The implication is more that Blue Kirk is firmly gay herself, which tends to not translate well to seducing dudes.

I know that I was running with the joke sssh.

But like, what does gay mean for a quad-gendered species? Is Ka'Sharren only attracted to other zhen, or do chen also arouse her Blue Kirk instincts? Maybe she's into all sexes except thaan.

You know, I was about to suggest she may be bisexual, and then it's ... "Wait, is it quadsexual? Ow! Brain, ow!"

So who are they meeting with?

The Continuing Committee are essentially a group of the most powerful political animals in the Romulan Star Empire, they perform a mix of executive, legislative, and legal functions, and operate without oversight from any group except theoretically the Senate itself. The man in the middle is probably the Romulan Praetor.

Suffice it to say, they are a big deal.

You know, I almost expected this update to be called "The Raptor's Den"

Well as long as the next update is not "May I sit down here?"

So yeah important stuff is afoot and the Romulans are extending us something that is very rare for there interaction with the Federation. Trust, considering that a romulan captain would be in a similar situation be willing to Kamikaze there Ship into Starflet HQ where it needed.

So I just googled the Andorian sexes to get a clearer picture and....

Sorry, but what? How did such a species even manage to evolve

Maybe I got things wrong or so, but does the zhen actually contribute her genetic material to the child? And what is the difference between thaan and chan? The order in which they fertilize the egg?

Yeah, I honestly expected to have to shuttle in or something, this is an incredible level of trust, because in the back of everyone's heads is "They could fly straight down here and suicide into us"

Fwiw, they're not letting the Enterprise geostationary park above the Senate. They're parked near the starbase which the Romulans are banking can take out the Enterprise if need be, before the Enterprise can execute any ramming attack. They transported down towards the horizon.

Which is all, of course, still a massive amount of trust. But they aren't quite letting the Enterprise have a free firing solution on the Senate.

For example nothing prevents us from Teleporting down the AM of our starship, say above the capital, and that is ignoring KKVing and other stuff.

Shhh.... shhhh.... It'll be allright.... only dreams now.... shh....

It's just one of those things we just... don't really talk about....

It's real awkward, and I for one am not inclined to ask about the icky sex lives of strange aliens... Unless they're sexy > : 3

They are meeting with the Romulan cabinet which depending on the version also included the Praetor.
And the Mural and the Empty chair show that this is the room in which the Senate of Romulus resides, which yes also mean that the Tal'shiar guy is not a henchman, but the leader of that Service.
As evidenced by "I didn't invite you here" when she said she wouldn't bend the knee to Tal Shiar brass :V

Andorian orientation is described by four-dimensional equations.

Personally I headcanon that Andorians actually have only between one and three "sexes" and their genders are more like social roles that grew out of their four-way arranged marriages to secure alliances between ice fortresses with highly advanced medical technology to ensure that the resulting children are the product of all four parents.

Technically, the Enterprise is capable of utterly obliterating Romulus and everything else in the system, simply by deliberately mistuning their warp drive and activating it too close to Romulus' star. Of course, that would invite massive retaliation, as at least some Romulan ships would be able to escape before the supernova obliterated Romulus.

You know, this really makes you question how the bloody fuck technological civilizations remain stable for any time frame when anyone with a warp drive and enough technical savvy can supernova a star.

It's probably really bloody obvious when you do it, and invites swift retribution.

Probably.

Where on earth is this from? A novel?
