We already have a ship named after a Vulcan though.Maybe, but I'm passionate about it!
I really don't like how much we're overusing poor Admiral Aelin. He already has a colony named after him. Let's have more diversity guys!
On the other hand, I really want to see more non-human names. As such, I propose S'harien (after the great Vulcan sword smith) it also has the advantage of having been used as a ship name in the TOS era, so it is already "traditional".

We need to expand the Science Academy and Starfleet Academy ASAP.

Since you know the backstory, I trust your judgment in the matter. Will change mine shortly.Swords and specifically S'harien's swords have an important place in the The Romulan mythology/history.
And technically Starfleet doesn't have warships. The name is perfect. The man was capable of building the finest swords in Vulcan/Romulan history but also was conviced to turn to other pursuits by logic and reason.
I'm going back and changing my vote.

That actually sounds like a great name for a Renaissance, if we want to theme those names for growth, science, and innovation. Which I think is a good theme.
For those that just voted for S'harien, remember that you need to repost your entire old vote or edit the new Name vote into your previous vote. The tally program will forget your old vote entirely and only your new ship name vote will count otherwise.
Clearly what we need are some more dramatic battles fit for some of them to die a hero's death in. The Amarki will doubtlessly agree.Ahhh I am torn.
On the one hand I do like S'harien.
Abd on the other I'd really like an Amarki name but I don't want to over expose Aelin, but we don't really have any other Amarki names or I'd vote for those.
I think the idea was always that the "Old Guard" admirals were at best marginally competent, without any special or remarkable characteristics that give them advantages or benefits other than "your navy continues to funct...
For the Renaissance class, I was thinking The Renaissance, the De Vinci, and then trying to get a similar figure from each of the other members for the first wave of ships.
S'harien would also be a good name to keep in our pocket if/when some sort of closer Romulan diplomacy happens, as he's the most obvious link between the world of Vulcan and Romulus.
I tried to put down a list of things we should look into for the snakepit:
-Another one-megaton berth
-Mining and research colonies (as always)
-Consider a starbase on the Cardassian border
-Other defensive measures directed against Cardassia.
-Weapons research team?
-Start work on the Renaissance-class? Or did we already pay for that and I forgot?
Did I forget anything, peoples?
EDIT:
-Expansions to Starfleet Academy are important! We need the crew.
That would just be Starbase 6, fancy names for them isn't really a thing Starfleet does.If we build a RBZ station over the Vulcan colony in the area, that might be a good name that respects the colony, and who it faces, and sends a good message about respecting skill and history.
Sensible Romulan who Agrees with me: "Ah, yes, a symbol of possible friendship. Quite unexpected of the Federation to be so poignant."If we build a RBZ station over the Vulcan colony in the area, that might be a good name that respects the colony, and who it faces, and sends a good message about respecting skill and history.

So the only real close vote is the name, where it's Odyssey 14 to Aelin 13. You who voted for low vote alternative names like @Nervos Belli and @fasquardon and @HearthBorn and @Void Stalker and @Gingganz and @pbluekan and @Happerry and @Katsuragi should probably consider which of the two you prefer.

@OneirosTheWriter, is there a theme that Amarki names fall into? Since they're now full members, we need to name some ships after Amarkian stuff.
If nothing exists, I'll probably just go make some stuff up.
