If we try to destroy the portal at range with single digit artillery we're going to be there for a long time.

Depends on our rolls.

We have no reason to believe it can be damaged by cannon fire.

Likewise, we have no reason to believe it won't be oneshotted by a single cannonball and/or that it isn't immune to soldiers hacking at it with swords if it's resistant to cannon fire.

Saying we're going to be here for a long time like it's fact is overconfident, GM made no ruling one way or the other.

Edit: Just checked, apparently Cannons are the bullshit the empire uses to take out the big targets.

At point blank range you basically roll 8d10 and utterly ignore armour, applying a wound for every d10 that "hits".

At max range it's 1d10 per cannon. Still reasonably confident that they can damage the gate.

If there was a write-in to bring the cannons to half-range, setting a defensive position around it and then firing the cannons I'd be all for it(we'd probably obliterate the gate on the first turn that way).

And that's not even counting the disruption they have.

These things are dragon killers.

EditEdit: My bad, it's s10 to hit and ignores armour, that's d6 + strength - toughness and result must be 4 or higher?

There will be many, many swords, some of them belonging to warrior priests as opposed to few cannons and mages.

Turns out cannons are for the things you're not sure you can kill conventionally.

The arguments for it have convinced me to switch my vote to Look Over Here!

Well then.
Anyone else up for this?
Because it seems like our best way to handle it - we KNOW Sigmar has anti-daemon stuff associated with him.

[X] Look Over Here
-[X] Have Priests of Sigmar bless the cannonballs so when they are fired they cause lots of damage to the enemy and when they hit the portal destroy it or distrupt it enough that the Elf can do whatever she is trying to do with magic.

This good?

Blessed cannonballs for the win:D

Ooh, good thinking Krain!

Added that to my vote as well.

Does me saying changing vote automatically change our should I go back to the earlier vote and change that?

Would the Priest of Ulric also be able to bless things? Maybe the since they are against magic it can disrupt the portal more?
Hm, how cold is it now?
Because Ulric is strongest at winter, and he's associated with fear... not sure if that'd help against daemon shit.

If we had Shallyans, I'd say those would definitely go along here.

Added that to my vote as well.
Thank you

Believe it only takes the latest X'd vote you have.

We need more Shallyans in Ostland after this if only because they are very useful in certain matters.
Yep.
They're the key for getting more people in our rule (simply through making sure people don't die to disease that often).

Maybe we can get Magnus in on this, helping us out?
He IS a chosen of Shallya as well, after all.

Plus, most beloved Emperor EVER and all.
I imagine even Freddy honestly likes the guy, after he got a gift and basically told everyone to shut the fuck up Natasha is awesome.
