Meh. Took a quick look, and it seems like a pretty mediocre story. Crossover stories that basically try and slavishy recreate an entire movie/book/tv show, but with characters from a different setting, tend to be that origonal work with different names thrown in. Like, the character Rainbow Dash has more than a few character traits that could fit into the role of being a good starship captain in the setting of Star Trek. But if you try and write her like she's literally Captain Kirk, then the character isn't Rainbow Dash in a different setting. It's the Kirk from the movie, but with a different appearence and manerisms. Same goes for Twilight/Spock and probably other characters too.

There are other reasons I call that fic mediocre, but I'd have to actually read more of it to properly write why, and it ain't worth the effort.

"I could write down a critical review, but it's not worth the effort." - that's quite unambiguous.

Well, it's not. Who here is actually interested in "a critical review" of a random Friendship is Magic x Abrams Star Trek story? (One that's three years old and unfinished, too?) I read enough of it to be completely uninterested in reading any more of it, so I won't. Besides, a search of the fimfiction site for "Star Trek" turns up 94 pony stories. A big chunk of them mostly focus on the character Discord also being Q, (instead of being about ponies on starships,) but still, there are dozens of fish in that lake.

Honestly the more I think about it, Mane6 as JJTrek Enterprise crew isn't like, a terrible concept, insofar as you accept all fan fiction is sinful and wicked -- and I await the day the mob finally realizes this and parades me through the street for my shameful writing. The first episodes of FIM follow roughly similar story beats to JJTrek. The question in my mind is if you switch up the Star Trek dynamic by having the Spock-like character in charge, or the MLP dynamic by making AJ the leader and Twilight the sidekick.

Why am I thinking about this?! SINFUL AND WICKED

Ponyform Star Trek is just wrong. They can't do the Vulcan hand salute properly.
Vulcans are pegasai and use their wing feathers.

"But iron wolf shouldn't they be unicorns"

Sorry folks this is the best I got

Ironwolf writes pony trek under a sockpuppet confirmed?

Sounds legit. I mean, there's a lot of nuance that gets lost when you boil everything down to a three word summary, but still.
"Is Pinkie Pie or Rarity the Uhura expy?" I whisper to myself. My coworkers shift uncomfortably. "If we keep the JJ dynamic, the shipping dynamics are unexpected, but, intriguing..."
On the basis of which character is most likely to sword fight the entire ship, I vote that Rarity be put as the Uhura role to keep Pinkie Pie free to play Sulu.

Did you even read that page? It has nothing to do with this quest.

Ibmaian, I assume he didn't get the "Create TV Tropes page" > "Name TV Tropes Page 'To Boldly Go'" > "Find the already existing page with the same name" > "Compare content" > "Contrast with Akuz comment" > "Find it funny"

If we're being completely technical, this isn't a problem that hasn't been dealt with before and there are easy ways to get around it if you feel like doing so. Squinting a little and using the "web original" or even (God forbid) "roleplay" namespaces would be simple enough, or one could grit their teeth and call it "To Boldly Go (Quest)" under a disambiguation page.

It's probably worth the effort, from a marketing standpoint; it would be a concise way to get across the things that set the TBG-verse apart from other takes on Star Trek without putting the onus on a prospective reader to binge through the entire history of the quest before they can think about getting something close to the full participation experience.
