I just had a thought. Fredrick is out of Armor essential in the middle of the forest fighting the forces of darkness. So if he's going to get blessed by a god it would probably be Taal.

Though considering he usually wears lots of armor and loves firepower in all its forms I doubt it.

Also the whole letting Johanna his champion be corrupted into a vampire thing. If I remember correctly, after taal interrogated us he was actually going to yell at us. Then he realized our piety was so low we would either forget him or repress the memory entirely so he walked off grumbling like a dwarf.

Huh? I don't remember anything about Johanna being a champion of Taal. I'm pretty sure the fact that she wore metal armor would immediately take her out of the running for such a position.

Also, Taal was actually pretty friendly towards towards Freddy when he interacted with him, what with him being the only god that Frederick could actually hear and all. Frederick even stood up for Johanna when he complained about her wearing metal armor.

think we should ask Magnus for some support in getting a master jade wizard hired by us?
Ortrud had a master Jade Wizard in her employ, but that's no longer the case.

I wonder how on earth she managed to pull that off. Master Wizards don't exactly grow on trees.

Wolfgang was a friend that Ortrud made when they were doing the Great War Against Chaos thing. Ortrud traveled south to join with Magnus early, and so was present when Teclis came around and they did that whole thing. She happened to make friends with Wolfgang - and technically many others who contributed to that whole shebang leading up to and including knocking Asavar Kul down - before there were even proper ranks, just Teclis + his students, and they fought together at the Gates of Kislev. Thus, later on, when Wolfgang was confirmed as a Wizard Lord, she and Otrud kept up their correspondence and Ortrud got an offer for work with a slightly reduced pay rate.

I have to wonder how do the Jade Wizards who serve us view us. Also I wonder if the Jade Wizards serving us are seen as sort of weird by their peers at the college due their demeanor about injuries and the like.

We're their proving ground for their new graduates if they can't deal with the amount of damage our family takes they can't advance far.

Poor Jade wizards. Nobody understands the stress of trying to keep somebody like Freddy alive.

Inb4 some Gold journeymen travel north for the "easy" job of keeping Freddy's armour from getting destroyed in combat.

To be honest, if we did not have inside perspective into the Hohenzollern family and didn't see stuff from some of their points of view, i would have suspected us to be chaos cultists.
I would have suspected something strange is up, but would take a look at how many times they have very publicly ruined Chaos invasions as proof that it was not Chaos.

Warhammer. Internecine warfare is par for the course. Especially for Destro factions.

How very convenient that the Hohenzollern heir who was exiled for disrespecting the clergy was the only one to survive a coordinated set of Chaos attacks that killed anybody who might have a claim to the title. And that the man who marked Frederick's wizard-loving friend Stephan for heresy ended up transforming into a Daemon before his very essence got hacked to pieces by an obscure vampiric artifact.
This is the man who has a marriage alliance to that brutal dictator Kattarin the bloody, who ended up becoming a vampire in OTL and who is currently enacting (religious) reforms in a bid to become an absolute monarch that turned large chunks of Kislevite society against her.

Next thing you know, he's going to proliferate Daemon engines or Tomb King constructs to the other provinces(if the Doomspheres aren't already) under some vaguely plausible cover like "drunken sparktech" or something while preparing for the Nordland-Ostland-Kislev fleets to join the Norscans in sacking Marienburg(and anything upriver that catches their fancy).

Please report to your nearest inquisitor!
They want to know how you have figured out there latest suspicions on the Mad Count Fredrick and his witch loving ways.

At 7k words. May be reaching a sort of end point. Might be a case of just posting something, rather than keep you all waiting another week, without a vote? Or keep going. Thoughts?

If you're willing, I'd love to see what you have and wait for you to write the end in a separate segment. Post something now if it's ok.
