I liked reading Torroar post, why did you have to go and frame it in a "learn to read idiot" way?

I don't think it is unreasonable to be suprised that the High King breaks into "let me tell you about my favorite umgi" during his wifes birth, and I didn't really say or think that the High King didn't respect him. I was just suprised by the extent of that respect.

I'm sure he didn't mean it that way, more of an acknowledgement that I could have said something along those lines because the vast majority of the examples and stuff I posted about were from KU. And no, I don't think it's wholly unreasonable. I'm the one whose got DoDA Thorgrim wholly in my brain, plus the overarching quest's framework and internal workings in my brainmeat, and it's probably still a bit surprising to hear Thorgrim doing what he did if you weren't as intimately familiar with every single element of the quest's stuff like I am. Just reading through once can only create so much familiarity/remembrance, you know?

No worries, okay? It's all good. :)

Its kinda like a certain wood elf said earlier, Freddy isn't simply just a mayfly who's life burns out quickly like a candle, but more of a bonfire who's warmth touches even those of the Elder Races and more just from pure guts alone.

Humans, and by a lesser extent halflings and ogres, might have shorter lives than them on average but that is just an excuse to get more done in the short time they are in the world. Either way, gonna be a lot of dwarfs and even a few elves that will be sad hear Freddy finally passed one day when to them it will feel like no time at all has really passed.

The best part is that more grudges will be removed before his death (which I hope is by old age)^^. Those clan of rats will be hit hard after all, It will be not that same amount of grudges, I mean unless the RNGs truly want those lvl of shenanigans, but still even more things that dwarf want dead will be dead^^.

Still while not even in the same escale, they also help a little bit with steam tech, and opening/re-opening trade markets.

Shame that he use so much elfs gold to pay good, proper and perfectly acceptable dwarf work^^.

It's kind of funny that our earlier interaction with the elves paid off quite well until now (Like literally, we prob have a stable source of income from the waystone for prob centuries or millenias.) and it was the elves first rather than the dwarves.

Honestly, just reading Torroar's background post is incredible. It shows just how much thought has been put into this quest.

Wonder if one day we will either get a update or omake of Thorgrim reacting to the latest elf adventure in full? That is going to be a absolute delight to read.

Man I love the sheer amount of thought and effort torroar puts into his work. Good job.

It'll be some time before the full story gets out. If ever. Certainly not before Ariel and the Everqueen have fully recovered.

Wait why is the 0.5 update of the current Trident meeting taking place in 2239? When did we discover time travel? And why are we using it to host Trident meetings a century in the past?

@torroar could you please threadmark that post. It was informative enough that its probably good enough for the informational thread tab

One of the Council of Thirteen. This part is...extremely serious. Doomclaw was one of the greatest enemies the dwarfs have ever had. Treacherous, cunning, but powerful, with his clan and all that. The Council of Thirteen haven't lost a member since the Horned Rat installed them in and sat them down and told them to shut up and get to it. Ancient, for a skaven, but with skalm and magic and stuff healthy and hale. Rictus used to be just east of the Silver Road, east of the Everpeak itself. A lot of dead Everpeak dwarfs died because of Doomclaw's clan.

with the death of a long standing member of the council of thirteen and the destruction of his clan there should be a massive amount of political upheaval as all sorts of powerful Skaven lords make their bid for the council seat made all the worst by the remaining council members doing their best to install one of their allies or at the very least deny the other council members from doing the same all the while the destruction of clan Rictus has likely created a massive power vacuum which the other clans are scrambling to fill , the instability gets even worse due to the war in the now named bone lands against the orcs which likely saw more than a few clans depleted , weakened or wiped out resulting in plenty of opportunistic warlords and clans deciding to try their luck to fill the resulting power vacuums , all this while the council whose job it is to keep the under empire united is likely at its own throat . so with all this what are the odds of a new long standing Skaven civil war breaking out ?

Plus, it's incredibly personally frustrating that I can write all that out in less than an hour, and yet I struggle to do that much in days/weeks when I'm trying to do 'regular' updates. Whatever regular means, anyway.
Actually, that makes perfect sense: you're not trying to write in each character's "voice", not trying to plan out their reactions and wording, not trying to take plot progression or character development into consideration. It's mainly recounting past events in (very heavily summarized/specific) terms while putting them in a specific context, in plain text (and not in terms of an in-universe text or scene). When you've put as much thought into your quest as you have, that kind of thing tends to come naturally and easy.

He would look almost cartoonish without all of the above which has slowly funneled his body over the course of the majority of his life. His body has been sculpted into looking natural by powers Arcane, Divine, Dwarf, and Laurelorn based. By that I mean that he doesn't appear lopsided or grotesquely bulked in some parts but not others. It's consistent and smooth throughout without parts of him going too far or like, sticks for legs instead of a truly powerful whole body.
Has Frederick permanently lost this physique due to getting fat? A body like that doesn't seem to be attainable through exercise alone. Or did he somehow get a perfect exercise regimen that will eventually give him back his physique while looking completely natural?

Perfect exercise regimen? No. But his physical homeostasis is...while not, like, elastic, still conforms itself to that state so long as he maintains it properly. When not maintained, it diminishes, as seen in the update. But given enough time, exercise, and temporarily restricted diet, it is highly likely to return to its original state or at least so close to such that a difference is nigh imperceptible. That's what the rolls were for, to see how far gone it went, but thankfully F+N managed to both fight their way back enough that it wasn't too severe. It will look as natural as it did beforehand. Portions of his physique were literally divinely sculpted a bit. 15 pounds of muscle might not sound like a lot, but it can be if applied in the right places. Which it was. That sort of thing doesn't go away easily.

I have one question about the Dammaz Kron, what happens if it runs out of paper? What happens if so many grudges are written in it, that there is just no room left for new grudges? Is there weird Dwarf non-magic that keeps it expanding beyond its actual physical limitations so that's not actually a problem?

It doesn't ever run out. The Dammaz Kron is as big as it ever was, and ever will be. You can open it and flip through the pages, and keep flipping to the latest grudge and then a blank sheet or two to inscribe new ones. It's physical weight doesn't change, but its metaphysical weight does, hence me earlier comments of it being 'lighter than it has been in generations'.

That talk about metaphysical weight, which had show effecting all dwarfs when the High King remove the grudges make me think of those poor guys moving that throne, with all those other things. Well they are dwarfs that is a Really Honorable position^^.
