I'd rather not try to make a diplomatic statement with a character who has a pathetic diplomacy score. Seems like it's just asking for our character to screw it up, just like the last time we tried a clever write-in for a diplomacy option. Let's just be satisfied with what we got, and go home. No need to deliberately do things that are outside of our skill zone.

Why would I ever strive to fuck people over? Please, you've pointed out the inherent flaws in my speech so let me address them and don't assume I'm a bad person because I didn't get my way in terms of not accepting the Imperial Triumph.
The speech is meant to, entirely, say that Frederick is as much fault as Victor. 'We' addresses all the people, including us. Essentially, we considered Magnus' words and are striving to change that. Magnus spoke to us, we relayed why we didn't change, and essentially thought it over and decided to at least promise military aid when necessary.
The last part is a simple promise, that we will commit a Personal Action , whenever an Elector Meet is occurring.
I did not write that speech with any intent whatsoever, to harm our quest.

And doing nothing will just keep the problem perpetuating. Every time the issue between the two provinces has been brought up its the bridge that is the first problem that is mentioned. Address this issue as it seems to be a sticking point to further agreements and discussions. I'm not advocating doing anything over the top, but politics isn't about who is in the right about something, but about making compromises and working out issues. Sometimes you have to give a little to gain something.
Point of order: It was not a clever write in. It was the most unclever. If it had been a clever write in, I would have written it as such. I wrote exactly what was voted for: Gib me your citizens plz.

Whoa, hold on there. It's one thing to say 'your write-in would make things worse'. It's quite another to say 'you're deliberately trying to screw us over'.
He proceeded to blame it on the ale that fredrick was drinking. The issues with his write in that is. So it looked like he was trying to screw us over deliberately by rping that Fredrick was making a mistake due to the ale that he drank. I apologized after being told he wasn't.

I must have missed the turns when "WE" have engaged Hochland in any diplomatic discussion about any deals and they then proceeded to fuck us over with. The issue is an old one that started a long time ago and since we have been the Elector Count we have had sweet fuck all to do with them. Freddy's father had a rivalry going with Nordland, but we have worked on that, admittedly coming to their aid really did help with that, but the point is that just because an old grudge exists there is no reason that we can work on improving the situation. Their Elector Count may want to skin us alive at the moment and may not be willing to work with us at the moment, and if that is the case then so be it, but if we continue to just go fuck'em they don't like us any way and pursue actions that are actively detrimental to them, then don't be surprised if they start actively working against us in some manner. Then of course people will be jumping up and down demanding that we go and punch him in the face, because how dare he not see the brilliance of what we are doing and simply fall in line like everyone else.
This however is not what I had actually asked in the other post. Does anyone have any other ideas on how we could improve relations with Hochland?

We've had zero opportunities to interact with Hochland until this Meet, so please don't talk like we've been ignoring them from the start.
Yes, wait until the old bastard dies and hope his heir is smarter and will actually keep bargains made with another country/Elector Count. We can't be friends with everyone; especially on a country wide scale.
Also, wait until they've actually put forth effort to meet us half way on something instead of repeating what they've historically done EVERY time our family has tried to work with them. Throwing good money/effort/time after bad is a very bad thing to do.
Hochland's count is old anyway, we'd see a new count within the next two decades

Although i am in favor of trying to work with Hochland but i rather we solidify our economy with friendlier provinces before touching Hochland. If something happens at least Nordland, Ostermark and Talabecland are not going start raising pitchfork and torches at us claiming heavy compensation by blaming us cause of bad luck or an attack by hostile forces.
Hochland is like playing with a live hand grenade since if anything happens our economy gonna be in a world of hurt at this current stage. Lets actually try when the risk is minimal in several years later.
