible that Mathilde has the Beautiful trait but just doesn't know it because she's never seen herself in a mirror and isn't that social?

Damnit @BoneyM look what you did!

Now I have to write some thing lude and make arguments to make Weber either beatiful or atteactive...take responsibility Boney-senpai!

Nice meeting.

Is it possible to take extra actions attacking the League for a better result?

The destruction of the Stirlandian League will take two actions. Select a priority to focus on:

-The leaders of the Stirlandian League need to be rounded up so you can question them regarding their former patron.
Hmmmm. On the one hand, attractive spymaster bait. On the other hand, we risk having them languish in a dungeon for a year or two until the thread gets around to a follow-up action of interrogating.

For the rest, how about:

-Train Intrigue
-Train Learning
-personally construct Mirrorcatch Box, keeping greatswords close at hand, Ranald's Blessing
-doublecheck Julia for skeletons in closet, literal and metaphorical
and since we're working with her:
-Free Time: Wilhelmina

Not a plan because I'm unable to concentrate right now and possibly missing something important.

No, once they realize what's happening all the people and resources are going to rabbit, so no matter how you do it, there's only so much time you can sink into it and get results. Your decision is what you're going to concentrate on grabbing while everything else runs.

I'd also consider looking into the guilds or the sewers. The sewers in particular sound like an easy place to hide all manner of dark doings.

And working at your physical pursuits with Gustav would also be a good way to keep an eye on him and improve your working relationship and skills at the same time.

So what to prioritize about the league?

Leaders are a must, obviously. So do we fixate on documents? Or how about their funds?

Thoughts on planning:

- With the Stirlandian League, I'm inclined to focus on seizing the League assets.

Stirland is in a reasonably decent position intelligence-wise with us in charge, but it's pretty poor and the army is under-equipped, under-led, and under-trained. Seizing the assets will help rectify that, and helps disarm the League - if we get the leaders but let the wealth escape, new leaders will probably rise up and use those assets against us. If we get the wealth, that effectively disarms them, and turns their source of strength against them. Plus it'll help convince van Hal to increase our budget.

This is also the most important task of the turn, so Ranald's Blessing should really go here.

- We could spend time getting to know Schultz - we have an informant in Langwald which he's building a road through, which might be useful for him. It would also be nice to work with him to help the road get built and meanwhile get some sources of info in his road crews and the 2nd/3rd divisions. We could also go the "I know you're Talabecland's agent; here's some info I found on the Stirland League you can send them since we both have a shared interest here."

- edit: We have 48 Shyish-swords left that are only useful as a source of reverse engineering enchantments and time-sensitive since they're going to turn into Dhar magnets sooner or later. There's really no real reason to hoard them to ourselves and keep putting them off until later - can we spend a free action sending a good chunk of them to the various Orders on the assumption that they'd have a much greater chance of reverse engineering the enchantment than we would, they'd hopefully send us notes if they figure it out, and it's good for the Empire to get this long-last enchantment figured out?

On second thought I learn towards funds. Seizing people means fewer people to draw on, while seizing assets means more funds to draw on.

@BoneyM do we only pick one priority for the two actions spent on the League?

You certainly have a point. OTOH, the mirrorcatch box seems like the task most likely to go horribly wrong if we roll badly. Whereas I expect rolling badly on the League still leaves them scattered and broken, just that more people escape with more ill-gotten gains.

[ ] The leaders of the Stirlandian League need to be rounded up so you can question them regarding their former patron.

I think we need to do this one. If we grab the current leaders we can grab everyone else. Plus our predecessor needs to be found.

[ ] Rounding up as many of the individual members of the League as possible will make it clear that nobody can engage in this sort of behaviour without facing eventual consequences.

I think we can let this one pass. If we get the leaders the grunts will know what will happen if they start something like this again.

[ ] Though Van Hal didn't mention it, you could work with authorities in Talabecland and Averland to help them do their own purges parallel to yours. They'd likely be grateful, but it will come at the expense of your activities in Stirland.

