[X][BUILD] 2322 A: 1 Ambassador, 9 Keplers, 1 Renaissance, 3 Centaur-B Refits, 2 Excelsior Refits, 1 Hospital Ship

We've got a number of Ambies already in construction. As much as I would like more we need to be reasonable about this and begin filling out other roles required by the fleet.

[X][AUX] Helpful Hands Shipyards

Inspired by the Mr. Rodgers quote about looking for the helpers when things go wrong. Betazoid likely wants to build hospital ships there, and not just cargo ships after all.

Uh, I hope the rest of the Looking Glass Universe story will come out soon. Because it's going to be kinda awkward for Leaniss send us the MWCD update from another universe. (Unless, the MCWD update for 2322 will be temporarily presented by a deputy on her behalf, I guess.)

So, a few more thoughts on these build plans.

Frankly, building the Ambys outside of parallel building in UP just isn't really as worth it. 9 months off is quite the chunk, and plan C just sort of sticks them wherever it can.

I was wondering, @Briefvoice ehy the Rennie in plan A is in a UP berth, rather than the 40 Eridani or Ana Font yards. Wouldn't it be better to put the Kepler from one of those slots into UP to take advantage of the time cut on parallel builds and then just deal with the single quarter delay on the Rennie?

In theory, we can decomission ships in order to create a ship shortage crisis, and get extra resources for replacement.
They aren't stupid. "Didn't you just decomission a bunch of otherwise effective, if a bit old, ships? Why should we give you more resources when you're clearly cutting back?"

Waaaaay to Machiavellian. And also completely shitty and transparent.

The Renaissance benefits from the time cut due to serial builds; in fact it benefits more than a Kepler since it gets three quarters off rather than two.

I think it could work, but only if Starfleet is completely transparent about its intentions and has some serious political backing. Like, if we say from the beginning that we intend to decommision existing classes to replace them with a "new model" starfleet fit for the latter half of the 24th century it might just be treated as a prudent front-loading of replacements that will become necessary anyways.

*looks up Kepler stats* C2 S7 H2 L4 P5 D5 ... Dat Science.
Not great for combat, and if something gets through the shields it'll be unfun, but as a spammable high-science, decent presence responder, that sounds quite useful. But the increased combat ability of a Rennie seems likely to also be useful.

I think the SDB team would quite like that assessment.

"Dammit Chekov, stop playing Musical Wessels!" :D

Are you sure those Weassels weren't secret?

Funny, but not very Betazoid.

Depends, did he ever spend shore leave on betazed? (if so we should probably get the planet tested)

Now, for ships that are getting old in the tooth, rather than scrap or even mothball, we could see if any of the member navies is interested in them or turn them over to StarFleet Academy, I am sure turning them to cadet ships could be profitable as well

For my Vote
