Something is weird with the tally-it counts me as voting for the inquisition plan but I only voted for Cheap and Dangerous and Federation.

I also only voted for Cheap and Dangerous and Federation just recently when I changed my vote yet I am voting for Inquisition as well.
Same.

Is this working right?
Yeah that looks correct for my vote now.

May or may not be accurate.

at least fleet wise.

Posted this in Discord, but here is an audit on the crew (just doing Officers):

I can confirm that 54.8 is what I was using at beginning of year last time, and that included the first year's Federalization of reserves

The -56 would be ships crewed this year I guess. Per EOY that's 1 Polaris (7) + 16 Keplers (2*16 = 32) + 1 Comet (2) + we moved the Odyssey to regular service (6). That's 7 + 32 + 2 + 6 = 47.

Huh, not sure where the remaining -9 is coming from?

Federalized under construction maybe?

2 Excelsiors (12) + Centaur-B (1) + Constellation (2) = 15 * .5 = 7.5... nope, that doesn't work.

So how do we get to -56 Officers?

Well, put that to the side. Then we have +1. Not sure where that's coming from. There was a Saturn CL from 2324.Q1 that added +1O/E/T additional Tellarites, but I thought they arrived in 2325, not 2324 EOY.

Federalized ships = 1 Miranda (1), 17 centaurs (17), 9 Renaissances (27) and 2 Excelsiors (12) = 57 /2 = 28.5.

Okay, that one's right.

And then we we retired 7 Starfleet Connie-Bs for 21 Officers and 4 member Connie-Bs for 12/2 = 6 officers, for a total of 27 offices.

Oh wait, that doesn't include the Cheron.

So another +5 officers; 32 from retirement.

Huh, if we took the "Federalized under Construction" and included only 1 Excelsior (the one that's in a Starfleet shipyard) then the numbers work out assuming we have to 'pay' the entire crew, which come to think we probably do.

1 Excelsiors (6) + Centaur-B (1) + Constellation (2) = 9

Okay, to review: 54.8 O is correct.

-56 is off in that it does not include the crew paid for that Vulcan Excelsior being built in an Amarki (I think?) berth. Should be -62.

+1 is fine if we're getting those Tellaraite spacers a bit early.

38.5 is new Officer income... looks fine.

Federalized ships 28.5 are correct.

However retired ships Crew income are incorrect... we retired 7 Starfleet Constitution-Bs, 4 member Constitiution-B, and the Cheron. Should be 32 from RET.(edited)

And none of this includes the +5.1 Officers from the Federalized crew reserves we get for 2325.

(apply all of this to Enlisted and Techs as well)

...Oh, rats.

The plan that didn't involve the evidence of what happened to the ISC from the Horizon point of view won.

[stares into space]

I don't think that's as bad as you make it out to be. The ISC are probably the polity most likely to accept the explanation, "we had to prioritize more current information over events centuries ago. Knowing the exact details might have provided some catharsis, but I don't doubt any ISC leader would rather know what the Horizon are doing now and have limited information on past events, versus a clear view of the past but less information on current crises.

Plus, we've built up a lot of goodwill with the ISC since we met them, so there's a better chance of them choosing to take us at our word than say the Felis or the Licori. I want to say Courageous was the ship that first made contact with them, though that was before Zara's captaincy. Despite their paranoid nature, I think this is a situation where we can ask the Padani to trust us and have a good chance of them believing us.

Actually, it wasn't just that it would make the ISC happy or that they won't forgive us.

I honestly thought that information would be valuable.

Firstly, because it may be a useful cluebat on the Harmony's own population- "Hi, here's a big chunk of your history that you were forced to forget!"

Secondly, because the ISC killed at least one Singer in cyberwarfare combat. It's likely that somewhere in those "What happened to the Padani" files is what the Singers knew about how it was done to them.

Thirdly, because it's insight into how the Singers react when massively thwarted by a Great Power-sized entity that is resistant to their advances, as opposed to a single planet like Kelowna. This could be extremely important in the very near future since we're about to no-sell their seduction program in a way that in some ways is even more vigorous than the Padani's, if with less immediate fiery explosive death involved.

It's not that the Padani won't trust us, it's that I specifically wanted that information for other reasons plus the extra +Trust we'd get from it.

Keep in mind, though, that the Padani might still have data on that, which, while not necessarily as useful, could still help devise systems to at the very least blunt Singer infiltration of Federation computer systems.

I am not sure about the first point, but the last two? particularly the second seemed worthwhile, though it is a shame, no use to dwell it now.

In order:

It might have worked as a wake up call, but we have other things to use for that. The Tauni incursion was similarly awful, and was also far more recent. People are more likely to be outraged at something that happened in the past few decades than something that happened centuries ago.

We know how the Padani killed Singers. Zarael told us. They detonated a torpedo in the computer core when they detected malicious code. It's about as useful as EPS venting during the biophage.

Third is a fair point, but I still think having current information is more valuable.

so what if anything do we have too round of before we get to the next year?

damm just looked at when this "year" started.

juli the 6 till now jeez, halve a year on one year of story telling
