The question now, of course, is will we still have Ambassador, Enterprise and Tarrak when the fire works die down ....

how much do you want to bet than when the time comes for D to launch we have most if not all of the Starfleet and as many affiliate ships waiting nearby for the inevitable disaster that will affect the Ds launch as we can?

Edit: how many ships do we have in Sol right now?

You have no idea how hard it was for me to avoid just replacing that with 100 pictures of ProAmbie pr0n

This was better.
And:
The tradition is uphold! No Enterprise enters service with a boring 'fly to Vulcan' trial.

Edit: Now, if someone were writing the arrival of crew and Nash from the point of view of Enterprise ...

You know, we all joked that Nash would pull a Kirk and hijack the Enterprise when it was about to be launched, but I never thought it would actually happen.
Guess I was wrong.

Mmm, I mean, Tarrack likely has the launch schedule, and she can pick her timing of her incursion to Sol, so that may not be coincidence. If she's relying on the Ambassador and Enterprise to be ready on the other side she can pick a time when it's likely.

well unless this event is somehow short in time.
there are now 2 missing big ship not on the roster.

bet the UFP and SF going to flip about that

IF the conditions on the other side allow crossing over at any time.
...
Seems they did in this case at least.

Edit: Now, if the other side is very similar to ours, they could get star maps from the Romulans and anyone else, and map more space than on a usual 5ym ...