This will put Stirland in their good books, potentially making Val Hal's job easier is he seeks their help out later against Sylvania. It will also potentially give a more through purge of the League and contacts in Talabeclad and Averland.

[ ] The documents of the Stirlandian League will allow you to rebuild the north-south trade network with speed and efficiency.

This will make the money flow in faster and Wilhelmina's job easier.

[ ] The assets of the Stirlandian League will be a huge boost to Stirland's coffers.

This gives Van Hal the thing he's needing the most right now: money. He's currently bottle-necked when it comes to outfitting the army, with the Vampires making moves he's going to need to get them up to snuff sooner rather than later.

I'm thinking Leaders & Assets. It gives us a lead on our main target, breaks up the League's ability to quickly rebuild, and gives Stirland a nice boost.

Edit: Only one, so I think it should be the leaders. Assets would be good too, but it's a lead on our predecessor and I'd hate to let them go.

Concerning the Mirrorcatch, I think we should work on making it, and as a sub-vote keep our greatswords as close as possible while doing so. I don't know how much zweihanders will be against an illusion snake, but better to be careful.

Also, what does everybody else think about talking to Kasmir? We might be able to help him see eye to eye about Abelhelm. Though...as a wizard, the priest of Sigmar might not be too keen on our words.

That's a lot of leeway being given to us. Does Van Hal trust really Mathilde that much?

Let me put it this way: were you even considering embezzling the seized League assets before I brought it up just now?

Because diverting even 1% of the League's stuff into our own pocket is probably hundreds of crowns that could pay off the college debt on the spot. But few people seem to be considering it.

I figured that I might as well throw up a rough set of choices so people can consider the merits of each and possible additions to them.

[ ] Rough Plan 0.1

As Per Orders:

[ ] The leaders of the Stirlandian League need to be rounded up so you can question them regarding their former patron. Priority.
[ ] The assets of the Stirlandian League will be a huge boost to Stirland's coffers.

Side Operations:
[ ] Getting To Know You Whether You Like It Or Not: Julia
[ ] Getting To Know You Whether You Like It Or Not: Schultz

Research:
[ ] Personally construct the Mirrorcatch Box. Though being around that many mirrors for that long makes you antsy, there's nobody else you can trust with the task.

Influence:
[ ] There's a vacuum where a dozen trade guilds should be. Found one of your own, and let information and profits flow through you, and see what the Stirlandian League does about it.

[ ] Free Time:
-[ ] Get to know Wilhelmina better.

[X] Plan no fires.
-[x] The assets of the Stirlandian League will be a huge boost to Stirland's coffers.
-[x] Practice, Practice, Practice: Having been thrown into the deep end of imperial politics, it would probably be a good idea to brush up on your skills and internalize the lessons you've learned.
--[x] Intrigue
-[x] Practice, Practice, Practice: Having been thrown into the deep end of imperial politics, it would probably be a good idea to brush up on your skills and internalize the lessons you've learned.
--[x] Learning
-[x] Personally construct the Mirrorcatch Box. Though being around that many mirrors for that long makes you antsy, there's nobody else you can trust with the task.
-[x] A Crisis of Faith: Van Hal's ongoing alienation with the Sigmarite faith is worrying. Maybe there's something you can do?
--[x] Attempt to convert him to Ranald.
-[x][ Enchantment: So far you've failed to find suitable equipment (damn Wizard Chic) but youcould always try again with local goods. (Overwork)
-[x] Free Time: Now well-established in Wurtbad, you can spend some time in your scant off hours getting to know someone better.
--[x] Wilhelma
-[x] Change embezzlement
--[x] Change to no embezzlement.

@BoneyM already gotchu, fam.

"He looks over at you and raises his eyebrows, clearly impressed. Then his gaze flicks down before he hurriedly looks away again... rubbing the stock of his rifle distractedly."

And his rifle allows six shots before reloading.
