[x] Faith
If people want Prudence, they vote for Prudence. Some of them are willing to compromise and approval vote (Both for Faith and for Truth), others are not. I know that as the most well known member of the Necromancy faction I may be slightly biased here, but there is value in voting for what you want even if its going to fail.I don't think I've seen this many votes in one place and absolutely neck and neck at this point. Don't even understand the point of voting for Prudence at this point though. I guess those guys can be a swing vote if they switch. But considering that stance seems to be closer to Faith than Truth…
That is a impressive vote.
Sorry if someone asked that before, but does anyone knows the highest vote count of the quest?
And just to add something:
In my opinion this isn´t about faith in a god, but faith in a friend. You don´t uncover the secret of a friend and present it to the wider world. That isn´t the behavior I like to see.
Maybe that is just projection from me, but in such votes I let my feeling decide.
While not a wrong opinion, it should be noted that Truth is not "Present your findings to the world" option. 90+% of the thread thinksIn my opinion this isn´t about faith in a god, but faith in a friend. Ain't no rule you can't ritualistically sacrifice to a friend.692 Votes is the max, there is a ways to go to that.
I am pretty sure ritual sacrifice and devotion are both about faith in a god. If people want faith than vote for it but do not kid yourselves about the relationship of submission there.
While not a wrong opinion, it should be noted that Truth is not "Present your findings to the world" option. 90+% of the thread thinksMathilde will try to keep this discovery a secret, a significant chunk of it just thinks she'll eventually fail.

You could even argue that the old tradition of becoming blood brothers is a blood sacrifice made to your friendship.
I like to imagine at this point Mathilde has been frozen in indecision for hours, just endlessly debating back and forth with herself. As heated as these votes can get, I'm continuously pleased at the thread's ability to keep things relatively cool, and seeing the thread rack up so many more pages so quickly is always a delight.
This isn't unconditional though? Like, Mathilde only 'submits' to Ranald on the condition that she likes him, and she in no way feels forced to do this. That is mutual this isn't. Unconditional submission, is like conceptually opposed to friendship if words mean anything at all.

By that logic, giving someone a gift is unconditional submission, because you subsume your will over what happens with the gift to theirs.Yes, yes it is unconditional, it is about 'liking someone' so much that you subsume your own will to theirs. Unconditional does not mean forced, it means unconditional, without limit or caveat.
What part of it is unconditional? Or rather, what part of this is unconditional submission in a way that Mathilde's decision to do anything isn't?Yes, yes it is unconditional, it is about 'liking someone' so much that you subsume your won will to theirs.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Are you implying that Mathide isn't friends with Ranald? I didn't know that you were Mathilde. Hey, I know what we should do, let's ask Mathilde herself:Except this is the gift of deciding what you will do with your time and effort over a long period of time, one that requires no argument on their part and again the words devotion and ritual sacrifice. Let me put it this way, imagine it it were a romantic relationship and one of the two were willing to do all that not expecting any reciprocation, does that not sound a bit creepy? Well when you take the romance out it is still creepy... except of course this is neither friendship nor romance it is the relationship between a worshiper and a god.
Transcendent Ranald: Your relationship with Ranald is not one of temples and priests. He is your oldest and most annoying friend.
Honestly, if this vote was whether or not we would sacrifice the crystal to Panoramia I would be way more tempted by Faith.Except this is the gift of deciding what you will do with your time and effort over a long period of time, one that requires no argument on their part and again the words devotion and ritual sacrifice. By sacrificing Ranaldian energy that Ranald did not create you would be revealing to Him that you are able to create and trap that energy, and by doing so inviting Him to pass judgement on it. It's not impossible that He'd give Mathilde a high five and tell her to go nuts, but it's definitely not something you should be counting on.
One person giving the other a gift they worked on for a long time sounds pretty romantic actually. Like that's a core point of a ton of romance stories?Except this is the gift of deciding what you will do with your time and effort over a long period of time, one that requires no argument on their part and again the words devotion and ritual sacrifice. In that context your argument makes even less sense. In a romantic relationship, making choices with your partners stuff that could massively affect them or you think might seriously cross their boundries (even if you are unsure about those things) should absolutely be talked about, not done behind the others back.Except this is the gift of deciding what you will do with your time and effort over a long period of time, one that requires no argument on their part and again the words devotion and ritual sacrifice.
